What about that line of Kathy's about Steven having parents who loved him. Who exactly was she referring to? Cindy and Simon? Ian and Laura?

I'd be very surprised if Michael Parr re-signs, sorry. I think he has other fish to fry. He has dual US/UK citizenship, right? I think he'll try his luck in the US next.

I sort of get Jennie McAlpine sticking around but Anthony Cotton is insufferable as Sean.

Rewatched the scene and when Tom the paramedic arrives there were not one but two shots of Ben looking REALLY uncomfortable, rubbing his hand over his mouth. I dunno, rewatching it made it seem obvious to me what was what save for the fact we never saw Tom look in his direction, only toward Jane and then to the hockey stick.

When the paramedic arrived there was a shot of Ben looking noticeably uncomfortable. Could the paramedic have been Ben's one-night stand, the one who gave him chlamydia? He never looked in Ben's direction so we weren't clued in for sure.

Riley Millington (Kyle)'s definitely got a Northern accent, Carl! He's from Stretford which is in the Greater Manchester area.

Sophie Austin would be perfect as one of Stacey's sisters on EastEnders but can she do a Northern accent?

I'm wondering if Jacob's sudden obsession with cleaning in the wake of Dylan's death will be developed. Could he have OCD? That would be interesting. ETA Well, after tonight's episode doesn't my original theory at least seem POSSIBLE? That Ronnie was brought into a three-way "arrangement" with Ellen and Laurence but Laurence and Ronnie ended up falling in love?

For the record Janine was in prison from May 2004 until December 2005 when she was released. I never understood why she didn't make it her mission to make Pat suffer greatly since it was Pat's lying which caused her to be imprisoned in the first place. The idea of Jay and Ben being "together" as anything more than close friends/bruvs is as ludicrous to me as the one floated elsewhere that Grant is Denny's father, not Dennis. I don't see SOC running with either of these, thank God.

Nothin'ButAttitude, I actually wrote DTC to tell him how amused I was that he used the wedding processional music in the Moldavian Massacre episode on Dynasty for Jean's wedding on EE last summer. He didn't respond, of course. He absolutely was trying to emulate Dallas, Dynasty, Falcon Crest and Knots Landing from time to time. I was quite underwhelmed by last night's episode. I love Sarah Phelps but the whole episode just didn't work. It should have been a monologue. In my opinion the finest, most moving moments of Peggy's four episodes have been the scene in the doctor's office and the scene with Dot. Nothing else.

Why would Aaron turn down £250k? So stupid. I hate when soap characters do this. It's unrealistic. So Liv will inherit £500k and at least two guys will try to kill her for her money. Or Charity might kidnap her for ransom. reply 212 a few seconds ago

I also agree that a Kirin recast could work very well.

In an episode which aired here in NY on Wednesday night (May 2006) Peggy laid into Little Mo, accusing her of harming her baby and blaming Ben, saying things like "I'm GLAD you're leaving, nobody wants you around here anymore." Jesus, she was often written as such a nasty, judgmental, vindictive old cow. At least when Peggy was so atrocious about Mark's HIV status years earlier it came from a place of fear and ignorance.

I thought tonight's episode was very moving, though, and a fitting tribute to Edna. Wonderful performances by the cast.

Tonight's episode was quite moving although at times it seemed more like Steve McFadden and Barbara Windsor onscreen than Phil and Peggy. The improvisatory feel of their scenes during the travelogue bit didn't help. I'm pretty sure the pie and mash shop they were in is the one in Borehamwood, about a few blocks away from Elstree.

She definitely didn't know at first, she was led to believe by David and Kylie that Callum's body had been thrown into the canal. On DS someone wrote that they were forced to tell her where Callum was buried a few months later when a body found in the canal turned out not to have been Callum's but I don't think that's true.

It isn't, though, right? Something will no doubt happen to Gordon in prison. And then we have the ramifications of Robert burning that letter... I was no fan of Sharon Marshall's when she wrote for EE but I did love her line for Emma "Lie for me. Or I'll wreck your life." Pure bonkers soapy goodness.

Did I miss the bit where Sarah was actually told by David and Kylie that Callum was buried underneath the floorboards in Gail's room? She said again tonight, referring to the Platts'-"It's where he IS."

I still think there's more to Ronny Hale than the likelihood that he's Chrissy's birth father. I think he had a sexual relationship with Laurence, too. I would totally believe Laurence's hesitation and anguish over revealing the truth if it turned out that Laurence had "brought in" Ronny for three-way sex with Ellen and that's how both Chrissy and Rebecca were conceived.
