  1. I sent Carl the images of the autographed screen cap and note I received from the second Alice, Susan Harney. When the show was still on, I wrote to Nadine Stenovitch (Josie #3) and she sent me a Minnie Mouse valentine!! I remember thinking how sweet that was.
  2. Carl, I have never been able to figure out why Sherry never recorded an album. She recorded one song on John Gabriel's (RH) album from the late 70s entitled John Gabriel & Friends, which featured several other soap stars like Michael Storm. The song she sang was the song "Steve" had written for "Liza", "You Can Love Again". I do believe that album is still up for grabs on eBay.
  3. Carl, I made the same mistake!!!
  4. Or any of the other three soaps still on, really. Someone should definitely take a chance on them.
  5. I LOVE Tovah Feldshuh!! She was especially awesome as the barricuda defense attorney Danielle Melnick on L&O - which many a RH cast member guested on once it premiered.
  6. The comments from you guys are even funnier than the clip itself - which is hilarious!!!
  7. I remember reading somewhere that they were married, but that was awhile ago. They both look well and happy.
  8. Yes, I did.
  9. Dramatist, Syreeta was Stevie Wonder's first wife (and they stayed the best of friends years after the divorce - until she passed in 2004) and co-wrote some of his songs from the early 70s including "Signed, Sealed, Delivered" and "If You Really Love Me" (and she's the female voice on the latter song). Syreeta also sang "With You I'm Born Again" with Billy Preston, which was a major smash in 1979-80 - and Billy Preston has already been profiled by Unsung. She can also be heard on the soundtrack for The Jacksons: An American Dream - singing "Stay With Love" with Jermaine Jackson. Syreeta also sang Stevie's "Harmour Love" which enjoyed renewed popularity a few years ago when featured in the movie Junebug. So she's the perfect candidate for an episode on the show. I would also love to see them profile Hot Chocolate and The Brothers Johnson.
  10. The Melisande story ran about 8 weeks (from about mid-December 1968 to mid-February 1969) but it dragged on for what seemed like forever. This is with two episodes a day with the reruns, which cut it in half for us - it would have been a lot worse when the episodes originally aired and there was only one episode a day. LOL Ralph Purdum really did do a phenomenal job playing a very sick and disturbed man - and even after this story wraps, the good folks of Hope Memorial haven't seen the last of him. That's about all I'll say because that encounter will lead into the major story we're seeing now.
  11. So far, my favorite of this young season is Otis Redding. His widow was so sweet - she never had the desire to remarry. It's kind of chilling that his last performance was in Cleveland, my hometown. The plane flew out of Cleveland and never made it to its planned destination. I'm still waiting for a profile of Syreeta Wright. I wonder if they will EVER get to doing an episode about her. Stevie participated in the Deniece Williams episode, so I see no reason why he wouldn't do the same for an episode of Syreeta. Same goes for Smokey Robinson, who recorded a couple of duets with her (the most famous being "First Time on a Ferris Wheel" from The Last Dragon) and has been interviewed for other episodes of the show. Is there anyone you would like to see profiled that hasn't been yet?
  12. "Artificial Sweetness" - that's too funny...and clever!! Speaking of MBE, wasn't one of her pregnancies written into the show (Kayla having Stephanie)? With the exception of the character of Maggie, I haven't seen any other major character on the reruns of The Doctors have a temp recast as yet (someone did step in as Liz when Pam Toll was filming a movie, but that was before December 1967 which is where Retro TV started airing). If an actor has to be off for some reason, usually the character is sent out of town.
  13. Kim Lankford (Ginger, KL) was interviewed on Dateline last night. They were doing a special about Robert Durst, and Kim was friends with his alleged murder victim Susan Berman. Kim herself was rumored to have once dated Durst. She wasn't mentioned as an actress, just a friend of Susan Berman's. They showed a clip of Kim with her horses, and with that red hair and smile I would have recognized her even before they said her name.

  15. Honey, YOU should be running their website!!!! You'd do a much better job.
  16. The men's club story sounds interesting and I have no doubt that Anna Stuart would have completely sold it.
  17. Maureen Mooney, who was on GL from 1975-79, appeared as a candy striper in one of today's Retro TV reruns of The Doctors. In the early 80s, she would appear in a Brim Coffee commercial with Liz Hubbard.
  18. Maureen Mooney, who appeared in today's first episode as a candy striper, years later was in a Brim Coffee commercial with Liz Hubbard. Here's the aforementioned Hart to Hart episode guest-starring Gerald Gordon. He shows up around the 17:00 mark:
  19. I think that ep is up on YT, and if it is I'll post it on TD thread.
  20. Yesterday, there was a Hart to Hart episode with Gerald Gordon as an FBI agent!!! Gotta love those reruns.
  21. Since we are rapidly approaching the Virginia Vestoff episodes, here she is singing "Yours, Yours, Yours" from 1776 with William Daniels at the Tonys: I wonder if with the recast of Althea, they are going to do anything to alter Penny's hair, since Jami Fields had to wear a blond wig to look more like Liz Hubbard. Jami's real hair color is reddish, similar to Virginia's.
  22. Speaking of Virginia Vestoff, here she is with William Daniels at the Tonys singing "Yours, Yours, Yours" from 1776:
  23. She sounds like a character from a soap - married to a wealthy man, an expensive art collection...
  24. Yes, it is. It is a yellow cover, and other soap stars of the day on the cover are James Mitchell and Joel Crothers. Thanks!!
