  1. Nurse Ginny is the younger black nurse. She bumped into Dr. Ed Stark when he first started at Hope as Nick's lab assistant, and it was hinted that they might be paired off but nothing ever came of it. We also got to see her, Carolee and Nurse Wheeler in civilian clothes for Althea's bridal shower at the Powers house.
  2. That's too funny. No wonder Gerald Gordon left after that story wrapped up!! (But did come back briefly about a year later.) Getting back to Loving, didn't Geraldine write for the show at one point?
  3. I can only imagine her reactions to "Obonda Fever".
  4. Nurse Wheeler is the queen of the side eye. Her reactions to Steve have also been priceless.
  5. That's true: http://www.anotherworldhomepage.com/1flo.html
  6. Yeah, her kids mention in their book that Ann asked them to record her shows when they got a VCR.
  7. He looks and sounds great. Thanks for sharing.
  8. The past week's worth of episodes have been nothing short of amazing, from the acting to the depiction of surgery. The operations we've seen thus far have looked frighteningly real. I also loved how Matt kept calm through the whole process (from helping Nick search for Althea, to snapping into action to get help for her once she is found, and trying to be strong for Nick, Penny, Maggie...). If the Daytime Emmys had existed back then, there's no doubt in my mind that Gerald Gordon would have won if just for these episodes alone.
  9. I can't get over how young Rena Sofer is here. She looks just like a kid!!!
  10. I looked on various sites and it appears that Jennifer Warren is still with us. She was also great in a memorable Bob Newhart Show episode where she plays a talk show host who completely skewers Bob ("Who is Mr. X?"). If you haven't seen it, see it!! Bob Newhart and the late Marcia Wallace supplied commentary for that ep on the Season 4 DVD. Now back to your regularly scheduled RH thread...;-)
  11. Thanks. I read about it in an old soap book I have - his condition made him pass out at his wedding to Tara.
  12. Carl, would you be able to post any screen caps from his cameo on TD? Funny that his two biggest roles would be as cops - on KL and before that, Kojak.
  13. No problem!! Jami wrote me a very sweet letter a couple of months ago and autographed the screen caps I made of her as "Penny". She hadn't known that Retro TV was airing the reruns, but she now has a few friends who are watching - one of them records the episodes for Jami. I wonder what she thinks of herself now playing such a bratty teen!! LOL Yes, she was indeed a very talented young actress. 90% of her scenes were with LH and/or GG, and I don't think every juvenile actor could hold their own opposite those two. After she retired from acting, she worked as an assistant to the producer in the early 80s at GL and ATWT. Ironically, she left ATWT just before LH joined the cast!! Today, Jami is the acting president of The Twelfth Night Club in NYC. Click on these links, and you'll see what she looks like now. Even without the blond wig they made her wear on TD to look more like La Liz, I think they look even more like mother and daughter now!!!! http://twelfthnightclub.org/meet-the-presidents/ http://twelfthnightclub.org/club-activities/recent-productions/
  14. She was very cute and charismatic.
  15. I actually did some research, and Jami Fields was indeed 13 (nearly 14) at this time (born 7/19/1955).
  16. In a couple of reruns of The Doctors (from May 1969) that aired on Retro TV this week, a very young Kevin Dobson played a cop.
  17. Thanks for posting that. I wish there was more of her as Alice available. Other than a few clips on YT, there's not much online.
  18. Me, too. I loved Ice Castles!!!
  19. I agree about how well Liz was able to play the mom to her on-screen kids - especially considering that in 1969, she had yet to become a mother in real life!! (Her only child, a son, was born in 1971.) She had the same maternal vibe with Jami Fields' Penny that she later had with Martha Byrne's Lily (and Martha Byrne wasn't even born yet in early 1969!!). Speaking of Liz, Carl, have you found the Brim commercial yet (sorry to be a nag)?
  20. Lots of riveting drama these past few episodes...Florence Williams will be returning as Edna Hamilton to be there for her daughter, Althea. I'm glad that Matt quickly figured out that Townsend was involved in Althea's injury, because I thought no one would connect the dots for weeks (which is what would happen today).
  21. Thanks for the writeup on Christian Slater and his dad. I was watching his interview with Jimmy Fallon the other night, and found myself wondering about that. In any case, I'm glad that the two have mended fences, and that Christian himself seems to be doing well after his many brushes with the law, etc.
  22. Thanks again for sharing those clippings. Carol Roux is one of those daytime players of the past I've always been curious about, especially since she just seemingly dropped off the radar screen early on.
