  1. 1970's Y&R....I don't think Katherine ever interacted with the Brooks family.
  2. Thanks for that information.
  3. I think they mean Cindy Grover. A error in the original article as Griver.
  4. I googled the Ted character, doesn't he cause Patti to be paralyzed ?
  5. Kristin Sheppard. Katherine Wentworth Abby Cunningham Sue Ellen Ewing Alexis Carrington Colby Sable Colby Fallon Carrington Colby (early seasons with Pamela Sue Martin playing her as a bitch). Jill Bennett Stephanie Forrester Angela Channing Jill Foster Abbott Katherine Chancellor Lucille Wexler
  6. After the Behind The Music aired, Victoria appeared on Donny & Marie's late 90's talk show. Marie who had dated Andy early on told Victoria she thought Victoria was the best thing that ever happened to Andy. Victoria said she just let the public crucify her for years, but when the documentary was done, she decided to speak her peace once and for all about what really happened.
  7. I agree. Some people do treat their jobs as an extension of their social life. I like joking around and cutting up, but when you watch those behind the scenes reels, I can see how it would get old quickly. Trying to do scenes take after take and move on and having them screwed up because your scene partner needs to make a funny. I'm kind of surpised they got any work done with Larry and Patrick constant antics. As for Victoria, I can't make a judgment myself about what she was like behind the scenes, but the other actors tread on egg shells when she is brought up.
  8. I take it Larry was a lot like George Peppard. Their sets were a mans world/playground. The year Patrick Duffy and Leonard Katzman were gone the women were getting a lot of screen time and meaty storylines. Larry raised hell about that with Lorimar and wanted Patrick and Leonard back so they could go back to their playground antics. Katzman was given full control of the show by Lorimar and Phillip Capice was ousted. The show never really recovered from that it's all a dream crap and Victoria and her character Pam became a laughing stock. I also feel Victoria resented having the show that was built around her character being re-built around J.R & Sue Ellen after the first 5 episodes. She commented in an interview " That Pam was cleaned up from what she originally was".
  9. I did see the phone call for the 40th. I notice most of the cast does not sing her praises like " Victoria was a lot of fun, or me and Victoria use to hang out etc....It is implied that after she filmed her scenes, she was off living her private life and did not pal around with the rest of the cast. It also appears she was very vocal behind the scenes. There was a People magazine interview with her for the 40th where she said she was an outsider/loner and the rest of the cast was married with families of their own. She had different interests and focused on her acting career and business ventures (cosmetics etc...). A lot of people became disenchanted with her after she had a very public break up with Andy Gibb. She quickly married Dr. Harry Glassman shortly after while Andy spiraled out of control with drug addiction. The public blamed her for his drug problems and eventual death. Joan Rivers stated she had Victoria's number and called her bitch.
  10. It's been 30 years since the original show went off, but other cast member seem to be afraid to piss off Victoria. What I can gather is she was the closest to Ken Kercheval out of the cast. John Beck (Marl Graison) said he preferred working with Linda Gray than Victoria.
  11. I just thought I would share this hilarious review from a fragrance website of someone who found a bottle of Forever Krystle perfume. From 2010** "My darling Krystle, I've had this fragrance created especially for you. I think it's as beautiful as you are. Every time you wear it, remember: I love you forever." Imagine my excitement when I found a new bottle of this at a local pharmacy that also had a full display of Max Factor makeup from the seventies. I inquired about it and the pharmacist said that it had been sitting there since 1986...a year before I was born. He thought I was crazy when I bought it, but how could I not? I'm a huge Dynasty fan, and already have the nightmarish Linda Evans Rejuvenique facial toning system displayed proudly on my bookshelf. It's about what I expected, meaning 80s drugstore, meaning still better than most of what is released for higher prices today. It's similar to Vanderbilt in that it's a loud, powdery vanilla rose, but what I like is the extreme muskiness of it. The composition feels to be about 50% musk, and a slightly foetid musk that they might not use anymore- it's certainly not detergent-like or clean-smelling at all. Yes, it's gauche and cheap, but this is in keeping with the woman it's named after. I love that before Liz Taylor kicked off the celebrity perfume trend, this fragrance based on a soap opera character was released and garnered a faithful fan base. The commercial for it is a masterpiece of cheesecloth and syrupy sentiment. Now to seek out its male counterpart, Carrington--I bet it's lovely. Joan Collins also served as the face of Revlon's Scoundrel Musk and released her own fragrance, Spectacular, which is civety, powdery purple dupe of Elizabeth Taylor's Passion. Incidentally, Krystle has much better taste on the show; it is mentioned several times that she wears Bal a Versailles, and at one point Alexis lures Blake to Rome, "bathed in Bal a Versailles," as she says, to seduce him away from Krystle. Celebrate the love that lives forever.
  12. Ken is squirming as Joan keeps dialing Victoria. He was probably thiking " There will be hell to pay with Victoria if I get involved with Joan's shenanigans. He kept telling her " We get along" There is a clip of Joan interviewing Victoria herself a few years prior (around 1983) and Joan pretty much tells her to her face through jokes that she thinks she is a gold digging bitch and slut who lies about her age. She accuses Victoria of being born in the 1940's instead of 1950. She also rips on her for dumping Andy Gibb. I always thought Victoria seemed to be a nice down to earth woman much like her character Pamela Barnes Ewing, but over the years I have seen clips, interviews etc...with other cast members that paint quite a different picture. I saw a Mike Douglas clip where he asks Steve Kanaly and Joan Van Ark about rumors of Victoria and they kind of danced around it saying she was a strong woman who knew what she wanted and was a loner etc...Audrey Lander seemed to dance around that question as well in the above interview clip. A few years ago Victoria pulled a gun on her maide over a dog. Yikes !
  13. It does have a low budget cable look to it. The acting is pretty bad. I will say the house in the closing credits is beautiful. Like a rip off of Southfork from Dallas. I noticed the episode was directed by Edward Mallory (I assume the same that played Bill Horton on Days).
  14. Paul Tulley would return to Y&R in 1981 as crazy Edward. He also has a listing on IMDB for being on Y&R again in 1997. Who did he play or was it a flashback credit ? He appeared in several daytime and primetime soap roles. He played the teacher Lucy accused of attempted rape on Dallas in 1978 and returned in another role in 1986. Here he is today.
  15. Speaking of Lezlie Dalton, I love watching her in classic GL as Elizabeth Spaulding. She had a breathy Jackie Kennedy type voice and demeanor. She should have been brought back in later years of that show. I don't know if Dalton was ever approached or declined to return to daytime. I saw she had a short stint on Search For Tomorrow around 1982/83.
  16. 1979 commercial with Erin Gray & Peter Bergman.
  17. I ran across this video from the late 90's or early 2000's a while back. It's pretty popular for people into ASMR. When I first saw it I kept waiting for Fran Drescher to come out and yell " MA !"
  18. Frank Bernard (Marc Mergeron) commercial 1984
  19. Helen Gallagher commercial 1968.
  20. He comes across a self important and conceited. Most people found his writing terrible.
  21. https://interviews.televisionacademy.com/interviews/james-lipton?clip=111887#show-clips You can click on the tabs at the bottom to go to the soap discussions. I went back and watched a bit more after I posted and he tells the interviewer " I implore you to move on and and ask more important questions" He does go into Guiding Light with more depth and about Irna". I don't know if he was just getting bored talking about soaps, embarrassed, wanted to brag about what he considered his big projects or was on a tight schedule. It just a comes off kind of snotty in places for me.
  22. I ran across James Lipton's interview on the Archive Of American Television site, and I could not sit through it. He was pretentious and arrogant when asked about his time on soaps. The interviewer wanted to go in depth and Lipton quickly cut him off and said " Your spending too much time on this subject and that when he was in daytime he felt he gave it his all, but he has done far greater things compared to that. He did talk a bit about Irna and that she knew how to plot out storylines better than anyone, but said she could not write dialogue to save her life. He then mentioned how she taught him the ropes and was training Agnes Nixon and Bill Bell.
  23. I remember when Lorie returned in the early 2000's and someone commented on the message boards that she was still sauntering her tired old ass like she did back in the 1970's.......LOL I always wondered why Bill Bell had Lucas talk like the guys on 70's Mod Squad " Lorie I have something heavy to lay on you, real heavy".
