  1. Speaking of episodes written by the scabs, this one has a very weird scene with Barbara and Hal walking through space @ 3:12. I wonder whose idea was this?!
  2. ...Aaaannnd, Stan is flopping.
  3. Andy versus the one player who could possibly prevent a Murray/Djokovic final-Stan Wawrinka and that's if Stan feels like playing, any given match-day.
  4. Wanna know why Black people by and large, weren't checking for Bernie? He was basically a one-issue candidate and that one issue wasn't speaking to most Blacks in America.
  5. Jeff Sessions, once deemed too racist to be a judge is on the short list for attorney general. H-A-L-P.
  6. @SoapsudsActually, I am watching a bunch of episodes from early '88 and in the beginning, during mid- late '87 Lucinda was enamored of Pam, I remember during the James Stenbeck alleged murder investigation when John had walked out on Lucinda after Lucinda revealed that she had been hiding the fact that James was back in Oakdale, Lucinda begged Pam not to abandon her like the others. If Lucinda ignored Pam it would've had to be much later on, like somewhere closer to when the characters Pam and Beau were being dropped. I think when I was a kid and I saw the Pam and Beau and Laura Simmons stuff was boring, it was obviously out of place with Marland's style of writing but with the dreck that passes for storytelling in today's soaps, this storyline actually seems interesting in comparison.
  7. I hope that Tiafoe and Mmoh will do their best to be multi-surface, multi-dimensional players instead of one-dimensional forehand/serve players like Isner. Tiafoe is being coached by Jose Higueras (I think) who used to coach Jim Courier and Higueras ran the FL component of the USTA for a few years and I think he oversaw the installation of several clay courts there so I hope this means that Frances will get more experience on clay than the previous generation of American ATP players. Hopefully Mmoh will embrace the clay as well. Because of all the clay courts that Higueras had installed, I no longer think that it's critical to go to Spain like they used to do but the previous generation definitely should have gone to Spain and spent some time training on the clay. Donald Young, for example probably would've benefited from developing a clay game with his skill-set but he didn't want to leave Mommy and Daddy.
  8. @SoapsudsI wondered the same thing about the Quote feature earlier this week! It seems to be missing.
  9. Speaking of tennis and politics, really interesting blog post on both, and why one ardent tennis fan cannot support certain American ATP players. Post-Trump Tennis Fandom Thiem is certainly talented but I've noticed during this tournament that Dominic seems to have this 2nd set lapse, where he either loses his way or fades a bit. I don't know whether this has been an ongoing issue or whether it just happened since this tournament.
  10. @Soapsuds I'm guessing that the Women's Final ratings were probably equally bad.
  11. Oh no, in my circle, plenty of people have mentioned those U.S. Open ratings! On the Women's side, I assume you mean the Finals because didn't Serena make it to the SFs? To be fair, Stan beating Novak did make the Men's Final somewhat interesting. This WTF, people have told me that the Doubles have made for the most interesting matches. But there's always the exho season, right? @FaulknerI read that Monica (never takes the medal from around her neck) Puig is going to play an exhibition in Puerto Rico against Meldonium Dopapova. Sorry, that's mean but I couldn't resist! This happened today.
  12. I meant the WTF this year but come to think of it 2016 tennis has been odd, to say the least. Not even because of the absence of Roger, Rafa or Serena, just the multiplicity of odd events that have happened. Literally sex, drugs and death!
  13. This year has been sort of underwhelming.
  14. @ChitHappensMonfils who has been injured for weeks.
  15. Looking at the Djokovic vs. Goffin score. What is Goffin doing? I guess I could try the livestream but I probably shouldn't and in the end, it probably won't be worth the effort.
  16. Speaking of the e-mails
  17. GOP senator: Investigate Russia Oh now, they want to investigate this?!
  18. China Tells Trump That Climate Change Is No Hoax It Invented speaking of environmental issues: This is where Obama’s hugely ambitious climate policies were headed — before Trump and
  19. I love Kei but I can't with him sometimes. Dragging out these points are not good for him. Murray will moan, mutter to himself, clutch at his calves and he's still gonna run around for days to win a set or even a point. Kei's body will break down when he plays that way. Unless it's clay, Kei should be looking to stay aggressive and finish points relatively quickly, yet he often doesn't. The most irksome thing is that Kei is always a few tantalizing points away from winning big but doesn't!
  20. I read that the Murray vs. Nishikori match lasted over 3 hours and that Kei squandered quite a few opportunities to win in straight sets. Of course!
  21. I read that article this morning and CBS This Morning, I think, referenced the same article. There have been other newspapers and media that have been writing about the same thing. It's obvious that things are a mess.
