The Netherlands and Iceland were ok. Denmark too I guess, but I don't like when a song ends that abruptly. They should be able to construct the song better than that. Australia - meh..... Germany, sorry that is not my cup of tea at all. It's not the absolute worst entry this year, but it's definitely among the worst in my opinion. I'm not sure she hit a single note correctly in the second half of that performance.

I thought that Luxembourg's entry was simply a cheeky homage to France Gall's 1965 winner, but apparently there's a stronger connection between them. France's song was about how female singers at the time were being treated like puppets and controlled by men. (A bit ironic since the song was written by Serge Gainsbourg, who had that role in France Gall's early career and whose relation to her collapsed to the point where she subsequently refused to sing his material again) Laura's song is about the puppet finding her own voice and not letting herself be controlled.

Knowing how Russia operates it's surprising that he has survived this long.
