  1. Thank you very much. I hadn't seen those episodes in over 20 years, since they aired here the first time. I'm so glad that both Dolly and Matt got to leave Beckindale alive, unlike so many other members of the extended Sugden family. And the mere mention of Deena Payne still makes me angry. The way Viv and Terry were discarded was so sad and unnecessary.
  2. That would be lovely. Everything with pre-Dingle Emmerdale is always a treat.
  3. Thank you for posting. Seeing a Dingle-free Beckindale is always a treat. I could have done without the McAllisters though. I never really liked them either, especially the kids.
  4. This is appalling! His staff can come up with any lame excuse they want, he knew exactly what he was saying. He chose his words with care so they could be interpreted in different ways, and he was very well aware of that. There are a lot of sickos out there, and I just wonder what kind of pathetic excuse Trump and his staff would come up with if someone actually shot Hillary.
  5. Amen!! I hate that family with a passion, and it infuriates me that they just multiply. Even if one or two leaves, there's always a second-cousin once removed or something like that who pops up and settles in the village. I know that Sandie had a daughter (and yes I did get to see those great episodes before they were taken down), but I was under the impression that she gave her up for adoption. That's why she left for a while in 1983-84, to have her child away from Beckindale, and from Pat who wasn't all that supportive from what I gather. But even without that child Sandie could now have kids that would be in their early to mid-20s. And as you point out, she has a history with Eric that could be revisited.
  6. Andy's never been a favourite of mine, but if he really is leaving it will still be a sad moment. Another Sugden gone.... But there are ways to beef up that family. Robert has a half-sister, Sandie, who moved to Scotland in 1989. She could be re-introduced, and by this time she could have children and thereby bring in a new generation. Or, as I've said before, they could bring back Sam Skilbeck. Maybe he could buy Home Farm now that the Whites are in disarray. And that would also mean an opportunity to have Matt and/or Dolly back on occasion. I don't think Frederick Pyne or Katharine Barker/Jean Rogers would be interested in coming back fulltime, but they could visit. It would tie the current show a little bit more to the past.
  7. Novak Djokovic is out!! http://www.bbc.com/sport/tennis/36691155
  8. Today marks the 100th birthday of Olivia de Havilland. One of the last from Hollywood's golden age. I think we all wish her a happy birthday.
  9. I wonder how Amos and Henry would feel about it!
  10. British MP dead after shooting and stabbing attack. It looks like it might be connected to the Brexit campaign going on at the moment. http://www.bbc.com/news/uk-england-36550304
  11. The 22nd Grand Slam title continues to elude Serena Williams. Garbine Muguruza wins the French Open, 7-5 6-4, and becomes the first Spanish female champion since 1998. http://www.bbc.com/sport/tennis/36452385
