That's ridiculous. I can't understand why people still can't separate actor from character.... I mean, heaven knows that I loathe and despise any and all Dingles on this show. But I would never let those feelings spill over from the characters to the actors playing the Dingles. For all I know they could be the most lovely people. But I'm not interested in them. It's the characters I care (or don't care) about.

I agree with the ban too. It's easy to say that politics and sports should be kept apart, but the truth is that it doesn't work that way. Sports has been used for political purposes for ages. It's a source of national pride and a way to foster a sense of national unity. Yes, it may be hard and unfair for the individual athletes, but every time someone uses that as an argument I think of the Ukrainian people. They're the ones who deserve our sympathy. Not Russian and Belorussian athletes. And if a ban can shorten the war in any way then it's worth it.

The Meena storyline is finally coming to an end and Emmerdale producer Kate Brooks has given an interview about it, and this little quote stood out to me, and it explains so much about why this show is the way it is now.... Lachlan has only been gone since 2019. I don't think 3 years is long enough to warrant a new serial killer storyline. We're dealing with a small Yorkshire village here, not New York City!! And that comment about looking for the next 'watercooler moment' story explains why this show is so completely plot-driven now. It just hops from plot to plot to plot. You used to get the feeling that these were real people living their lives and things happened around them. Now they just feel like characters playing out whatever plot they're being written into. And it sucks!

Such a dilemma. On one hand, I'm tired of Meena and her crime spree and I want her story to end, but on the other hand, she is a non-Dingle getting screentime.....

I guess you mean join NATO? We've been members of the EU since 1995, both Finland and Sweden. The funny thing is that, prior to Russia's war against Ukraine I don't think either Finland or Sweden seriously considered joining NATO. Finland has always tried to keep its relation with the Soviet Union and later Russia very friendly, and we here in Sweden have been very proud of our long neutrality and our position as a non-aligned country. But with Russia becoming increasingly hostile, and with the invasion of Ukraine, I think that, for the first time, the possibility of a Russian assault of some kind doesn't seem as far-fetched as it used to. Very early during the Russian invasion there were warnings coming out of the Kremlin that all those who supported Ukraine should be prepared to suffer the consequences. So if we (Finland and Sweden) do decide to apply for NATO membership (and it is looking increasingly likely) then the Russians have only themselves to blame.
