  1. Hey, that's the best I've eaten in days. Too bad it's virtual-- I don't really like milk products that much, so I don't normally go after the soy equivalents. (I don't put milk in my cereal--just eat it dry, and the only kind of cheese I like is cream cheese.) Don't know if I'm allergic, intolerant, or just don't like it. (Oh, and I only crave ice cream when it's cold outside. Eating ice cream in hot weather makes me sick.) Weird, I know. But that's where I am. And the zucchini bread--oh, lady, you just made my weekend. So. No TQ this week at all, huh? But, we DO get SOILY, Lucky and Maxie doing the Yucky together, Sam slutting it up with her step-daddy, and Patrick infecting himself with AIDS. Why do we watch this show again? Oh, yeah...>TRACY< Maybe next week...
  2. *peeking in* Wow, the conversation has gotten very interesting--Tracy/PMS Plot bunnies, anyone? (Oh, dear LAWD, could you imagine that woman with PMS? I mean, seriously? Would you want to be the person who pissed her off during that time of the month?????) As for cousin-loving....I come from Louisiana and am living in Kentucky. I had to move away from Louisiana- given the size of my family (my adoptive father is one of 11 children, my biological mother is one of 10 children, and my adoptive mother and her siblings managed to produce 26 grandchildren between them), the chance of my dating a blood or adoptive relative was just too damned high. Texas, Arkansas and Mississippi were too risky, as well. To be honest, Fey scared me when she told me she had an aunt in Louisiana, but I'm just not doing the geneology, okay? (My dad's third wife found out that she's my mom's -- his first wife - second cousin. It's just that close genetically.) But to know it and to still go there? No, I don't think so. I mean, technically they are not related. But think about it--his mom and her dad are married, and even though it's mainly platonic right now, what do you think it would be like if it got more serious? I mean, it's hard enough imagining your parents getting nasty. Could you imagine how freaky it would be if it were you and your boyfriend's parents getting nasty? Oh, I don't freakin' think so. Anyway, I'm just talking out my head now. Please tell me TQs on today? Please? And can we have some cheese-free bread in the breakroom? I'm totally allergic. And a vegetarian, so the ham is out, too..... ETA: No, it's TRACY! Yeah, and it's Coleman's baby, but she and Luke are pretending it's his, and it's causing them to grow closer... No, wait. That's the plot to "Oh, Baby...." Never mind.
  3. Damn, I go away for one evening and you guys post the living DAYLIGHTS out of this place! I'm totally agreeing with the commentary so far--coming to the point of "some Tracy is better than no Tracy," even if it's just in a Bobbie-esque capacity. Now before you guys start throwing delicious herb-crusted whole-grain toast at me (*yay* Keith brought the breadmaker back!), let me explain. Now I love me some Jackie Zemen--she's pretty and funny (even with the too-obvious plastic surgery) and her character has spunk. Now, Jackie is no Jane Elliot--she is not the actress Jane is, nor does she have the "presence" Jane has. Given the same air time and opportunity, I believe that Jane could be fine (whereas poor Jackie just gets lost). She'd be like that musical sting in movie scores--you never know when it's coming, but when you've heard it, you always get chills. Jane shows up and delivers a flesh-tinglingly wicked speech, cutting some bimbo (pick one--Sam, Emily, you name it) to shreds. -DADA DUMMMMMMMMM - Tracy arrives and manages to figure out in ten seconds the plot that Stupid Airhead Regular has been stumbling over cluelessly for six weeks. - DADA DUMMMMMMMM - Jane can make any scene worth watching, imho. She's just that good. So even if her air time was almost nil (hell, BobbieLand), she'd still be worth looking for when she's on. Face it, how many of us on this board are still watching every scene of every show? I know I'm not. If you guys tell me TQs not on, I just rewind the tape and set it for tomorrow. I'm sure I'm not the only one. So Jane going on recurring status would not be horrible. LaineyBev, thank you for the vote of confidence on the stories. I get so many comments from well-meaning friends who say, wow, if only your wrote *real* fiction instead of wasting your time on fanfic, you could be a really great writer. Yeah, get's old after a while. So your comment on how hard it was to get established characters to sound right was really gratifying. I'm really looking forward to your fic, especially since I haven't written a single ficticious word all week and I'm jonesing to write something awful. MsQ, LOL at the icons, especially the last one. Now, I'm off to work, to make bandage supplies available to one and all....Later, Taters.
  4. SPUMOR Discussion I'll be honest with you, I don't like the thought of a Lulu/Dillon pregnancy for so many reasons. The obvious being, I'm not a big fan of teen pregnancy stories. Then, there's the whole, ew, they're step-siblings and that just squicks me. And while we're going there, how strange would it be for Luke and Tracy if they were to solidify their love and have children who produced a grand-child together? I mean, it's a little too back-woods for me. Finally, I totttttaaaaaallllyyyyy agree with ILTQ when she says Luke *cannot* be forced to stay with Tracy; he has to (in the end) choose to stay with her. That's the only way it will work, the only way it will be satisfying for the fans. Besides, a child from Lulu and Dillon would do more to destroy Luke/Tracy than bind them together. If they became a "real" couple, with Lulu pregnant, that would strenghten the feeling of incest. By becoming more traditionally in love, and strengthening their marriage, Tracy and Luke would also strengthen the feeling of siblingness (????) between Dillon and Lulu--if not to them, to outsiders. And that would cause SERIOUS problems with how the "family" was perceived.
  5. Hey, wow--lots of posts since last time. Feeling the lurve, feeling the frustration. No big Tracy stuff to post about--visit with my dad yesterday--he's still charming, still my dad. No further comments. Big domestic blow-up last night when we got home--not wanting to talk about it, just...lawd..... No fic worked on in the last two days. Sorry. From yesterday's episode? Dillon, you're a bloody fool and a hypocrite, and I hope you get your butt chewed out very, very soon (preferably by your Mommy). The rest of it? Muckie!sex, Jason/Sam/Alexis/Ric, SOILY and ooooh---Scrubs (fast becoming my least favorite SL on the show)??? Ugh. I watched everything but the Dillon/Georgie/Lulu scenes on fast-forward, and I STILL was disgusted by yesterday's episode. Definitely want Tracy on the show soon. Please?
  6. coolkid, back when I first met my girlfriend (back in 2000), she was a huge Sonny/Carly shipper. She forced encouraged me to watch a few episodes with them, and I thought he was okay. Pretty handsome, a decent enough actor (lawd, what happened to him in six years?), and an interesting storyline. (Of course, there was no Tracy Quartermaine on at that time, so there was no risk at all of me getting hooked. ) My only *real* problem with Sonny is that they have overused him without actually benefitting the character. I thought he was pretty interesting in 2000; now I just want to scream any time he comes on screen. His entire character has disintegrated. But enough about Sonny--more Tracyyyyyy!!!!! MsQ, I would pay a week's salary to see Tracy Freakin' Quartermaine in a bowling alley. I'd pay a month's salary to actually see her bowling--with rented shoes and all. LMFAO. Also--the dog collar--*blinks* okay, I don't see it like that, but I can see where you'd get it. I noticed that she has been wearing necklaces like that for years. Check out the Lila flashback in the memorial episode--that was over ten years ago, and she's wearing the exact same necklace. (Or should I say collar? Not only dogs wear collars, but I'm not going to elaborate on my theories about Tracy's latent sexual tendencies......) angel2devil, let us know when "Beautiful Disaster" is updated, 'kay????? ILoveTracyQ, were you the one who had a bad online day yesterday? If so, HUGGLES TO YOU. If not, HUGGLES TO YOU and the person who had the bad day. Keith, dude where are you hiding? I know this place is overrun with women, but you don't have to hide. Besides, the breadmaker's stuck and we totally need something to go with lunch.
  7. Stockard, Mary, and now Jane. Oh, damn, now there's a trio--Stockard Channing, Mary (SIGH.....) McDonnell, and Jane Elliot. Three different flavors of strong female sexiness. I hate that we've had no TQ this week--didn't I see Miss Georgie on today? And aren't Dillon and Lulu in the spoilers for tomorrow? Maybe we'll luck out. In the meantime...here are some images to remind you why we love her... ETA: TIIC need to put TracyQ on the show soon, or several members of this forum will implode just from thinking about her...and olives....and dreams..... Wishes I had a TQ/JE dream to tell you about. I've never dreamed about her. Fantasies are a whole nother topic, but this is a family-friendly thread, isn't it? ETA: Pic #3 is one of my all-time favorite Tracy images. Thought you'd like to know.
  8. It's true. tracyluver is the source of all evil. Got your PM, woman. You are truly sadistic. *dreams of olives, and I hate olives....* Any TQ on today? Of course, there's no TQ on today. That would mean TIIC had brains. But they don't. Don't kid me, folks. There's no TQ on today, is there?
  9. I remember reading that...... No, Tracy isn't a corporate spy. She's a SOOPER SEKRIT SPY, with a Batgirl-esque utility belt and X-ray glasses. (No wonder she was staring at Alcazar so strangely--who knew he favored frilly pink undies??) I'm in a foolish mood. Anybody working on anything new? Vids, fics, anything? Anybody need a beta reader? (MsQ--you can still send me your Anniversary story to review if you'd like.) Like I told MsQ, I'm really sick of reading my own writing--I'd love to read something Tracy by somebody else. Anybody hear any good spoilers, rumors, etc? Anybody have anything interesting to say about TQ, JE, GH or any other letters of the alphabet that may be hanging around? Gawd, I'm so bored....... ETA: In the completely pointless department--did you know Tracy is married to a younger man? That's right, JE is older than Tony Geary...by four months. Her birthday is January 17, 1947 (Capricorn) and his birthday is May 29, 1947 (Gemini). (Oh, and if you know *anything* about astrology, you will totally GET his comment about hard-working Capricorn Jane kicking his lazy Gemini ass when he phones in his performances! LOL. I can say that, because I'm a lazy Gemini myself--with a Capricorn moon!)
  10. I don't think they get our olive thing, Regency. *giggle* ETA: Nex4Eva! It took me four times to download "Oooh-la-la," but it was worth the effort. Much with the prettiness, and just a fun video. I want to watch it again when I can use full volume (6:30 am is not the time for music videos in my house), but I really liked what I've seen so far.
  11. Chapter 51. Oh, Baby. Best--Chapter--EVAH! *HUGS COMPUTER* Oh, and regency says she's working on Olive!Sex Tracyfic. *squees* Is this my reward for being nice to my dad this week? And for letting Fey's mom borrow my car? It must be. *hugs computer again* Oh, and MsQ, if you say it's accident, I'll go ahead and fix it when I have a chance. Don't want to misquote the Divine Ms. E!
  12. MsQ, in reply to your question about JE attending fan events. Personally, I say brava to her. I cut my teeth in Star Trek fandom, where the actors are shuffled around from SF convention to SF convention. Some are pressured to do them, others obviously love doing them, and still others are just in it for the bucks. (It's easy to tell the difference.) Having been to dozens of conventions in my life, I can tell you I've seen pretty much everything that can happen (or at least heard about it second hand). I've seen actors suffer through insipid, repetitive Q&A sessions with fans who have lots of trouble telling the difference between the actors and the characters they play. I've seen actors mobbed by fans. I've seen actors buffetted by auditoriums full of people, just overwhelmed by the love and approval and affection they receive. I've seen very good and very bad things, and everything in between. Being an actress or actor does not OBLIGATE you to make personal appearances. Garbo and Hepburn made a career of avoiding their adoring public, and the world immortalized them anyway. I say it takes a lot of self-awareness and strength in that particular industry to put your foot down, to draw your boundaries, and to not cross them no matter what. Jane is admittedly a private person. From what I've seen and read of her, I can't imagine her being comfortable at a big fan event. I can imagine her attending to support a friend--say WK--or a cause, but just a big publicity event? No. Now, there's another side to the coin--what about giving something back to the fans? I mean, we're the ones who keep them in a job, aren't we? Don't the actors owe the fans something? *warning: unpopular opinion ahead* Um, no. The actors don't owe the fans a damn thing. They give the fans their work, their creations, their art (if a word can be used in reference to television acting today.) IMHO, an actors *responsibility* to his or her fans ends the moment the director says "Cut" and "Wrap." Now, many actors (who are notorious attention junkies as a general rule) will want to give more to their fans, mainly because, well, it's a rush to be surrounded by hundreds, even thousands of people who think you are teh sheet! They will go to conventions, public appearances, etc., and soak in teh lurve. This gives fans, especially those who regularly attend these things, a certain sense of entitlement. Like the fact that we see these people on TV gives us certain proprietary rights to the actors who created the characters we love. I saw it at SF conventions all the time--this arrogance among fans--how DARE he/she not show up for the meet and greet? Who does he/she think they are? Well, they're private citizens who deserve to have a life. Outside of their jobs (yeah, it's a job folks), outside their fans, outside of their public lives. Even at conventions, they are due the same basic courtesy and respect you'd given any human being - the right to eat a meal in privacy, the right to walk down a hallway unmolested, the right to choose what vent they attend or do not attend (if they are not contractually obliged to do so). I know I sound harsh--but years of seeing just downright embarrassing fannish behavior around celebrities has sensitized me to the issue. I think JE is totally fine for choosing not to do these things. I think when she does a public event, she does it for her own reasons and in her own time, and that's fine by me. As long as she shows up for work and gives us a reason to keep watching the show, she can miss as many fan events as she wants to. ETA: Now, don't get me wrong--I love me some celebrities as much as the next person. One of the greatest experiences of my life was talking privately to actor Rene Auberjonois (Odo, Star Trek: DS9) for about fifteen minutes after my singing group finished a concert at a fannish charity event. He was gracious and complimentary and obviously wanted to talk to us--he stopped us to compliment our performance, can you imagine??? I have countless stories of great celebrity encounters from my Star Trek convention days, and I cherish them all. I would LOVE to meet Jane Elliot in person, not just because she plays TQ (although that is a part of it) but because everything I've seen and read of her tells me she's intelligent, creative, fiesty and a person I would like in everyday life. (You know it's good when you'd want to meet a celebrity even if they were working as an accountant...) But I still don't think she's *obligated* to do public appearances. Not that anybody on this board has insinuated such a thing--I'm still on that whole rant from earlier.
  13. MsQ, that video was...oh, my. LOL. Um, that song is just so offensive to me on some levels, but on other levels--I'm a product of the 70s, so I have a certain nostalgic affection for it. I don't think Tracy would appreciate the context of it, or the choice of songs. But wow--I still think that shot where she is leaning back in the chair, getting ready to beckon her "Man" to her for a night of connubial bliss is OOOH too hot. The quote in my sig line....Jane was talking about the differences in being a producer and being an actor. She mentioned something about actors not being paid to have opinions, and that one of the hardest things she has to do when she's acting is to keep her mouth shut. She then said, I know you find that hard to believe, and laughed. And then she made this little gesture, as if looking on some other people doing a scene, and said, "Okay, Jane. Look away from the train wreck." It was really cute, and said a lot about her opinion of some of the other storylines (without ever really insulting anyone--class, she is, that Jane Elliot). Oh, btw, I've gotten to Chapter 10 of the AU story. We have achieved contact--Tracy has interacted with Alan, Ned, Skye, and now Brooke (the granddaughter she didn't know she had). I'm really working to get this done by the end of the month, so I can meet the Catch-Up Challenge deadline. It's taking a lot longer than I expected, so I appreciate your patience. (I never post WIPs, so you'll have to wait until it's done to read it.) Still haven't gotten a bunny for prompt #23, False. Hoping TQ is on this week--fanfic and watching old clips is not enough for me anymore. I want Live TQ Action--All Tracy, All the Time. (A $20 cable bill buys you a seat, but you'll only need the edgggggeeeeee....!) ETA: Waves to Ms.Q. Are you on AIM?
  14. I was just rewatching some of my clips--June 28, 2006 (Tracy and Luke kiss after Justus' funeral), July 4, 2006 (Tracy tells off Alcazar), and DOOL Justin and Anjelica seduction scenes. I've seen what JE can do with lousy dialogue (forgive me, Keith, I know you're a fan, but the DOOL clip sucked). She's okay, given the severe limitations of the character and the pairing. I've seen what she can do with excellent dialogue (yeah, the scenes with Luke and Alcazar were excellent, even though she was just a sounding board for the Luke scene). Frankly? I'll take excellent dialogue, thank you. So, if this guy is as good as you say he is, yeah, bring him on. And if they want to hire on Quinn Redeker (a man who could make the best of even the crappiest dialogue) and Lane Davies (who can outsnark even Tracy herself, in just about any character) to play with Ms. Elliot, I would not complain either. She works best opposite men who are smart, funny, and can match her zinger for zinger. (I'm telling you--Wally Kurth did not do well on DOOL--his zinger was out of whack, and he delivered his "comic" lines with about as much pinache as a grapefruit.) I still haven't come up with my bunny for Prompt #23 yet, but I was having this great mentafic (ooh, thanks Regency, for the perfect term) on the way home last night. Tracy, Lulu, Helena--a gun, a cell phone, and Luke thinking the absolutely wrong thing. I'm going to wait to see how this summer plays out, and if I'm not satisfied with Luke's August return, I may just try to write it. ETA: I just read the transcripts of Tracy's April 2003 episodes. Blows my damned Tracy/Alice femslash story to smithereens. *pouts* Now I have to figure this out. Damn. ETA2: Have any of you ever read this? I don't know why, but it had me LMAO. Maybe it's just a Sunday morning bored-and-hungry thing?
  15. Re Spoiler/Rumor Talk: Who is PM, and why should I be happy about the rumor that he's coming back to write for GH?
  16. MsQ--the Gods of Silicon Heaven bestowed a few hours of computer time on me tonight. I still felt too dirty after writing that Paul/Tracy story to actually work on anything else, so ya know what I did? I reread "Oh, Baby." All 49 Chapters! In one sitting! You done REALLY good, kiddo, and I can't wait for it to continue. I noticed the writing style improves with each chapter--you put more detailed narrative, more emotion, more everything into it. I enjoyed it even more the second time through. If anybody here hasn't been reading it, I highly recommend it. "Oh, Baby" rawks....
  17. You know, LaineyBev714, I have to agree with you on that one point--the fewer Qmaines, the more chance TQ has of having screen time. Of course, that's applying logic to the situation. It's quite possible they could pare it down to one or two Quartermaines (Oooh, I vote for Emily and Jason!!!!!! Squeeeeeeeee!), and still not give them any air time. But, for those of us who don't LIKE what TIIC are doing, there's always fanfic. (Nice seque, huh?) New fic: Beggar in the House of Plenty: Prompt #22, Beggar. Tracy tries one last act of desperation with Paul before it all blows up in her face. (Hint: MsQuartermaine, you aren't going to like this one. I just feel it in my gut.) Lots of angst, Tracy playing dubious with ethics, Paul Hornsby being his own spineless self. It ain't pretty, but it's where the prompt brought me. The next prompt is False. I'm not sure what I'm going to do with it. Hopefully, it'll be happier than this one.
  18. Say it LOUD, say it PROUD, Tracyluver! Sounds like you're a powerful broad--the world needs more powerful broads. You're right--I think a lot of us love Tracy because she's faced life's trials with pinache--wish I could say I was as classy dealing with the slings and arrows. Rock on, Tracyluver. Rock on, TracyQ. Rock on, everybody. (Oh, and just so you know--my Fey is a powerful broad too! That why I LURVE her soooo much!)
  19. Actually, my dad looks more like Luke. His personality is a cross between Luke's Peter Pan complex, Alan's brooding, and Edward's temper. Although, he does have Luke's charm, Alan's intellect, and Edward's...well, he loves his grandkids, I think. I can tell you exactly why Tracy gets a way with nothing, and it doesn't have anything to do with a long list of dirty deeds. It's her significant lack of male genitalia. Look at the family dynamic: the first born son, the first born grandson, blahblahblahblahhhhh... Alan lies, cheats, steals, hits and runs--nobody bats an eye. Tracy withholds one little bottle of pills 20 years ago, and she's Cruella frackin' da Ville. Actually, they're all pretty much evil--judging only by their actions. But Tracy never gets cut any slack. I'm telling you, it's because the Qmaines value males above females, and Tracy never got forgiven for *a* not being male, and *b* not being a docile female. Bad Tracy.
  20. Ugh. Edward/Luke/Alan (aka, my dad) is officially coming to visit me. Next Tuesday and Wednesday. (Mind you, I don't see this man for over five years, and he gives me about six days to prepare!) So if I'm scarce around the middle of the week, you'll know why. I agree with pretty much everyone that if Paul came back, TIIC would waste him and squander the storyline potential for Tracy. Yeah, I'm embittered. I guess I was hoping I wouldn't ever have to go there, fanfic wise. It's stormy and yucky out today, so the potential for GH getting pre-empted by weather breaks is fairly high. I'm hoping for TQ *and* no interruptions...we can hope, right? And Keith, you left the breadmaker but didn't leave the power cord. That's not nice! You realize TQ knows you're not the only one around here who likes her enough to make homemade bread for her.....
  21. Question--Everybody talks about reading the daily recaps at SZ. Can anybody post a link, because I couldn't find them today....?
  22. I just talked to Fey, and the electricity for the entire block has been off since 2:30 (it just came on at four). So, if TQ was on GH today, we didn't get it. Dayum. I think Keith is hoarding the bread maker, and doesn't want to share. That's just the kind of guy he is! Sorta on the speculation route....Somebody on the GH group at LiveJournal said that the guy who played Paul Hornsby was leaving OLTL and was perfectly poised to reprise his role on GH, should TIIC choose to ask him. (This is just talk, not spoilers or scoop.) What would you guys think about Paul Hornsby returning to the show? It's a viable plot move, considering Dillon is an adult now and a major character on the show (well, for a character who isn't a mobster or a husband-stealing ho, that is....) I'm torn about it, because frankly, the potential for TQ drama is through the roof if Paul returned, but as someone who has become very fond of this character, I hate the idea. I hate the thought of him back in her life, opening up all that pain, furthering the rift of loyalty between her and Dillon. And if, after everything, Dillon abandoned her to take Paul's side against her, it would kill her. Psychologically, emotionally--it would just kill her, because Dillon is the only person she's really loved since Paul, imho. She's still Tracy, so she can treat him like dirt, use him, manipulate him, whatever, but Dillon is sort of the love of her life in a way. She sacrificed so much to keep him with her, and lawdy, lets him get away with murder..... She loves that boy so much. Remember that episode back in the fall when Lulu was just arriving at the Qmansion? Dillon was talking to Luke about how he would react if Paul Hornsby walked through the door, and the look on Tracy's face was just terrible. It was like the mere mention of his name caused her physical pain. Dillon's back was to oher, and Luke wasn't paying attention. Otherwise, I doubt she would have let the reaction show so visibly. But I'm telling you--the return of Paul Hornsby to Port Charles would be devastating to Tracy..... So....serious drama versus our girl in pain? Which would you chose?
  23. I hadn't noticed the fear at first, but yeah. And I don't think it's because Lulu fears Tracy, cuz she doesn't. I think Lulu is a lot like Tracy in that she fears opening up and making herself vulnerable, because she's been hurt and disappointed so many times. Dayum.... They just *have* to expand this relationship. I really see so much potential there.
  24. CRACK ME UP! I love that article (so much I use the last two lines as my sig quote!) iDid ya'll catch her dig at Dierdre on SoapTalk? She said--bad color I get for free; good color I have to pay for. (Basically teasing Dierdre about not wearing her glasses when she reads the directions on the box of color and messing her hair up twice!) I really have an instinct that Jane would be a great writer. She's naturally witty, and seems to be very aware. Maybe she could publish a short book of acceptance speeches. LOL. Does anybody know what she produced? *smiling, because Jane and I have another thing in common!* When I was in college, I did a lot of acting and working with the college television and radio station. While I enjoyed performing (theater, choir, chamber singers, etc.), I loved going behind the scenes. When I did the television news, we had to cycle through every job throughout the semester. My two favorite jobs were film editing and producing. There's just such a rush to producing--so many things to keep track of, so many irons in the fire. You have to be hyper-focused, alert, think on your feet, and fearless. I can see Jane doing that...wishes she could produce *and* act at the same time. Still want my fantasy sitcom....
  25. *squeeing over the BUSY in this place* I only have a few minutes before work, so let's make this quick-- Yesterday's Ep:Loved, loved, loved Tracy's scenes with Dillon and with Lulu. And the spew shot with Edward will forever be one of my favorite GH moments (that didn't involve Tracy getting seduced/kissed.) Isn't it funny, though? (Prepare for an EQ rant....) If TRACY had been caught shacking up with her step-brother in the boat house at age 17, do you think Edward would have been so sweet and concerned for her safety? Uh...no... While I appreciate his being so grandfatherly to Lulu, I wish he'd channel some of that into being a decent father to Tracy once in a while. And speaking of decent parenting, YAY to Tracy for her overall, clued-in, smart mom of the year performance yesterday. When I think of what they've done to characters like Monica, Bobbie, Alexis--the Clueless Mom with an IQ of 40 Syndrome--I'm sooooooo grateful to see Tracy not being included. It didn't take her long to accurately assess the situation, once she had just enough fo the facts, and it was even less time before she'd had the ball rolling toward resolution. Loved, loved, LOVED the confrontation scene between her and Lulu. Excellently written, perfectly played by both actresses. (Hugs the screen for the little touch of Tracy brushing Lulu's bangs out of her eyes, hugs harder for Lulu's reactions. So perfectly in character for both of them, and I'm willing to be NOT in the script.) My fear, of course, is that they are done with TQ for the week, and that would be bad. But wow--if we're only getting one episode a week, can they continue to be the one's we've been getting? SoapTalk Got the tape last night from my friend and watched it. Coupla observations: The two interviewers (especially the guy) are SO insipid! I would venture to say that the guy is the WORST interviewer I've ever seen on commercial TV. He answers his own questions, leaving the poor guest with nothing left to say but, "yeah" or "you're right." He also thinks he's insightful, which is sooooo wrong. I'm brought to mind of that old Saturday Night Live skit with the two NPR radio hosts who just drone on and on about meaningless stuff, leaving the guests scratching their heads. But Jane. Ah, Jane. My girlfriend, who doesn't give a damn about behind-the-scenes stuff, has fallen for Jane Elliot. That makes me laugh, because Fey just doesn't give a damn about actors as a general rule. But if even she was impressed by Jane... Okay, back to Jane. Every time I see/read an interview with her (even one conducted by two insipid, incompetent interviewers like this one), I'm more impressed with her. She strikes me as bright, articulate, curious, hard-working, and professional. I believe TG when he says she kicks his a## and won't let him phone in a performance. She seems to be a force of nature herself. It was funny to hear Fey talk after the interview--her first comment was, "I didn't like her much at first because, well, she wasn't Tracy." To which I responded (beyotch that I am), "Well, she's an actress." And THAT, boys and girls, is why she looks 10 years younger on SoapTalk than she does on GH. Because JE is 10 years younger than Tracy, in spirit, in attitude, in hard knocks (I'd bet). JE has a family she loves, a job she adores, she seems to be riding on top of the world--and it shows in her face, her body, her attitude, her voice. Tracy is living with a viperous family, surrounded by trouble, in a sexless marriage with a man she doesn't want to love but can't help--dudes, that would age anybody. When we see Jane in the interview, she's relaxed, having fun, digging life. When we see Tracy on the show, she's stressed, worried, and trying to keep things together. It's a testament to Jane's acting skills that the differences are so subtle, yet noticeable. She actually *ages* when she plays Tracy. At least, that's my theory. And of course, you know I can't post a long post without at least MENTIONING the clothes. MEH on the blue jacket from yesterday. It was a blue jacket. The color did absolutely nothing for her, imho, and the cut was forgettable. Sorry, guys. The thing she wore on SoapTalk? Much too much fabric, again, but the color was great and the neckline was interesting. At least it had flair. Hate her hair in that up-do, though. Much prefer it down with the curls. Anyway, gotta leave for work. *fingers crossed for more TQ today*
