The Tracy Quartermaine Lovefest
Hey, ILTQ, thanks for sharing that! Odd how some things happen that stick with us the rest of our lives, huh? I remember little moments from high school (I'm 40, now) sometimes better than things that happened this month. Good news--remember the drama with my dad? Well, he heard from his oncologist, and he doesn't have the ReallyBadNoTreatmentJustTakeCareOfHisPain kind of cancer. He has the HighlyTreatableWillLiveLongEnoughToBeABurdenOnYourChildren kind of cancer. Of course, he still hasn't picked up the damned phone--I get my updates on his life via email. Somebody wanna post a recap on Tracy's scenes today for the shlub at work? Preferably with wardrobe comments? Oooooooh, my friend from work taped Jane's appearance on SoapTalk for me, and I'm dropping by her house (she's on medical leave) tonight to get the tape. Can't do clips, but at least I can see it! *does happy dance at Pretty!Jane* Hey, ILTQ, thanks for sharing that! Odd how some things happen that stick with us the rest of our lives, huh? *does happy dance for spoilers, MsQ's 600th post, and fanfic updates!* Speaking of which: A Brief History of Humanity Prompt #21 New. Tracy has an odd New Year's ritual she doesn't talk about, one that goes all the way back to when she was seventeen. Yeah, ILTQ, more Teen!Tracy. Next prompt might not be as sweet and lovely as the last couple have been...I'm thinking...I'm wondering...if it might just be time to cross *that* bridge. Yup, Paul Hornsby bridge. The prompt is "beggar." Oy. Angst-ahead, maties... *toddles off to read Ch. 27 of Homelands, and the newest Oh, Baby updates.*

Thrilled beyond belief at all the people posting on this thread. *staring at MsQ's banner* I love those pictures. Dayum, I love those pictures. I think I need to go home and watch those clips again..... *sighing over OliveLove!Tracy* Anyhoo--MsQ, could you maybe post pics of these alleged outfits of which you speak? I was watching the first of the Luke Kidnaps Tracy clips you posted (i'm reduced to one download a day, if I'm lucky--argh!) Is the Orange Thing the outfit she wore when she was telling Skye AJ was dead? (Oh, and I loved that scene--Skye: You don't know him at all. Tracy: I knew him when he was getting drunk on Alan's booze, when he was cutting class in school, blahblahblah--which all translates to STFU, skye!) Now, I have to admit, the Green Dragon Lady outfit sounds intriguing. But then, I love most of the clothes she wears - except lately. Even some of the "ten yards of floating jacket" thingies are kinda cool, if the material is right. Sorry ILTQ, for thinking it was MsQ who corrected me about the banishments. I really only knew about three--78 Fake Heart Attack, 93 - Paul Hornsby/Hit And Run, and 96 ? - Taking over ELQ, TQ going to be the star of The City. What was the 2003 banishment over? Wants more Tracy NOW. Nownownownownow! *pets OliveLove!Tracy pic.* Could we have some more scenes like that, please?
-
The Tracy Quartermaine Lovefest
Hey Clickboom and Pestspray, whom I don't know but am happy to meet. MsQ, thanks for the correction on the number of banishments. I guess I missed one in there. (Didn't know she'd been banished again in 2003--just thought she left on her own.) As for the dog--was that storyline more than five years ago? Cuz Precious Pie has only been around five years, and that might have been before her time. Oh, btw, Precious Pie is based on a real Yorkie I knew, by the same name. So much fun writing from an animal's POV. Started the next prompt at lunch--more Teen!Tracy, cuz well--who can get enough of our girl pre-crushing traumas of adult life? So want to see that interview with Jane on Soaptalk. I agree with you--she does look better on those shows than she does on GH. I'm thinking it's makeup, too. JE tends to underdo it, from what I've read--sweats and ponytails for this girl, if she can pull it off. Loved the transcript comment on her limit of two hours in heels per day! Looking forward to Thursday, hoping for TQ before then.

Two new fics: Session Three Prompt #19 - Crazy. Tracy must undergo court-mandated anger management therapy after threatening a traffic cop. Just Like Precious Prompt #20 - Love. Precious Pie Willoughby loves being a dog--especially frolicking with Misstracy in the Damn-Quartermaine's rose garden. Prompt #21 already being written in my head.

Pleasepleaseplease, if somebody gets the clips of Jane on SoapTalk today, please post them here. Re: fic--I have one prompt finished, one hand-written and needing to be input, and another one writing itself in my head while I should be thinking about work. I'd post the finished one, but it's ouf of order, and I want to add more to it when I get a chance. hopefully, I'll have some time to type up my hand-written piece tonight or tomorrow night. Domestic relations have been less than peaceful at Casa Del Minervafan lately, which means less time on the computer and more time out of the house trying to escape the drama. speaking of drama-- SPOILER DISCUSSION The whole Lulu getting shot thing--I could see it bringing Tracy and Luke together, actually, unless it's a Quartermaine at fault. I mean, look at how much the whole Monkey Fever incident got them together--for a while at least. I rewatched my Luke/Tracy DVD last night (Lulu arrives through the beginning of the Monkey Fever SL), and there is a marked difference in their relationship before the Monkey Fever incident and after. It's like, there's more substance there now, more depth. The looks between them are more meaningful, the conversations (when they happen) are more emotionally charged. I think they fell in love with each other during that crisis, when their children's lives were in the balance, and they couldn't scheme or bully or joke it away. And then, when life got back to normal, they didn't know what to do with themselves. The rules were changed, subtly, and both of them floundered - a lot - trying to figure out what exactly they had become as a couple. (And yeah, they think of themselves as a couple.) Lulu getting shot could drive it right through, imho. Especially if Luke blamed himself in some way. If Luke blamed Tracy, or Dillon, that could also force the issue--make them have it out, finally, and really just lay their cards on the table. Is this a real marriage? Is this a real family? Let's figure it out and either go live it or end it. In the end, because this is a soap and drama is what they do, I believe they'll choose to live it, to risk it, to take the chance at love again. About ten minutes before Saint Laura wafts into the room on a cloud of golden light, surrounded by choirs of heavenly music, with little cartoon birds fluttering around her halo of golden curls..... Argh. /end spoiler talk.

The Tracy Quartermaine Lovefest
Actually, I don't disagree with you at all, on any of it. Tracy has had thirty years as a character to develop, and really there isn't anybody out there who's a match for her. Okay, there is one female character on the show I'd love to see her slashed with, although I think I'll get slammed for it--Bobbie. They're roughly the same age, both have been toughened by the school of hard knocks, both are fiercely protective of the ones they love. I could so see them going there--and let's just say it does my little byotch heart good to just imagine the line "Luke, I can't believe Tracy left you for your sister!" being uttered on the show.... ETA: Tracy/Patrick? Huh???? No, my brethren and sistren, Tracy does not need a boy toy. She's already married to an overgrown adolescent and pseudo-flirting with another overgrown adolescent. What she needs is a man, not a boy. She's never actually been paired with a real grown-up--don't you think it's time? Oh, and totally fishing for Tracy-Monica-Bobbie-Anna Girls Night Out fic, now that they're all in town. C'mon--any takers?

Ahhh, Regency, the small but fervent Tracy Femmeslash Brigade is growing. (I think we're up to three now, including you and me.....) Just an OT heads-up: Internet access at home is down. We're not getting a dial-tone. There's a tiny cut in one of the phone extensions, and I'm hoping it just needs a replacement. But if there's actually something wrong with the phone line itself, I might be mighty quiet until early next week. Am going to get my oil changed and a new phone cord at Wal-Mart--bringing a notebook with me, so at least I'll be writing. Love to you all--and wish me best in my time of withdrawal! (PS, I'm at the library.)

If it's true, I wonder what the world is coming to.... Aren't both Anna and Tracy of the "Robert is a Joke" school? Tracy moreso than Anna, but still. I can't imagine for a *second* that this would actually happen, unless it's about something totally un-Robert-related. (Or at least, not about Robert in a sexual/romantic way.) And if they do bring Robert and Tracy closer together this summer because of the whole Greg and Marsha storyline, I....well, I don't know what I think about it.... But if this turns into another Tracy/Luke/Holly/Robert thing, with Tracy being the butt of the joke, I'm going to be waaaaay not happy. Now you're just being petty. ....Page 200 gets a brand new Oldsmobile.

Waves madly to Regency! Hola! Sweetie, I didn't start watching this stupid show till Jan. 2006--I just read tons and tons of bios, watched the clips so generously provided by members of this group, and did what I could. I've read your fanfic, and would LOVE to see what you can do with Tracy. Here are a few of my bio links to get you started: Tracy Bio at GFF Tracy Profile at CJ Corinthos Who's Who in Port Charles - Tracy Quartermaine from Soap Central. Another reeeeaaaalllly good thing to do is read the transcripts (such as they are) from The City. Go here, select Loving/The City from the drop down box, then start on October 11, 1996. She's on the show between then and the very end in March 1997. Very pivotal Tracy stuff, very good Tracy-Dillon stuff, lots of wonderful insight into her and how her life was when she was banished from the Quartermaines. ETA: Here is a link to Daily Transcripts of General Hospital. They actually have an archive that goes back, I think, to 1997 or 98. I have a list of resources at the ficathon. For fic, you can check out the Master List of Stories at the TQ Ficathon on LiveJournal. You can also go to How Do You Deal with All This LuNacy? on FF.net. Oh, and Keith and ILoveTracyQ--ya'll need to stop messing around with my breadmaker, byotchs. Cuz Tracy and I need fresh rosemary bread for our brunch on Sunday, and she's gonna be mightily annoyed if you two bust it messing around. RE: Tracy/Robert SPOILERS > Dear fracking GAWD! Will some man, some clever, insightful, sensible man, PUH-LEASE kiss this woman without the intention of making another woman jealous? Have you freakin' SEEN her? She's beautiful, sexy, smart, rich, funny--probably a wildcat in the sack (remember the picture, boys...)--and you stupid Y-chromosomes are not getting it! Ugh. Just Ugh. Tracy so needs a female lover. Preferably one with brains, who isn't psychotic, murderous, or out for revenge against the Quartermaines. I'm thinking we bring back Zoe from The City. They were good together.... Or maybe Marlena from Days. (Oh, just shoot me--I'm still recovering from The Day from Hell, and my brain is shot.)

Somebody tell me TQ was on today. LIE to me if you have to (only make sure I know you're lying, so I don't have to be reaaaally disappointed). I've had the kind of day that makes me want to pull a TQ--"I WANT MY MOMMY! I WANT MY MOMMY!" in exactly that same tone of voice. And hitting somebody would be nice, too. ILTQ, got your PM. Where is Ms.Q, anyway? I thought she said she'd be in Indiana (or Ohio, or one of those middle states) for the weekend. She's totally slacking on carrying her share of the obsession. And yeah, I'm making this long in hopes that I'll push it over the edge and get that coveted Page 100 Breadmaker......ETA: DAMN! Sooooo close.....

The Tracy Quartermaine Lovefest
With Guza and staff, I'm never sure what to expect from any of these characters. In the past few weeks, they've just nailed Tracy to the floor, and let her rip with that old TQ flair. But just as easily, they could have her doing something atrocious in the next scene they write for her, something she would *never* do.... It's like a sort of schizophrenia with these writers--they're right on target, then they just go off the deep end, listening to the frightening little voices in their heads that tell them to have Tracy post nude pictures of Georgie on the GH Intranet, or have her chase after Luke for over a year without even a little bedroom R&R to keep her going--you get my drift. Now don't take this the wrong way--I love me some Luke/Tracy. When they are written right, they sizzle like nobody's business. Even when the writing is mediocre, the two actors can still make it work for the most part. But this last week or so, with no Luke in sight, I have just totally fallen in love with Tracy again. She's a new woman--sadder maybe, hurt, definitely--but still...there's a power in her now that we haven't seen for a long time. A determination, rather than just petulance or stubbornness. Like she's remembering who she is, now that her head is clearing from the Cloud of Luke Spencer Sexual Frustration she's been walking through for the past year. I want to see them develop this. I want her to own this situation with Dillon and Georgie, really take control, be the kind of mother to both these kids we know she's capable of being. And then I want Luke to come cruising in, say late August, and get a load of what he left behind. Get a load of the woman he's taken for granted. And I sooooooo want him to threaten Dillon. I want that to happen. And I want him to do it in front of Tracy. Because I can see it, like a vision in my head--Tracy cutting him down right in his tracks for *daring* to threaten her son, for *daring* to be angry at this when he was off galavanting with Holly and leaving her to deal with the mess all summer, leaving her to be a mother to both her son *and* his daughter. I want her to throw his sorry, cheating, butterfly-chasing dreamer ass to the curb. And then...I want him to earn her back. *sigh* And that would be right about the time Laura came back. Why did you people let me get hooked on a damned soap opera?????????

The Tracy Quartermaine Lovefest
Sigh. I did not get *any* writing done tonight. But that does not mean I haven't been thinking about it. In fact, I've got at least two non-100 Situations fanfic bunnies running around in my head, vying for attention with the two WIPs I haven't touched and the stupid 100 Situations I'm trying to keep up with. ILoveTracyQ, I hesitate to write a "danger" story with Robert and Tracy. Writing "Crash" for Tracy and Luke just about killed me--besides, I don't see Tracy as the "adventure" or "danger" type. She's more cerebral, more subtle than all this running around, dodging bullets. My dream fic would be a mystery, very much a Nick and Nora Charles feeling to it--very witty and urbane--with Tracy always being just a little smarter than whoever she's paired with (although he would take all the credit). But since I can barely *read* most mysteries, much less plot and write them, that will probably never come from me. Another pairing I'd like to tackle is Tracy and Lulu. I'm really starting to love the vibe between them, especially since Tracy's responding so unexpectedly (on the surface) to all this with Dillon & Lulu. We're seeing a much more insightful and deep part of her, possibly because Tracy identifies with Lulu on some level and wants to protect her. She lets people think it's because of Luke, but I'm absolutely certain she would care anyway if she'd had as much interaction with her. I mean, she was somewhat protective of Zoe, even sweet to her, gave her a make-over and everything. (LOL) I don't know--I'm just babbling on. Maybe Tracy wishes she'd had a daughter, secretly--I don't know. I'm going to try and write now. Any chance of TQ on the rest of this week? Oh, and did you guys check out that the Anna jealousy thing was about Robin? I'm sorry, she ain't all that. If Anna wants to be jealous, she might want to check out the "parenting bonding" Tracy and Robert are doing.... New Fanfic: Prompt #18: True True to the Blood. Tracy and Robert trade info after their talks with Dillon and Lulu, respectively. Robert hits a little too close to home when he speculates on the real cause of Tracy's anger with Dillon.
-
The Tracy Quartermaine Lovefest
I agree--which makes the story I'm going to write much harder. There are things I want her to say, but I don't think Tracy IC would say to Robert. I guess I'm going to have to fall back on the old Homer Trick--think one thing, say another thing, hope to all heck that you don't mix them up. Great line from The City: Alex: They have a word for women who go to bed with men for money. Tracy: Wealthy! But seriously, my guess is that TQ has felt like a bit of a whore now and then, given what she's had to do to get money. She married Gino for his money, yes, but if you want to look further back-- *Edward would not let her have any money after she divorced Larry unless she was married. So she forced Mitch Williams to marry her, even though he was not really interested. *Edward gave her two million dollars after the Fake Heart Attack, but she could only use it on her husband's campaign (i.e., stay married). Tracy has whored herself out for money in that most subtle and damaging way women have--she married for it, stayed married for it, took a hell of a lot of crap for it. So, yeah, I could see her having a soft spot for someone who had to take the grittier route....and helping if she could. I think that's why Tracy has a soft spot for Lulu--Lulu has nothing to fall back on, no trust fund, no mother, nothing. If she gets lost, Lulu could fall on very bad times, and I think Tracy doesn't want to see that happen. It's funny watching her discuss this issue--Dillon's "my irresponsible son," but Lulu is treated much more gently. I'm still stunned she admitted that bit about "the uncaring father" to Dillon....but I loved it anyway. BTW, if somebody has them, would you be willing to post the clips from yesterday's and Monday's episodes? I didn't get it on our tape and had to borrow my MIL's. Thanks.

The Tracy Quartermaine Lovefest
Smirks, did it feel to you that there was a final scene missing from the show--a follow-up to the Tracy-Robert scene? It felt, at least to the writer in me, that they were leading to another conversation betweent them, and just dropped it. Oh, well, I just happen to have a new prompt waiting, and wow! That "missing scene" fits the prompt perfectly. (Go figure....) So I think my next 100 Situations piece is going to be Tracy and Robert. BTW, totally still on that The City thing, because well--it had lots of Tracy and I am Tracy's !@#$%^&*]..... I have a question for anybody who actually watched the show about Pamela, the hooker Tracy hired to consummate her marriage with Gino. In the archives, they say Tracy helped this girl get out of hooking and into interior design (I'd actually read that somewhere else, too). My question is simple--how on Earth would Tracy ever be in a position to know a NYC hooker, much less help rehabilitate her? Did they go into that, or was that just one of those soap things they do? If not, does anybody have any speculation? Because that is a pretty amazing thing to do, to help someone out of prostitution and into a legitimate career...not really something you'd expect from the stereotypical image of Tracy Quartermaine. I wonder if there are other people out there Tracy has helped and nobody knows about? ETA: Oooh, we're on page 99!!! I hear the siren's song of the breadmaker in the near future....now, let's not everybody start posting frenetically in the hopes of getting the first post on page 100!!!!!

The Tracy Quartermaine Lovefest
Mothers and Sons and Lila and Tracy *grrrrr....* I know this is appropos to nothing, but after reading all those transcripts from The City, Dillon's behavior and attitude towards Tracy just makes me so mad. I mean, grrrrrr! I am not painting Tracy out as a victim, here. But there was this scene, when she's sending little Dillon off to bed as she's preparing to go off and marry Gino Solieto where she says something to the effect of, "I love you. I'm doing this all for you." And I just think of this spoiled, arrogant, annoying, snot-nosed kid who couldn't survive five months living over Kelly's, and how much his mother was willing to go through to keep him with her, to keep him from Edward's clutches, and mostly--to keep him from knowing how dire their situation was. I think of the scenes where Edward and (damn her!) Lila would call Dillon and Tracy would run to the phone, hoping to talk to them, only to hear a dial-tone when she got the phone. How many times in that short six-month run they showed her crying, not crocodile tears for the audience, but by herself, when she thought nobody was looking. How many times she asked him--who's your best girl? Who's my best guy? How she promised him, no matter what, no matter who she married, he would always be her best guy. It just occurred to me that Tracy might actually consider divorcing Luke if Dillon is really in love with Lulu, to give him a chance. I doubt she'd do it, because she knows how fragile and fleeting love is, but I can see her considering it. Seriously. I just get so mad when Lila (who is held up as the parragon of motherhood, but never really had to suffer a day in her adult life) can get away with letting Edward treat his daughter that way (and actually participated in the shut-out during The City years), but Tracy, who has sacrified everything from her money to her pride to her freedom, who was willing to risk marrying a repulsive killer to keep Dillon (and herself, yeah...) from poverty, is hailed as the mother from hell. Yeah, she did awful things to him later. She manipulated (everybody here who has never been manipulated by your mother, please raise your hand. Bueller? Bueller?), lied, used him, did horrible things to his girlfriend...but in the end, in her mind, everything she did was for his own damned good. She used him to take over ELQ in order to ensure his inheritance and his fortune (and considering how many times Tracy couldn't cover the price of a martini, that's a serious concern). She tried to destroy his relationship with Georgie because she thought (rightly so) that neither of them was strong enough or mature enough for a relationship (yeah, and that Georgie wasn't good enough for him). Yeah, Tracy is not a perfect mother. Sometimes she's not even a good mother. But she damn sure loves her sons. Lila, who is sweet and gentle and lovely, allowed her daughter to become destitute, to marry herself off to the highest bidder--several times, actually, since Edward refused to give Tracy money unless she was married--Lila is considered a great mother. But Tracy, who is never sweet and rarely gentle and hardly ever even nice, sacrificed everything for her kids--including their love and affection. I think I'd prefer Tracy to Lila as my mom.

The Tracy Quartermaine Lovefest
I think we're all in agreement that today's episode was really great for Tracy and Robert. Yeah, he was a little bumbling, but got the job done. I love his description of her--complicated. As someone who is on prompt 18 of a 100-story exploration of The Divine Ms. Q, I think that is the most concise and perfect description of her ever used. I also think we should put together a fund for whoever wrote the last few scenes Tracy's had, because they are teh sheet and must be revered. As must Jane Elliot, who is the queen of all things subtle and beautiful. Her scenes today were glorious--no screeching, OTT, cartoonish "DAMN YOU LUKE SPENSAHHHHHH" moments, no Cruella da Ville hand rubbing and evil looks--just honest, true, complicated Tracy. She gets it, on some level, what these two kids are doing and why. She remembers what it was to be like Lulu, and she has compassion (boy, she must ADORE that boy) for her clueless idiot of a son. But she's also determined to do what's right. She sets limits, gives her reasons, lets them say their peace, but still does the right thing. I'm so frackin' SICK of all these people who trash Tracy as a bad mother. She's a damned good mother. She loves her son, and she kicks his ass when need be. She shows him more affection than she ever got from her parents (don't GET me started on Saint Lila Quartermaine) She gives it to Ned, too, when he lets her, although so much has gone under the bridge with them that they may never have the kind of relationship I think they both crave. OTOH, did anybody LTAO when Dillon and Lulu began laughing at her threats? Fey was at the computer when that scene came on and she stopped what she was doing, turned around, folded her arms, and said to the Dillon on screen, "Boy, talk to your brother Ned if you think your mama is joking." They are such CUTE morons, aren't they? Smirks, I am SO glad you're posting again. Your fluency in the delicate language of snark is greatly appreciated by all.

I would love to see clips of JE and GA together as "Rocky" and Marco! Anybody have any lying around on videotape that they would be willing to copy for me??? *wide eyes* Also, I'm stunned at how much I love Jacob on The City. And I have to admit, if his pictures do him justice, I would so get behind him as an May/July romantic interest for Tracy. Even through transcripts, they had chemistry, and she really could use a nice guy in her life who isn't being forced into a relationship with her by a Cartel of her ex-lovers! Honestly, he's seen what being on the wrong side of the Qmaines drove her to--I'm willing to believe he never truly believed that a family could drive one of its own to the level of desparation we saw in Tracy during her stay on The City. But ten minutes in the Qmansion would turn him into a believer. I could see him becoming very protective of Tracy, since he knows how far she was willing to go, and what risks she was willing to take, to provide for her son. And frankly, I think they'd look pretty together, and I'm shallow that way...... TQ's on today. I am looking forward to watching the tape tonight. Work is pretty decent, believe it or not.

New fic posted: Prompt #17 Beach Christmas at the Beach. The City fic. Set in December 1996. Tracy is broke, shut out from her family, left horribly in debt by a botched attempt at blackmailing Sydney (Morgan Fairchild). She spends a few minutes at the bar (The City) with Jacob Foster, commiserating over pretzels and martinis. (Jacob Foster with Angie Hubbard)

The Tracy Quartermaine Lovefest
Hey, ILTQ, did ya like the story much? Oooooh! So he did call her "Rocky"!!! Fey told me that once, and I loved it, but later she said she couldn't remember for sure if he'd called her that or if she'd just imagined it. Damn, I wish I had clips of them together. ETA: New fanfic--just a little dreamy-like thing I wrote, probably ridiculously pretentious, but hey--it's words on a page, right? Prompt #16 Peace Parle-moi de ma mere. Tracy strolls along the Vienne River, lost in thought, holding on to hope in the form of a letter from her mother.

The Tracy Quartermaine Lovefest
LOL--we could have a Brit-Fest week. Helen Mirren, Maggie Smith, Judi Dench--ooh, and "Pats and Eddie" from AbFab! Let's see, ultra-chic Magazine Publisher Jane Elliot is taking on a new British unit, and has invited their Brit counterparts over for a two-week conference. Creative Editor Diane Weist and Managing Editor Stockard Channing are a little concerned, because they're afraid Kaiser Jane (as they call her) is thinking of doing a staff overhaul. So they enlist the Guru of Snark, Chief Writer Candace Bergen, to play a little trick on Jane--resulting in comic mayhem that leads to a heart-warming Full House-esque "awwww" moment at the end when they realize Kaiser Jane was really trying to do the best she could for the publishing company....... I so need to get a life, don't I? Am thinking Jane needs more time on GH, before I go fully over the edge. Looking forward to Monday's !@#$%^&*]-Slap-O-Rama.

The Tracy Quartermaine Lovefest
LOL about the Jane Elliot-Diane Wiest thing. I've been madly in love with Diane Wiest since I first saw Hannah and Her Sisters ten zillion years ago. She was in quite a few Woody Allen films early in her career, so I have this image of her as a very smart, neurotic, funny character. To see her paired opposite Jane Elliot would be fun. Oh, JE's part in Baby Boom was a riot! I hated her hair, of course, but the part was just so funny. LaineyBev, Kate is totally cast in our new show! I love her gravelly voice...ooh, lala. In fact, we should just have our show star all these women in recurring character parts. Maybe a huge ensemble show with weekly guest stars like Glenn Close (hey, she did Will and Grace, she can do our show!), Diane Keaton, Bette Midler, and Lily Tomlin. Oh, btw, new fic has been posted. Finally. This one is an AU story, with a sort of wierd format. Prompt #15: Alter The Game. Dillon turns Tracy onto a game of speculation (based on the movie The Butterfly Effect), and Tracy begins to speculate on the choices she's made in her life.
-
The Tracy Quartermaine Lovefest
Diane Wiest is one of the old-guard Woody Allen standby's. She was also in Edward Scissorhands, Practical Magic (Aunt Jet), Bullets over Broadway, The Associate...and several shows on television that I never watched because they were cop and/or lawyer dramas. She is dreamy-eyed, funny, smart, and just perfect as a foil to actresses like Stockard or Jane. I'd watch it. I'm looking forward to seeing who Tracy rakes over the coals worse--Lulu or Dillon. I'm thinknig it's gonna be Dillon who gets smacked the hardest. After all, he should freaking KNOW better. He's older, and come on--his mother is Tracy Quartermaine. Like he shouldn't recognize a predatory, scheming female by now???? (LOL.) Oh, I know, she sheltered him, but not that much..... Can't wait for the fireworks.

The Tracy Quartermaine Lovefest
Sick of the TQ/JE wasteland GH has become. Am I kidding myself, even asking if she was on today? Oy. Personally, I'd hate to see her leave the show, because I've seen her in other parts, and I don't think I can bring myself to love them as much as TQ. (Anjelica, from what I saw, would have bored me terifically.) I'd love to see her do a sitcom, maybe play the villainness on a smart comedy -- a character they'd normally give to a Holland Taylor -- older, sexy, powerful woman who holds the lives of the younger characters in her perfectly-manicured fingers...... Her comic timing is utter perfection, and she could really shine in that capacity. If she had to leave GH, I wish she'd leave daytime altogether and do something I could enjoy. Ooh, my dream cast--Jane Elliot, Stockard Channing, Diane Wiest, and Candice Bergen. We don' need no steenkin' men! Have them run a women's magazine, or a stock brokerage, or a law firm or something. Just four tough, funny, smart, sexy women in a show together...... Sigh. I am dreaming, aren't I? Well, maybe next week.
