My dad sent me a family tree his brother had done for their family and the most interesting thing about it was that his third wife (current) and his first wife (my mom) are actually second cousins and didn't know it. I'm a Jane/Tracy fan all the way, and 99.9% LuNacy (there are still times when I want to jump off the bus). Bottom line? I'd watch Tracy without Luke, but not Luke without Tracy. It's been a crazy week, which translates into no new fic. But I will try to get another chapter of SMHP on Saturday, and maybe an anniversary fic. Is it sad that we know the anniversary of a fictional couple? I think it's sad. But then, I'm just me. *Throws dice to see if Tracy will be on today.* Mmmm...could be.....

Shirley's law school nemesis, a truly viperous, horrible, back-stabbing beech. And then have Jane show up, all angelic and virtuous and everybody loves her and thinks Shirley is nuts. Or is she....?

Staci--LoveLoveLove the new music vid. I'd heard the song before (Kentucky = country music, can't avoid it), but had never really listened to the words. It was a great match, and the clip choice was perfect. You managed the find every single cute/sexy/affection exchange between these two and shove it into a single video. Yum! Oh, and that YouTube montage--wow. Wow, I have to remember that when I start whining about how bad the acting is on soaps--it was much, much worse in the 70s, and they did it with mutton chop sideburns! And thank you, LnL, for destroying the great music of Chuck Mangione for me. Can you imagine? You're the world's premier flugelhorn player, and your signature song is used as the background for a rape scene? Who connects rape with flugelhorn music anyway? It's true. GH did break new ground for soaps.... Okay, I'm being silly. I need to go to work, even though I don't want to at all at all at all. (Man, I sound like Lainey. )

LadyA, thank you SO much for that TrAsh clip! I can't tell you how much I enjoyed it. Honestly, if LuNacy doesn't work out, I will personally spearhead the Bring Back Ashton campaign. They are just beautiful together. Sorry I cut out on the chat room last night, ya'll. I've been in and out this week, and with Mother's Day and Fey's Grandma's birthday within three days of each other, we've been hustling to keep up. I will try to squeeze some time in for writing or chatting or something like that. Oh, and my other new Wish List Goal? Jane needs to guest-star on Boston Legal, my new crack. She totally needs to be on that show--maybe one of Shirley Schmidt's former legal (or romantic) rivals.

Ooh, I got my behonkus chewed off on the Emmy thread at SOC. *claps* I feel like a real poster now! I'm so thrilled TQ is on--of course, I'm not going to be able to watch it immediately because Fey's grandmother is having a birthday today and we have to go after work. ALSO, today is my 8th anniversary as a vegetarian. For the last year or so, I've been eating small amounts of fish, so I don't consider myself strict anymore, but it's still a cool thing to follow through on a commitment like that for so long. (I've never lasted so long at anything before....)

MsQ, I posted a response to that thread. Personally? I think Genie Francis getting a Supporting Actress nomination over someone like Nancy Lee Grahan, who had a huge storyline and blew me away on a consistent basis, is just absurd. Don't get me wrong--I truly enjoyed Genie's visit to the show. It propelled a lot of my favorite storylines forward and also gave me a lot of good angst to work with. However, offering Genie Francis an Emmy nomination for four weeks worth of work (over people like NLG) is like giving a retired cop "Officer of the Year" for attending the Policeman's Ball. ETA: Completely OT, but LaineyBev, didn't you say you watched Boston Legal? I posted a very short fic on my LiveJournal--it's Paul Lewiston. Yeah, I'm gonna conquer Schmidt soon, but Paul just captured my heart last night.

MsQ, that whole "teaching at 7:15 am and having to be there at least 20 minutes early" thing? Reason #2 (after the abysmally low salary) I hated substitute teaching. It's the worst in elementary grades though, with high school starting latest. Personally, I think they do that in the hopes that depriving students of much-needed sleep will make them more malleable and susceptible to brain-washing. Unfortunately, it has the same effect on the staff..... I will see what I can do about that Mother's Day story....
