  1. I don't get why phaedra even had to be in the video at all.. she could have just bank-rolled it.. and just featured Apollo on the video only. I understand that Phoedra has a built-in name.. but that will only carry you so far in the long run. Plus, green is not her color. I don't think she is overweight at all, she just picked an outfit that wasn't flattering on her. Plus the shoelace design in the mid section made her appear heavier then she probably really is. I would have had her in solid, darker colors to give off a slimmer and curvy figure...imho
  2. I love all those intros! So funny and so fitting for all the characters! While I'm not a fan of Faye, the death threats toward her are uncalled for. I'd rather she not join the show and just be shown in friendship scenes with Kyle because she comes off better in those scenes. Perhaps even showcase her business more cause she obviously has some success if she has a steady client base.
  3. Disappointed RHOOC didn't rerun today as listed on tv guide, while I found the twitter address for the newest OC housewife Lydia and asked her if she would have an intro on the show (since the television advertisements don't show her at all) and this is what she said back: Lydia McLaughlin ‏@LydiaMJewelry 6h @losersRus79 I guess u will have to watch and find out!! I do know that I'm introduced April 15th.
  4. Didn't Brittney Allen look as if she had potential when she first debuted? I recall she and Krystal were in a jail cell.. and Marissa was being very snarky and standing up for herself by quoting certain laws/statues? I thought that she was interesting.. but then devolved into a mindless dolt later on. Only when she was nearing the end of her stint that she finally got some fire especially when she went off on David for faking his death. Strangely, when the new marissa came on, it was almost as if there was a new character with the same name. After a bit of adjustment, I realized that this was how the character was intended.. but I think the writers wrote to Brittney Allen's natural personality.. which was probably more delicate/wall flower then fiesty lawyer in training.
  5. Yes, Lynne... a very kooky character.. very laid back and eccentric. I think Vicki wasn't too keen on her to start with.. if I'm not mistaken. I never watched the early seasons of NY or Atlanta.. did they start out with each housewife basically being isolated.. or was there staged functions for all the housewives to interact at?
  6. I didn't start watching OC until season 6.. and I found season 3 to be very interesting. For me, the main reason is because most of the cast has departed the show. Hence, why I think Jersey needs to seriously think about shuffling their cast come season 6 since keeping the same cast equals boredom.. at least to me.
  7. You are speaking of Lauri.. and rest assured.. she departs during season 4 (not sure if at the start of middle of season 4). You might get a kick out of her replacement Lynne though. I thought Quinn was very sweet and a tad boring. I was watching the show and wondering why she was even in the show. She didn't seem quite as trashy/fame hungry as the other women. I think she is only on this season though. Will be intrigued to see how new girl Lydia will fit in. Will she be interesting in her right, or will she be like Quinn and Fernanda? I remember liking Gretchen during her first season.. but it is probably because she isn't with Slade during this time.
  8. Watching some of OC season 3 episodes today (that are re-running on Bravo today) and I'm surprised at how different the show was back then. I'm surprised at the lack of mean spirited behavior though I could see the seeds of such behavior being planted this season. I found myself enjoying Jeana, Lauri, and Quinn while Tamra seemed to not be so mean-spirited. I wonder when she took a turn for the worst? What I also liked about the show was that we didn't have to have all the housewives interact with each other. The episode I'm watching has Jeana and Vicki are vacationing with the kids in Mexico while Lauri is vacationing with the kids up in Wyoming. Perhaps future housewives should involve families with teenagers/college students. That is what I think is the big difference between then and now with this show.
  9. I hope to god that Faye doesn't become a full time cast-member on RHOBH. From what I've heard, reaction to Faye's first blog was so bad that it was taken down.. and as of today, no listing for a blog for Faye is available. If Faye was a friend of housewife in the OC, then I could see her becoming a housewife instantly. However, BH should involve ritzy mansions, fab parties, and very wealthy people heavily connected to the scene. While Faye is a designer/decorator, she is so vile that having her on as an official friend of housewife has taken the show down a notch or two. Right now, we have room for one train wreck.. and that is Brandi.. imho. While watching the Dana/Taylor scene, I kept thinking to myself how ironic it was that Taylor was the voice of reason and sober!?!? It was quite a reversal this season.. and kind of funny seeing Dana blast Brandi! Me thinks someone is jealous LOL When does the next season of BH start filming? next month? this summer?
  10. Looking at the photo of Julie Bovasso, I thought she looked awfully familiar.. only to find out that she was John Traveltra's mother in Saturday Night Fever... Played a relative of Cher's in Moonstruck.. and was Molly Ringwald's Grand-ma in Betsy's Wedding. Even though she was let go/walked off the set, it looks like she carved out a nice career as a character actress in a few memorable movies, imho.
  11. I agree that one of the two will be kept. Even though Bravo claims they were happy with RHONY's revamp, gutting most of that cast did cause some short-term damage to the ratings.. and said ratings didnt really pick up until 2/3 of the way through the season. With that said, if Kyle is remaining on the show.. then most likely they are going to keep Kim on the show in some capacity. Though I'd rather she be down-graded to friend of housewife as opposed to full-time housewife if they do keep her. I'm basing this on the paris excursion where Taylor wasnt 'able' to go to Paris, but Kim managed to be able to go. I'm almost 100 percent positive that Bravo footed the bill for some of that adventure so if they had wanted Taylor to go, they would have paid for her to go. Part of me does wonder what Marisa would have contributed to the going ons in Paris. I would guess and assume she would have hung out with Kyle.. probably with Brandi and Yolanda as well... Not sure if she and Lisa had ever interacted.. Oh well.
  12. It's a shame if talk of JvA not wanting an on-screen reminder that she was old enough to grown daughter was true, since I think Lucy should have joined Knots Landing. Even though Charlene was not the strongest actress, I certainly think she would have risen to the occasion when the script called for it. The best time for her character to have joined would have been circa 1985, right after she remarried Mitch. They could have had Mitch transfer to a hospital close to Knots Landing and they could move there to start fresh. Not only would that have reinforced the original concept of the show, but having both of them on the show could have provided extra support/texture to Val's story, which would have been the twin story. I often wonder how different it would have been having Lucy there during that time frame, would Val have still gone crazy? I would have loved to have seen Lucy and Abby tangle, that alone would have been a gold-mine for the writers. Plus, I could have seen Paige and Lucy becoming rivals especially when it comes to Mitch. I could also see Lucy working at Lotus Point as a hostess, or even doing public relations for the resort.
  13. Co-sign! Kenya's cover resembles a professionally done exercise cover. This might be unpopular, but I think that Andy Cohen should not be the moderator at any of the reunions. The reason I say this is because he has his hand in developing the shows, interacting with them on his show, and in press tours. I think a neutral person should be the moderator instead so that there isn't a bias toward certain people. A great example was the recent reunion for Big Rich Texas on Style. The moderator was Viveca A Fox.. and she remained fair and partial even toward the scorned cast member who refused to come.. but was shown via skype. Perhaps, Adrienne could have done that.
  14. I remember viewing the Barnabas episodes first, and I do recall that Maggie wasn't a wisecracking character anymore.. but she was still very strong-willed and stubborn. This was very apparent during the hostage storyline when Barnabas kept trying to recreate Maggie into Josette... At first, she seemed to be Josette but then she seemed to snap out of it.. and was very stubborn and determined to escape. Even though ghost Sarah was a big help, if Maggie hadn't been so strong and determined, I dont think she would have been able to escape. I think the total transformation of the character was complete after the 1795 story... early Maggie wouldnt have fallen for Warwick Nicholas' charms whatsoever. At this time, she was just a simple plot device..imho.
  15. What I found most interesting about the pre-Barnabas episodes was how different Maggie Evans was in comparison to after Barnabas came on the show. Not only was she blonde, she also had a completely different personality as well. While I think she looked a lot better with longer dark hair, I don't think I liked the drastic change in her personality. Looking at these early episodes, it is almost like viewing a different character. She started out as a sarcastic, in your face character and evolved into a trembling victim that was afraid of her own shadow. In fact, Maggie and Victoria eventually became identical characters. While this came in handy once Victoria left the show, I noticed that the change happened long before Victoria left the show. I often wonder if there was a reason for the change in her character. Was it something that the writers' always planned on happening, or did they look at KLS and see that she wasn't up to playing Maggie as originally written?
  16. I noticed in back pages that 1989 was seen as a refocusing kind of year.. which included the replacement of Broderick with Depriest. How long did Depriest last as head-writer? What stories did she introduce that werent introduced during Broderick's era? Were there any stories that carried over when Agnes Nixon took over the reigns again?
  17. Even so, they still would have had five housewives... and with Lauri being a friend of housewife...the show really didnt need to call Alexis back.
  18. What I dont understand is that they added a new housewife to RHOC, so why bring back Alexis? At least, this new housewife will be friendly with Alexis so we wont have any of the gang-up of all housewives against one lone housewife.
  19. Well D.C, most of the housewives didnt live in D.C... they lived in the burbs. Chicago could have some housewives living in the North Shore (i.e. Evanston, Winneteka, Wilmette, Glencoe, Highland Park, etc).
  20. I'd love for them to do a Real Housewives of Chicago.
  21. I'm preparing to duck, but I think JL's Liza (at least the last year or so of her portrayal) mirrored MW's Liza circa 1995-1996.. when she was sexier and a force to be reckoned with.
  22. I think youtube had scenes with Dottie hanging out with Jesse in 1983.. pre-tad
  23. So off-topic, but had a few questions for long time watchers regarding a few characters/exits from the 80's. How did Liza originally leave the show? I know another actress briefly played her after marcy Walker left (the little I saw of this actress, I certainly think she could have made her own mark on the character, imho).. but the last mention of her in the monthly write-ups is from December 1984 where Cliff fired then rehired Liza at the station. Not seeing anything listed afterwards as to when Liza left officially. Plus, reading the monthly reviews from 1984, it appears as if Liza and Tad were in totally different stories and hardly interacted at all.. so curious as to why Liza was hell bent on revenge when she came back on the canvas in 1995. Also, I was wondering how Dottie was view back in her original run by other viewers.. since my mom had a soft spot for the character. Reading up on the characters adventures from mid 1983 till early 1986, she certainly was thrown in several peoples' orbits. I noticed that she hung around jesse/Angie for several months before Tad was paid to date her... did she still continue interacting with jesse/Angie once the tad/hilary/Dottie storyline took off in 1984? I also was surprised that she worked for Erica in 1985.. and even had a brief romance with bad seed Andrew. Do you think that the character was moved around a lot cause the show had trouble fitting in anywhere.. or was she a character that could fit anywhere?
  24. I recall during the whole baby loss storyline that Dorian was being stalked.. and it turned out that Jessica was the one stalking her.. and that the climax involved Jessica almost running Dorian over with a car before being stopped. Did Jessica recall that she was doing this, or was she blocking it out? I remember the story and thought she wasnt aware she was stalking Dorian, but once the story concluded, she went on with her life without any mention of therapy so maybe I'm wrong. If she wasnt aware of this, then I could see this being a foreshadowing to all of Jessica's mental issues that came much later (though I think if Erin kept playingg the role, I dont see Jessica becoming a cariature)
  25. Kind of off topic, but recalling all the various changes in Jessica's character over the last few years of the show (i.e. all the split personalities, her regression to teen-dom, etc), I often wonder if these changes would have occurred if Erin T. were still playing the part? Or if these storylines still would have been written, but played in a different way? I recalled Erin T. played Jessica more like a townboy/ingenue type, and I recall the exact day Bree took over, that Jessica's mannerisms changed completely (yes, slightly more in your face.. but also noticed kind of a slutty undertone),
