  1. I didn't know that. I guess that promo wasn't long before ELizabeth Denehy was fired. To me she always looked a bit older than the role should have been - perhaps because she wasn't initially cast as Christina?
  2. October 1972 Afternoon TV.
  3. Mike's only wife that lasted was Leslie, and they were only together a few years before she was killed. Other than that he was with a few women but never for very long. I think this type of character was condemned for being "boring", which is the type of attitude that killed daytime.
  4. I was mostly fascinated/scared by those tiny little heads.
  5. I think Michelle lost something after they fired Rachel Miner. She never had that soulfulness
  6. I don't think Rick was aged that much compared to many others in the family. I think the Bauers needed Mike, and a strong older female presence. Ed shouldn't have been written as the head of the family. Ed was too weak of a man to ever be that, and that's probably one of the reasons why the Bauers were dismantled to the point where it was just Ed and kids, then the kids.
  7. The way she was pushing her daughter as some model/actress in the early episodes maybe she can go on one of those awful child pageant reality shows.
  8. Her Wiki page says she did well in rehearsal but was nervous oncamera. And, apparently, drunk. It's a good script though, and she does OK. Imagine if Loretta Young had filled in as Susan! The biggest and happiest surprise for me was getting to hear Aunt Grace for the first time. She wasn't what I expected at all. I expect someone like that little old lady on Brighter Day. Grace was tough as nails! I loved it. She added a lot of spark. The show had such a fascinating and in some ways very ahead of its time view of females.

  10. This has a few photos I hadn't seen before. October 1976 TV Mirror salutes LOL on 25 years.
  11. Afternoon TV Special 1973
  12. 1973 Afternoon TV Special. Mary Tyler Moore wore this outfit in one of my favorite MTM episodes. Maybe Victoria felt the same way.
  13. I thought her burning the clothes made sense because Josh was locking himself in his room - she had to react. But knowing Harley's history she probably would have gone nuts at some point. By the time he returned in 1993 she was on the way out but I do wonder why they never considered it later. I guess because she was locked in to a few men, and he was with a few women. But then I don't know if he would have been interested in later Harley anyway. She was so brittle.
  14. I liked the fun little Ed/Reva scene. Maureen's scowling reaction was fun too. Too bad they didn't do more with Mike and Reva. I didn't realize they were mentioning her that early on. When was it exactly that they decided to turn her from being an outsider into the heart of the show? Or was it planned all along? Did Kim ever talk about her first meeting with Pam Long? It seems like Pam was so fascinated and entranced by the Reva character, and I wonder if that was because of or in spite of Kim (they weren't all that close as time passed on GL). But to Pam's credit, she wrote a beautiful romance between Josh and Harley after Reva "died."
  15. Thanks to alphanguy74 for alerting us to this. It's an audio of one of Joan Crawford's SS appearances. "Poor child Joan" indeed! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=weOJdw5pQnI&feature=player_embedded
  16. Oh that's right. I thought it just pointed to the ceiling and then that was it.
  17. Another 1993 episode is up - it's continued from the previous casino night episode. Love the opener with Lucinda and that fish tank. She wants to starve him! Of course she does. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hK8oohoydmU&feature=related
