  1. I was pretty much going to post the exact same sentiments with about the Kate/EJ scenes. That music cue needs to be thrown in the trash. This show proved last week they know how to do drama correctly, I don't understand how they dropped the ball so quickly. However, in regards to Gabi, I actually don't think she was supposed to be the bad guy, but instead was being written as the Greek chorus for those who hate Leo. Maybe that's my bias talking, or the remnants of how great last week was, but I thought Javi also came off as incredibly naive and Leo was just a problem that would soon sort itself out. JJ has never been married. After wondering if today was Joy's last episode, I went to her Instagram to see if AlexAnn Hopkins mentioned anything, but her account is private, which could be proof in itself. Plus, there's no mention of DAYS in her bio, but that was also the first time I went to her page so could mean nothing. If anyone sees confirmation of her exit, please post it.
  2. To me, Daniel Cosgrove's best role will always be the one where he had to joyously eat dog jizz.
  3. Wings Hauser (Greg Foster #3, 1977-81, 2010) has passed away... https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/movies/movie-news/wings-hauser-dead-vice-squad-soldiers-story-1236169294/
  4. Emily O'Brien's accent was all over the place today, but other than that (and her horrible wig) her scene with Xander was the best of the episode for me. I look forward to her returning as Gwen where she can just talk normally. And what a treat that Mary Beth Evans was actually given the opportunity to act again today. She was probably more emotional than normal because of real life circumstances, but it was refreshing to remember what she's capable of when given even the tiniest of material. The show came to halt when it was about the Joy/Alex/Steph story. Joy should not actually be pregnant, and Abigail Klein can not pull off acting. If she has no haters, I'm dead. It's tiresome when I'm rooting for the two pregnancies on the show to result in miscarriage. When Shane or potenitally "Shane" said Estonia, all I kept thinking about was the Conan O'Brien joke at the Oscars.
  5. River City has been cancelled. Premiering in 2002, the show will end in Sept. 2026. https://www.bbc.co.uk/mediacentre/2025/river-city-to-end-2026-bbc-plans-next-generation-of-drama-production-three-new-titles
  6. Respectfully, your mind blank after posting these two thoughts after the other was hilarious. But yes, as Jane said, the third is Arnold Feniger a.k.a Rafe2.
  7. I've been wondering, is Sami the only soap character to be raped by three different people?
  8. Last week was great, except for Wednesday, with the reveal on Friday even making me cry. Having Lauren Koslow come in after Roman accidently dropped the bomb about EJ was a smart move to secure that the emotional stakes necessary were struck. Prior to this reveal, Carson Boatman was someone I had a contented like about as Johnny, but now I feel this story has solidified him as someone I can be truly invested. I had no idea he had it in him. It's nice to be surprised by this show, in a good way, in 2025. His scenes today with EJ made me cry again. The scenes were a bit longer than usual and more in depth. I find it very hard to believe the new writers didn't have some sort of hand in the writing dig deeper. This rape reveal has really lit a fire under the show's ass and I hope they can keep up the momentum, especially for Carson Boatman and Johnny. I've even liked the show more than BTG in the past week because of it. Once the happens, the only thing I'll know is upcoming story wise is John passing away. It'll be exciting to be basically completely spoiler free.
  9. I think Billy Flynn will just be another Trevor St. John situation for Griffith. Heck, by the time he finally airs on DAYS, Griffith will probably have gotten bored of him.
  10. It is a damn shame to lose him. I can't tell if he was fired or quit, but either way I'll miss him. He's a grounding presence and even though his last name is DiMera, he's blended into the Hortons seamlessly. However, this does not deter me from being excited for the new writers, helped by the fact he'll be around nearly a year from now. Count me as someone who doesn't think killing off Abby and having her stay dead was a mistake. They've gone through three adult actresses, all whom don't want to come back. It makes perfect sense for her to be dead. What is concerning is Errol mentioning the budget cuts on a show that already has no budget. Could cancellation be looming? Their contract is up next year.
  11. Does anyone know the name of the actor who plays Det. Marcel Malone?
  12. Well, hopefully Sophia miscarries and Joy isn't really pregnant. The Shawn/Jada baby is the best option. Today was pretty solid. I agree that Gabi tearing Belle/Paulina a new one was the best part of today, and I'm happy to say that is actually saying something because I was completely invested in Ava seeing the light about Brady, Rachel turning on EJ, and the Shawn/Jada hookup aftermath. And yeah, I'm excited with all the build up for the upcoming Bring it on!
  13. If we're repping for a white woman to be on this show, I'm going to always say Fiona Hutchison, but ya'll are getting ahead of yourselves as per.
  14. Maybe it's just my perception because of the upcoming change, but Friday and today's especially felt different, for the better. More serious, a little deeper. Things with Rachel Blake seemed to be explained a little better. She hates the DiMeras again and Kristen made sure to mention she's lost her damn mind. But I was with you, if I was Ava, I would have thrown hands on the old bat. I noticed with the actress being Australian, she seemed to struggle with the word displeasure, which I found amusing. I do hope she gets a scene with Marlena before she's (hopefully) written out. And even though EJ/Kristen shouldn't have a brother/sister relationship (it should be much more twisted) the actors have great scene partner chemistry with each other. Me of 10 years ago would slap me across the face, but I'm going to officially say I'm an EJ fan. Love to hate the bastard. Tina Huang was fun as Melinda today, too. You could tell Holly is dickmatized and she doesn't even know it. I bet she's seen those videos online ... iykyk. Gwen wondering if she could get a hug from Brady came off so weird. Once he left, EOB settled into the role much better. Of course, that horrible wig was doing everything it could to ruin her scenes. I'm excited to see how Theresa muddles everything up this time. The line I bought the most as Theresa being a mother to Tate was when he basically said she was messed up too and she called him out on it. The adults are acting more like adults, ever so slightly. And Tate really felt like a teenager today, too. I'm hanging to the hope that's it's a good sign of things to come.
  15. Lovely, I'll get stuck in. Thank you.
  16. Coming back to the show as a regular viewer as I did in late fall, I went in with the knowledge that most areas were pared down considerably, and through the enjoyment I get from the show (yes, it's there), one of the biggest difficulties I have day-to-day is the horrible scoring they now. There's especially one that's very 'honky tonk' cheap and embarrassing and completely anti-soap opera, like it's being used as a repellent against all viewers. The fact that Marty Davich started after Bill Bell had already left, who we all know was a master at incorporating music, and probably one of the few to use it at a consistent and successful level, to the point where it became part of its brand, only adds to the strength of Davich's talents that he had that simple throughline from a time before his own. If you know of any of his GH work out there, I would love to listen to it. Which brings about a question I have: Does anyone know who would own the music rights to the scores he composed on the soaps? It's a shame his tv work isn't on Spotify, to my recollection. It's certainly not on his artist's page.
  17. He recurred as a pianist background character on DAYS from 1977-1993, while scoring the show with various beautiful themes. He was also a composer for GH/PC, and in primetime his work is best known from ER. Susan Seaforth Hayes posted this tribute to Marty Davich about his passing ... Here's an obituary announcing his passing. I'd also like to remind everyone that a generous soul posted a full album of tracks that he composed for DAYS on Youtube ... They are all lovely, but this one "Roman's Death Theme" immediately brings me to an emotional place.
  18. I thought aspects of the DiMera lunch from hell worked, especially that establishing shot to end the scene after it all blew up. Dan F is very, very good as EJ. Dare I say, the best male actor on the show ... who gets material at least. On the other side of the coin is Peyton Meyer; I want to like him much more than I do but he seems like he takes a valium right before they say action in every single scene. It's so disappointing.
  19. Anyone else pick up on hints that Derek is potentially abusive/controlling towards Ashley?
  20. I'm happy for Anora's triumphs, but I'm gutted that Demi Moore didn't win. However, adding something positive, I thought Conan O'Brien was a wonderful host, not that I ever doubted him. They absolutely need to get rid of the cringey nominee praising from the presenters. It's always so eye-rolling and suffocating to watch. When they got to the showing clips for the lead categories, it was such a relief. Also, and this is a pet peeve of mine, nominees shouldn't be presenters.
  21. Enter RuPaul ... "Don't blame that sh*t on them!" 😄
  22. For me, Martin was an important enough character where they could have just had him leave the square, not even London, just the square. Mention him as a haven for his children during dramas or breaks. He could still be a good father. As for dramatically, I think a huge part should have been that 1) he didn't love Ruby, but most importantly 2) he did love Stacey, but after Max and her recent cheating with Jack, it should have been paramount that he felt he could never trust her again. Not everything has to be big, bigger, biggest, especially with one of the more grounded characters like him.
  23. Losing Madelyn Kientz was huge compared to thus unnatural, awkward alien creation now known as Sophia Choi. Under her original portrayer, Sophia could have been a long-standing character who a family was eventually built around, Kientz was that good. Now I just want her to go away as fast as possible. At least now Abigail Klein is the second worst actor on the show.
