D’Andra is in the hospital, but doesn’t seem as bad as that link made it out to be.

This was a long time coming for Gizelle. Each season I feel she’s gotten more in likable than the previous season and it’s bizarre because Bravo pushes her as the face of the show. She is NOT likable. She doesn’t have a fabulous life. She is HATEFUL. I just don’t know where you go with her. I’m disappointed Monique is leaving, but who could blame her? The gaslighting was insane. I will say, production showed this entire reunion that they had her back. Andy came off incredibly biased and completely lost me after tonight. Monique is so popular that they’re running a risk letting her go. In the age of Covid, who has four homes they could use for cast trips? Who has a full family to film with, money and a husband? They lose a lot without her. Candiace has never been likable and if we’re being honest, she only got some type of fan base after the fight. I fully expect her to be unbearable next season. Gizelle is also unbearable. Robyn is just there. I don’t see how they will make it work.

Looking at y’all’s comments, I think had they paired Mal with Sally/Kay it could’ve worked. Sally’s hiring was bizarre. They interviewed her out of the blue and immediately hired her without giving her a chance to watch the show (which she hadn’t seen in 10 years) or come up with stories. She literally had to start work and figure it out. You can only do that if the person is already on staff. All things considered they did well and progressively got better as stories were implemented. They fixed all the characters and issues the show had before they had arrived. I loved that they had no interest in Adam, a character that was burnt out beyond belief and I loved the exits for Chelsea, Chloe and Kevin who had all run their course. Had they paired them with Mal I think they would’ve complimented each other. Even without a co-HW it was just bizarre not to give them more time considering literally every other writer has been given more time. Now we have a case where you have JG who from the time he has returned seems to be in auto pilot. There is no one story you can point to that is memorable. He literally slipped back into what he was writing before and hasn’t stopped. The fact that even pre-Covid ratings were dropping and they do nothing is insane. Now I get that ratings are higher than we know because of streaming, but it still feels like they just don’t care. JG’s contract is up at the beginning of the year so if he’s leaving we should know before January is up. If not I’ll be very disappointed. The show can’t survive another year like this. I also think it’s time for Brad Bell to step down at B&B. He has no passion and I just don’t understand why he doesn’t step down.

Right now I’d swap Melissa Ordway and Donny Boaz with Mark Lawson and Emme Rylan as Chance and Abby to play off their chemistry on GH and also put actors in the roles that can actually act and be given proper story. I feel both characters are stunted based on who is playing them.

With Monique I think they simply couldn’t overlook her popularity. The audience is behind her plus in an age of Covid, she’s the only one with multiple houses they can use for trips. Who could replace the wealth she brings? No one. I’m not surprised she’s back. Also, despite what she said, Candiace won’t pass up the check so I feel she’ll be back. If anything, the women run the risk of icing themselves out if they continue to not work with her.

I hate Sonja for making me laugh so hard lol! I don’t recall, but did she say it was her memory? I could’ve sworn she’s said she blacked out and what she’s saying now is based on having the raw footage and examining what happened. I also don’t believe Monique would’ve destroyed the video of Michael and we have no proof of that.

The weight gain story is unfortunately true, which was common back then. It’s pretty shameful that they’d do that to someone who was an original cast member and popular in the role. I never saw Robin Mattson as Delia, but I can’t see why they’d go out of their way to recast any role they didn’t have to. The show was FULL of recasts.

My god are those looks horrible! Kelly and Gina look the best. I’m stunned at those looks. Wow! Gizelle and Mary Cosby mustve dressed them. On the subject of RHOA, I’m disappointed that Porsha and Kenya are fighting over her protesting. Kenya makes it so hard to like her and it looks like between the stuff with Drew and now Porsha, she’s making herself the villain.

Is there a housewife as loved as Garcelle? Bravo really struck gold with her. Everybody seems to love her! ETA: Heather’s podcast has some tea! She said she was initially just doing a cameo, but the filming went well and she realized the season was going to be different so she signed on as an official friend. Other than that, the biggest thing she mentioned is that Luann pretty much dumped her when she left the show, so there is some friction between them now. She also said when she was on before that the 4th wall was completely off limits, but that’s gone now. She mentioned that the old HWs will try to shut certain conversations down, but the new housewives won’t allow that so I’m assuming we will get some of that. The New York girls are doing a great job of providing us with true teases. She feel like there is so much we don’t know, but the little nuggets I do know I like!

For the first time ever, RHOP had higher ratings in total viewers AND the demo than RHOA! Now I know delayed ratings are important so both shows will go up, but my god is this drop Troubling for Atlanta. The ironic thing about Nene’s issues is that had she either taken the $1 million for 5 episodes offer OR just sat this season out quietly, she would’ve been asked back at a record price after this ratings drop. Now it seems she’s screwed herself. In other ratings news, SLC got one of the biggest gains in the demo for all of tv, so that explains why Andy said it’s a hit for them. They’re likely doing well in streaming as well.

Riverdale isn’t on brand for ABC. Considering the network I’m not sure why everybody is so concerned about the tone. If this were on CW, CBS or NBC I’d be more concerned, but an AMC in primetime that still feels like AMC I feel is very on brand for them. I don’t expect a super dark and serious show.

The way they did Monique was wild! If it wasn’t for production she’d be on record as a liar! And I highly doubt Andy or anybody else will correct the record on WWHL! That was wild to me for production to go so hard against Andy and the other girls.

With ABC you’re correct. It has to start with a splash or they will give up on it. If it debuts to decent ratings and good delayed viewing then we could get a few seasons out of it. But gone are the days they’ll wait for an audience to grow.

Debbi is on the Power spin off too. Honestly if they’re smart they’ll lean heavily into black representation for the show. Debbi is known by viewers of all ages and she can pull in black viewers. If they used Debbi Morgan, Susan Lucci and Eva Larue as faces for the show I do think that could go a long way to making the show successful. You cover a lot of bases just with those three heading the different families. The casting for the new actors will be important too. I feel like other than the writing, what hurt the new Dallas was that they had a bunch of unknowns who weren’t the strongest actors. Because of that the only pull was the original actors. This needs to be a modern reboot with a compelling cast overall.

And people wonder why the soaps are never called out for how they treat their black actors.

Welp. I guess Erika said she’s not going down with the ship lol. My first thought is that those messages look old and while it can help people to think the divorce is real, I’m not sure how it helps her liability with everything else.

Im not sure how I feel about this. It looks okay, but none of the women are popping from the trailer.

I just don’t see it being dark like that. That’s not how ABC does soaps. I’d be much more worried if this was on CBS, CW or especially NBC which can’t do a soap to save their lives, unless u count This Is Us. I wonder when we will start learning casting. Once they announce actors they usually give a character description which will add to the excitement. I fully expect them to announce Susan Lucci first which should give them lots of buzz at least.

More than Riverdale, I see the show having more in common with a Desperate Housewives or This Is Us. I think the biggest difference other than the primetime format will be that it has a central mystery which seems to be the thing to do with any primetime soap these days. I don’t think the darkness of Riverdale would fit the ABC brand. Also I like that both writers are actual fans of the show. Im cautiously optimistic.

I tweeted the HW/EP and this is promising. So at least now we know the Hubbard’s will also be involved. Not too surprising considering Debbi Morgan is still so successful. The success of AMC alums I feel is going to make this an easier sell than had they tried this with some other soaps.

Desperate Housewives, Greys Anatomy, Million Little Things. ABC primetime is full of soaps. Also a daytime soap is going to be hard to sell because of the costs. Would you rather nothing? Sure it could flop as many primetime shows do, but it could work. The alternative of letting these properties die is worse IMO.

The Deadline article had more details and confirmed it’s a sequel that will include new next generation characters as well as legacy characters. Because they mention the Santos and Kane families, obviously Susan Lucci and Eva Larue (who is besties with Ripa) will appear and Deadline also said Mark and Kelly will likely make guest appearances. I think this is a great idea and a smart way to use those series. A primetime reboot is obviously cheaper than a daytime one and has a better chance at success. I hope this works out for them. I find it promising you have Agnes Nixon’s son involved as well as former cast members who love the show and genre. I also like that the new writers know the show and I like their British soap experience since those soaps tend to be more progressive with storytelling compared to modern daytime soaps. I hope this is a success for ABC and causes networks to look at their soap properties differently. It’s crazy that every network has a streaming service where the soaps perform well, but they have no spin offs for the soaps. Im curious to see how casting ends up being for this. For example, for Kendall I could see them approaching Sarah Michelle Gellar since she’s a bigger name than Alicia Menshew. I’m also curious if they would try to recast any of the adult roles we know. Bianca and JR as examples. I could see that going either way.

This is really exciting news! I remember when EW did the reunion for AMC the cast mentioned being interested only if it was a primetime series. I love that Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos are involved considering their love of the show and genre. I also like that the writers have strong soap experience via Eastenders. I’m very curious how this cast will shape up. I feel like Eva Larue is a shoo in considering her friendship with Ripa and them specifically mentioning the Santos family. Susan Lucci will obviously be front and center, potentially I could see them at least trying to get Sarah Michelle Gellar as well. Considering it is for primetime, I wonder if they would recast any established roles (Bianca for example) instead of going with the Daytime actor known for the role. For the record I’m not suggesting Eden should be recast, I was just using her as an example.

So I take it this Billy episode was another Delia related episode? Did they include Chloe? It sickens me how her pain is often overlooked, especially after they basically turned her into a psycho and did nothing to redeem her. I don’t think Kevin or Chloe are needed, but she’s on contract so why isn’t she just as involved when mentioning Delia? JG seems to go out of his way not to give the female characters depth.

This expose sums it up very well and shows how widespread this has been. I had no idea that Erika Jayne was going to end until she was cast on RHOBH, which likely caused the costs to skyrocket even more. Crazy to think he was so legitimately rich and STILL felt the need to steal from people.
