-- Is Wednesday CLICHE DAY? Because I have never heard so many cliches in a soap episode in my life. I felt as if an AI prompt asked for "a soap script filled with as many cliches as possible in every scene."
-- Not crazy about the casting for Smitty's mother. In her defense, almost every line of dialogue was a cliche.
-- The set-up to Naomi's and Jacob's argument was weird as hell. They're both home in the middle of the day and she's watching a rom com on an iPad? And then 5 seconds after joining her to watch it, Jacob erupts and says he hates their agreement not to discuss work at home? Huh?
-- Then they argue intensely...until returning to the rom com on the iPad. And why in the hell did they need ear buds to watch the movie?
-- My point? I have no problem with Naomi and Jacob airing out their problems, but not with this kind of awkward set up.
-- I do have a problem with Jacob's insistence that Smitty is "not 100% innocent." He's pushing Smitty as a murderer, which is really off.
-- A citizen confronting Martin is a good idea. The execution was bizarre, and didn't play naturally. That conversation was filled with -- you guessed it -- cliches and stereotypes. Then this JB person arrives to defend Martin, but it's not like Edmonia was attacking Martin physically or screaming at him. JB needed to mind his own business.
-- More scenes with Izaiah and Eva glazing each other. Ho-hum.
-- Good to have Pamela back, even if she returned with another variation of her accent 😂
