ATWT: Benjamin Hendrickson write up in latest People magazine...

I got my issue of People in the mail today and Benjamin Hendrickson's death made People. This kind of surprised me as People is not well known for covering daytime.

I'll say no more (to not re-open the tragedy and respect the actor's privacy on a messageboard) except some heartbreaking details were in the article. So, if anyone is interested, pick the issue up.

thanks for the note

Yeah, thanks for giving us the heads-up. I too am surprised People Magazine mentioned his death.

I won't be getting People's Magazine, but could someone please give me details in a PM?

Thanks for the info!

The contents should have been kept private and not released to the public. Thank you Wendy for respecting the privacy of his family and not re-opening wounds that have not quite healed yet.

Wow, if they're that awful, then shame on People. They should know better and to respect the family, friends, co-workers, and even the fans of the show.

I'm going to make sure to avoid that issue. My parents get a subscription and usually I read it, but I'm not going to read this week's. :(

Thanks for the heads up.

Anyone who discusses what was in the article will have their account warned. The contents should have been kept private and not released to the public.

that's a very slippery slope for SON to be thinking of going down. Barring discussion of magazine articles because they're in poor taste.

Ok fine. Talk about what was in the article, I don't care. If someone says something insensitive about Ben or the situation, no one should complain to us about how tasteless it is.

Discussion is good. Even about this sensitive subject. But something tasteless and/or cruel, wouldn't that be just cause to report and delete the offending comment, regardless of subject?

Ryan, since I am the OP, if you think it would just be better to delete this altogether, feel free. I had no idea such a problem would result; I just wanted to give a heads up since it was unusual for such a publication to have an article pertaining to daytime.

Now that it's done, delete this if it'll avoid headaches. Your call.

No no Wendy. I over reacted. Helena and Drew are right and I apologize if I seemed rude. :)

If anyone makes an offending comment (and i doubt they will since SON has really great members), it'll just be deleted. No need to censor in advance.

I appreciate the reconsideration on censorship, Ryan.

That said, I wish someone would discuss some of what was said in the People magazine. I won't be reading that magazine (I just don't 'do' People) but perhaps the details are things that someone on this very message board can learn from. (I say that not knowing what it is). Regardless of what it is, if it's in People, it's already public knowledge and should be included in the marketplace of ideas on this board. It might be educational and helpful in understanding others.

I just don't feel right sharing the details, hence why I told who was on the cover so people could read the article themselves privately rather than analyze them on the 'net. We're respectful. But there may be those that lurk who are not.

Suffice it to say, there's really nothing one could "learn" from the article. The details were just rather sad and a bit intrusive.

Was the article like "A piece" or was it an actual sort of layout? I don't know really what I'm wanting to call it.

I will read it just to see what it says, but I think it goes back to how we'll remember our Benji. I love him as an actor and the role he played. ATWT, much like GL have been such a huge part of my life, that the news devestates me. I don't really know...how to feel or what to say, seeing as I don't have the article, you know.
