B&B: Taylor Runs Overy Darla (7/13/06)

Amazing.....The world of "Soap Land" really intrigues me at times. Today's episode proved that once again for me.

Phoebe gets a flat tire, panics, calls her mom. After about fifteen minutes of Taylor driving fast and squinting through the horrible special effects fog, she calls Darla. Within seconds, Darla's there. Amazing!

This is where it gets good. Darla says "One more lugwrench" and tries with all her might to push it down. The way the camera looked, (I might mess up here but it's what it looked like to me) she was pushing down to the right. Uh....righty tighty anyone? And she's trying to change the flat, right?! Whatever..

Amazing how that tire tool just slipped and went flying. In reality, it would've flown off a couple of feet, Taylor would have swerved, everything would have been a-okay. Instead, the tire tool pulled a grown woman into the street with it...just drug her along for the ride, I guess. BTW, since when did tire tools become so forceful that they could pull grown women into the path of oncoming traffic?!

Once Taylor hit Darla and they met eyes, Darla seemed pretty okay. The way she hit that car, maybe she had a few breaks and sprains...maybe a concussion. Then...like a true idiot, Taylor gasses it and then slams on her brakes, thus throwing Darla from the hood of the car to the ground.

While Phoebe tries to see about Darla, you could hear tires moving very sllooowwwwlllyy. In reality, Taylor would have jumped out of her car once she put it in park and gone over to see about Darla. However, this is Soap Land and that didn't happen. Taylor drove forward a few more feet before she actually stopped the car, knowing Taylor: probably inspected it for damage, and then ran over to attend to Darla.

This could have been wonderfully choreographed, but instead...it wasn't. I don't see why they couldn't just have Darla slip and break her neck or something. Would have been alot better than watching the "Soap Land" version of someone running over someone else that we got today. <_<

OMG what is Taylor on? My jaw literally dropped when she stepped on the gas and slammed on the breaks. WTF?! The look on Taylor's face almost said, "get this [!@#$%^&*] off my windshield." Ew, I hate Taylor now.

I can't wait to see this play out though....

I thought it looked ok

I'm just mad that Darla has to be sacrificed to give Taylot a story. I'd rather give Darla a story by running over and killing Taylor!! Sorry, can't stand Taylor, or Hunter Tylo's over the top acting. I hope Taylor has to face the consequences of her actions, but knowing Bell and his fondness for Taylor's character, I'm sure she'll come out smelling like a rose. After all, we can't tarnish her image.

Exactly. I can't stand Taylor and Hunter's portrayal is less than desirous.

It was 'dingbat' Darla changing it, not a professional, lol. But I just took it as, she was pulling to get it off, and she was pulling so hard that when it finally gave, she fell backward into the street. She was too close to the road anyway. This situation happens in real life. People are too close to traffic while they are changing tires or doing other work and tragedy strikes.

I'm sorry but I don't give a sh*t.

The whole accident was heavily over-choreographed but, boy, did it deliver. This scene was so shocking and chilling!!! :o

My jaw literally dropped to the floor and - minus me having Botox-free lips LOL! - I guess I had the same look as Taylor when she saw Darla's face; yet I knew what was gonna happen. I don't think I've seen such a disturbing scene on daytime ever before. It felt exactly like the shocker ending of season 1 of "24" when Teri was killed by Nina...

You're kidding right? Did you SEE the way Taylor dissed the Forrester family? Slept with Brooke's daddy?

She hasn't smelled like a rose since she kissed Hector.

This week was really good IMO. I'm pissed off that Darla had to die, but B&B was the best I've seen it in ages. B&B has always been about laying out the theatrics. The accident was pure B&B style: so campy and over-the-top, I loved it! Only B&B can get away w/ it! That's why I watch the show.

I'm glad that they've quit w/ the little angel attitude w/ Taylor. I hated when she was Stephanie's lapdog. Hunter Tylo's scenes when she told Stephanie and the rest of the Forresters off were amazing. I'm sure that when the truth comes out, the fur's going to fly!!

I'm surprised...Bell still has it in him. Why can't he make the Brooke/Nick saga as interesting as his other storylines?

But damn! Brooke and Popeye are back? That honeymoon was way too short! Now B&B will be back to its mediocre self. Sigh.

Why would dissing the Forresters tarnish her image. Stephanie hadn't given her the time of day since she decided that Ridge should have Brooke, plus she only gave her 2% for all Taylor's loyalty. Taylor was pissed, and had every right to be. Why would sleeping with Stephan tarnish her image? They were both free consenting adults, and I thought they connected, and I liked them together. If Patrick Duffy hadn't left, I could have seen them as a viable couple. Imagine the problem thet would have caused, especially if Taylor became Brooke's stepmother?? Now that would have made a great story.

To raise your spirits a bit: Monday is honeymooner free as it seems...

Lol, wow, I got hit by a car when I was 12. Rolled up on the hood, and when she stopped the car I flew 40 feet before landing on the asfualt. All I got was a broke ankle. LOL, looked like the car kinda tapped her.

It was campy, and way over soapy, but I kinda like it. :)
