I watch the all the killings again this weekend and it was a very great storyline right down to Doug kicking Marlena's ass in the that graveyard. What I don't get was why the change the story to make the Tony the mastermind?? With everything Marlena went through with a crazy twin, DJ's death, two Romans, wacked out Kristen, being kidnapped numerous of times, why couldn't she just went crazy. I love the part when Marlena into Nicole and Jan in the rain and blast them about messing with Belle and told them she had to skidaddle.

Favorite part? Too many to name! Maggie's murder, the emotion behind Jack's death, Cassie in the pinata, Marlena poisoned at Caroline's wake, Caroline singing at her own wake!, Kate in her wedding dress screaming after Roman is murdered, Doug kicking Marlena's ass, Tony and the tiger, Marlena hypnotizing Celeste..... but the winning has got to be the episode where Marlena was revealed as the killer. WOW.

Least favorite? I'm going to only count everything PRE Melaswen. I'd have to say the scenes of Marlena in jail with the other prisoners. Lame.

I don't quite believe the storyline was changed. Well, if it was, I'm glad. Melaswen was lame, but I'm happy to have Jack, Maggie, Caroline, Doug and Alice back with us.

they made Tony the mastermind bc that was their easiest way to undo the story and bring back all the dead people.

My favorite part of the storyline was the beginning half, especially when Maggie drew the eyes. Those were some incredibly scary eyes! It was fun when everyone at SON tried to speculate who they belonged to. Her "death" was also one of the creepiest I've ever seen on TV. It rivaled any horror movie they make today.

My least favorite part: when Tony was revealed to be the mastermind and that awful finale to Captive Island. I can't believe the whole thing was done just to one-up Stefano. I could have bought it if Tony had become totally obsessed with Marlena, and this whole thing was to alienate her from the town so much, he had to take her away somewhere where she could be all his. Before this all happened, there was the story with him putting her into a trance with that pillow, and it looked like the writers were setting up a John/Marlena/Tony triangle, with Tony falling for Marlena and plotting to steal her away from John. I still think the beginning of the SSK started with that mind control.

Why do you think the storyline was changed? Well, there are still some people who think this was the plan all along. I used to think there weren't any last-minute re-writes, but now I'm not so sure. You don't fire 10 people to bring them all back and say "Ha-ha! It was just a hoax!"---however, considering all the buzz and that DAYS was the soap not to miss during that time---it could have been deliberate to spike ratings and increase viewers. I think that question will continue to be a mystery.

My favorite part of the storyline: God! Way too many to name! All of the deaths! Marlena's reveal. All of the Marlooney drama. Melaswen reveal. The reunions on Melaswen. THE SSK ROCKED!!!

My least favorite part: Everything that happened after the Olympics.

Once again, too many to name!

- Jan's return and her part in helping Nicole kill Victor to blame the stalker

- The airtime and use that Celeste was given

- The excellent material that Dee had after Marlena was revealed to be the psycho killer

- The stortyline focussing on the whole canvas

- The CLIFFHANGERS and ADDICTION that had you coming back EVERY SINGLE DAY!!!

...and so many more things!

Because JER realized that he had killed off too many fan favorites. Myself, I didn't have a problem with the dead characters.

My favorite part was Roman's death at his wedding to Kate....beautifully portrayed and one of those jaw dropping shocker moments that most likely never leaves your mind

Least favorite has to be Captive Island-you mean to tell me they wrapped up an emotionally charged story with this crap of them all being alive? I felt let down

Storyline changed to accomodate fan reaction, some of which found it utterly distasteful and a lack of respect for veterans

My final grade for Salem Stalker would be a B

Yeah, that's a great montage! I just watched it last night. PHENOMENAL!

I looooved everything up until the Olympics cliffhanger. Man, I was addicted from August 2003 until August 2004--all the murders were so awesome, and Deidre got some really good, really juicy material!

I just recently watched the Youtube clip where she has the fantasy of killing John and stabs him over and over again as she's bawling her eyes out...beautiful!!

OMG there is so much. The story rocked until Marlena arrived on Melaswen. Then it started to show holes and after the Wimbledon break it became terrble with people falling off cliffs, etc. After the olympics, it became stupid and worthless. The damn mastermind should have been Ernesto (see my blog ). That could have fit together niceless. I mean Soapnet even showed an episode from the COD story in 1990 with the same islanf logo we saw on Melaswen showing up on Isabella's bed post. Ugh

What I loved:

-The fashion show and its awesome cliifhanger that screamed JER is back(Bope laying in blood )

-Alice and Celeste getting signs of doom (loved the use of Tom Horton)

-Abe's death and the buildup and fallout (Renee Jones's blood curdling scream)

-Jack's death and his ghost visiting Jennifer and dancing with her while flashbacks showed.

-THe buildup to Maggie's death (creepy)

-Maggie's death (gruesome, creepy, suspensefu;-best stuff I have ever seen IMO-better then any horror flick-Suzanne rocked it and that image of Mickey and Maggie on the floor . Loved how the episode only focused on a few characters too)

-Rex and the headaches.

-Caroline's death and the fallout. Peter Reckell rocked it and I loved her wake and funeral (her singing ).

-The John and Marlena prophecy from Caroline.

-Cassie's death by pinata-very gruesome .

-Roman's death and his wedding to Kate (Lauren Koslow deserved an emmy for this [!@#$%^&*]). Dee and Alki were superb too.

-Christmas in Salem (very poignant)

-The Marlena reveal.

-The circus and all the chaos with Tony and the tiger (loved the ladies in the cage with fire around them and Bonnie using flames to fend off the killer).

-Marlena/Celeste in Marlena's bedroom

-Marlena going after Shawn

-Doug's death (I will never forget when Julie saw Doug's ghost disappear and Hope appeared and they both emrbaces and starting crying.)

-Everything building up to Alice's death and the death itself (Sami fighting John, Marlena/Alice, Marlena/John faceoff, Tom coming for Alice )

-Deidre Hall as Hattie

-Seeing posession flashbacks and seeing Marlena possessed again even for a few minutes (when she was strangling Kirsten Storm's Belle I just kept saying "Go! Go!" )

-Marlena 'dying" in John's arms and him carrying her to church.

-Marlena coming to Celeste saying everyone would die (this is the most forgotten point IMO-after this never came to pass no one can tell Days did not rewrite the story )

-Marlena arriving on Melaswen and the return of the dead.

-J&J's reunion on the island.
