i liked this season, but i also dont judge any show this season to harsh because of the writers strike. also i doubt they knew if it was coming back. there were no great stories no but i do think this is the ebsts eason overall for char's.

it was like this ntire seasonw as a setup for soemthing but with no payoff so i can understand the hate.

but damn. im so over fukin lucas scott. i dont care who you are with just pick someone!!

i also did like that there wasnt too much brooke because she is so overhyped, IMHO.

I've never cared for Lucas, I think it has something to do with the fact that I really dislike Chad. He was the reason I didn't start watching this show until season 3 or something. I downloaded all the seasons and tried my best to ignore him.

Btw. We could've done without Lindsey this season. Poor actress, and just not a likable character.

When did Naley breka up? could we even call it that. Seriously they had one fight and then next episode they were in bed together having sex. I would not call that a break up I would have been ecstatic if they broke up because they are far better more interesting characters when they are seperated from one another. But we didnt even see them seperated for a extended period. At worst they broke up for what maybe an episode or two?

As to Brooke being an overhyped character I must disagree. The most over hyped female character on this show is Peyton Sawyer just watch any of the previous seasons and there she is front and center the entire time. I think the only season where she is played down is season 2 every. single. other. season she is arguablly the second biggest character on the show. She also gets the best storylines. She gets better material then the entire cast and that is shown by Marky Marks obsession with her. Look at the way Mark writes Peyton to how he writes Brooke and Hayley and you will see a MAJOR difference. I know alot of posters here talk about "propping" well it is in full swing with Peyton.

I actually think Chad is an exceptional actor, besides Paul he is by far the most talented actor on the series. He carried the show during the first and second seasons and he often brings the most to the table during scenes when talking about the five principal actors: Chad, Sophia, Hilare, Bethany and James.

I didnt mind Lindsey until Marky Mark bended over backward to make Lindsey sympathetic. I was liking her just fine until they pulled out the "my dad died of cancer" plot line to make Peyton look like the evil woman. Prior to that she was fine.

Yes, it was short. But it was a break up. That last scene when Jamie almost drowned was quite dramatic. This story wasn't just about the actual break up. It all started before that when nanny Carrie tried to get Nathan's attention. Then Haley had trust issues when they did get back together, which continued on for more then one or two episodes.

Then there was all the messed up stuff with Nathan when the season started. He and the marriage was in pretty bad shape.

Yes he's talented, never said he wasn't. I just don't like him.

I lost interest in the show after the first two eps of Season 5. It's not that I don't like it, it's just that I feel bored while watching it. Okay, then maybe I don't like it anymore. But still, I might tune in someday again.

You are not the only one. She will always be Jo from Melrose Place to me. I do like her bitchy though :)

Psycho Nanny is scary as hell. They are really upping the anti of the drama. I just hate Lucas' choice as I hate that bitch. Brooke needs a real man, and that man just ain't it. Brooke/Lucas are to primetime what Carly/Jason are to me for daytime. Couples I want, but actor interference ruins. Ugh!

I'm willing to bet the farm that Brooke's mother is behind her getting beat up and it's really fucked up...but it makes for good drama. I guess I'm the only one that likes Lucas and Peyton together. I guess it's because ONLY like them together.

Carrie is a grade-A nutjob. I mean she's fit to be put in a white jacket and locked in a padded room. But I do kinda like her giving Dan's ass hell.

    • I knew you would be so excited seeing your girl Brookey as #1!!!! She also WINS as to Frequently Married!!!
    • Yes, Stacy does this both for early DAYS & early GH. I have written some for her, for DAYS. But just one tiny point & that is that she only deals with DVDs. I realize that is not the point of your posting but it seemed the right thing to clarify. I know that you know that video tapes is past, not present.
    • Hahahha I think sleeping with almost all of your daughters's boyfriends and husbands and getting pregnant... definitely gives Brooke the right to top 1 place. Long live the whore of Beverly hills.

    • CurlyQGrl has DVDs of some episodes, that they can sell, but that doesn't matter. What is helpful: they describe the scenes on the tapes, so you can read that as recaps without ordering anything. Doesn't really give storylines, though, which is what you asked for.  Here's the links anyhow. full menu https://www.angelfire.com/tv/curlyqgrl/menu.html GH page https://www.angelfire.com/tv/curlyqgrl/gh/menu.html GH 1960s https://www.angelfire.com/tv/curlyqgrl/gh/eps/gheps1960s.htm
    • I would argue that Another World never played "everything" for laughs. Even when there were comedic scenes in some storylines there were other storylines that were not intended as comedy.  You give 1988 as the end point, and Mary was on the canvas from August 1986 to February 1989, so she must have overlapped with the despised laughs you are referring to at least half of the time she was there. I honestly can't recall any real comedy that Mary would have been part of. I don't think she was lighthearted about choosing between two husbands, MJ's prostitution, Kathleen's death, or even her son Scott dating her daughter Cheryl.  I would have said that the amount of comedy depended on the head writer and there was more comedy under Richard Culliton and Gary Tomlin in 1984 than subsequent headwriters. I guess there was an outbreak of more comedy when Cecile kidnapped Cass from his wedding in 1986, but in general the Sin Stalker wasn't presented as funny, Mitch's return wasn't funny, John's arrival wasn't funny, Reginald wasn't funny. The tone was serious even if the plots verged on the ludicrous. And maybe that's what you mean -- but I would make a distinction between intentional comedy and storylines I can't take seriously for other reasons.
    • I'm excited for us to get back to a full weeks worth of episodes and also us beginning to move into the episodes filmed once the show premiered. We're already starting to see changes in the lighting and the way certain characters are styled. Of course we know this week we have our first recast as well. After the big Eva reveal, I hope the show continues to move into a positive direction and that we see them starting to fix some of the things we've all had issues with.
    • It seems like they may have been going in one direction for Andre and then changed their mind. He had this player/bachelor thing going at first where he was messing with Dani, seemed to be feeling Eva, and then somehow smitten by bland Ashley of all people. I feel like Ashley was supposed to be the one that finally made him want to be with someone and settle. The way he talked her up in those earlier episodes was really confusing. The wonderful, amazing nurse Ashley and conveniently she's unattainable because she has a partner, but he can't stop thinking of her and takes these busted pics of her. It was a mess. However, it all seems to have been dropped. I honestly feel like Andre can go. That may be an unpopular opinion but I don't need his breathy final syllable to be content with BTG. It's always like "There's gotta be another wh-ahyy"
    • This is where McLaibey falls apart. It becomes clear that McTavish had not thought past Brent/Marion...so the energy drops and she starts throwing things at the wall (Blakes twins, Lonatrat.)   Fans HATED this funeral. Everyone is mad at everyone else, which is fine, the death of a beloved community figure would give people a reason to come together...(Quint and Nola could come together at least for  a bit to support each other, Nola and VAn could finally admit they kinda, sorta like each other) Its just an example of McTavish's mean writing.   I have a feeling they were going to make Dahlia Frank's kid but they chickened out. Making Tina a prostitute didn't help, they could have been lovers when they were young but felt society pressure to part. Marcus took over David's role (you can't have two young black men at that time...)   Get used to it...this will happen, the same storyline over and over until the end.
