Just starting today's... but LOVE that it's starting out with a song. I love music montages on soaps. Just really brings out the emotions in those characters (and me).

I will never stop beating the drum of what a horrible, off-putting, and irrelevant character Ashley is, and what a boring actress Jen Jacob is (she can’t rise above the horrible writing for her charac

MVJ definitely needs to slow down with her unwarranted fascination with Jon Lindstrom - the character is awfully written, but there is nothing interesting about Lindstrom’s performance either. Frankly

Do I skip over the opening too often or is Ernestine Johnson (Shanice) finally in it? It's time for a contract.

Sadly she is not, but totally agree with you!

I got a chuckle out of today's sponsor bumper being 🎶 800 588 2300 Empire 🎶.

Then this Lexapro ad gets stuck in our faces.

I know it helps pay the bills, but I can't stand big pharmacy.

On that note. Daphne..... so lovely. ❤️❤️

-- Really weird to see the entire Dupree family and friends take over the entire reception area around the nurses desk. They should have repurposed a set to be a waiting room. Hanging around counters where doctors and nurses need access? I guess the Duprees can do anything they like.

-- It's great that the hospital has no other patients the day after the tornado and that everything is calm there for the Duprees to gather.

-- The Martin livestream was also weird. Yes, they'll offer free meals there for tornado victims, but we'll never see any of that. It's election day and he has no one with him but a guy with a camera and tripod?

-- So Victor Newman's campaign speech didn't get lost with the tornado and its aftermath. I mean, come on.

-- We should have had dialogue indicating that many people might not vote at all after what happened. I appreciate working the campaign and election into the show at all, but some of it is cringe.

-- Joey is there for Izaiah? Just gag me. How does Elon have no idea that Izaiah and Joey were in each others' lives?

-- Pleather-clad Vanessa and Joey should disappear. I'd rather Smitty had been at the hospital than to see those two at all.

-- The Kat and Eva stuff was well done, including the visits to their bedsides.

Taking over the hospital.

Cinematically, there was an angle used in the hospital by the nurses' station that is fairly uncommon for a soap nowadays. When Leslie entered there was a diagonal sort of shot that allowed for all of the Duprees to be shown as well. Those technical aspects really do help make scenes.

Folks online are really upset with Eva's response after being told Kat gave her part of her liver.

Kat made no effort to hide her disdain for Eva, why wouldn't she ask the question, willingly?

  • Member

I think Eva made sense in asking if Kat "willingly" gave up part of her liver.

However, I also understand the online pushback to her comment. A lot of people went after Kat last week when she talked about Eva, so why wouldn't Eva get the same treatment?

I'm #TeamKat, but I acknowledge she wasn't a good person with her Eva comments last week. Likewise, it's not a good look for Eva to make her first statement about her life being saved to be "Did she do it willingly?" I mean, really, Eva?

So I look at it this way: If Kat was wrong, so is Eva. I understand both of them getting called out.

It was a great shot, but that was my point. The rest of the town was ignored.

Where is Heather aka The Impaler? If she's gone already that's a waste. Maybe could've used her somehow in the liver transplant storyline?

Deanna and her DaddyDoug hallucinations are also missing. That could at least serve as a B or C plot.

I wish Martin had lost the primary. I've never in my life seen a politician make a speech with zero supporters around him. If they are never going to show him do anything in his position, I'd rather not have the story at all.

It's also just super cringe how he's a superhero who a tree fell on yesterday and his sisters are in surgery and he's just offhandedly texting as if it's all an afterthought, even though "the exit polls are so close" but he's not out there hustling.

Separately, I hope Kat refuses to speak to him for a while. He was really mean to her and it didn't feel like it was coming from a place of love for Eva, like others.

Other than that, strong show, good camera work and all that. Love that Eva didn't lose some of her 'tude.

I really think it was a mistake to make Izaiah a good guy like his brother. It doesn't fit his backstory of a checkered past, his arguments with his father, or the (stupid) Joey mentorship.

They've sanded away the edges on Izaiah the same way they've sanded the edges off Eva.

Today they implied Luke is the bad one and lives far away. Am I wrong to think he was a local cop and close with his dad?

I totally agree with you about Izaiah, but I've become a fan, so I won't complain too much. I just wish they had actually shown him counseling students so we could have seen this evolution and decided for ourselves.

me too! the ida of him as a congressman has been a joke since day one! having him lose, the writers would have had to take him in a new direction that made some kind of sense. but, alas…
