Unless Lexie comes back as a boss bitch villainess there was never any reason to resurrect her. I don't blame Nikki Crawford who is notably good in other things elsewhere (and it's got me thinking about Keesha Ward over on GH tbh), but the whole premise and scripting for her here suck and make her worse onscreen.Peter's return and death is especially confusing as there was zero point.I genuinely do feel like someone at the show is just trying to bring back every Dimera they can, even just for a pop-in.

I have never seen the DiMeras as the type to sit around boardrooms talking about their ventures in conventional business storylines or bond about their everyday troubles. It's one thing for E.J., etc. to make power moves and keep up roots in town but it's another to treat them as kind of a shadow version of the Bradys. (And the Kristen recast lasting this long doing nothing much is still crazy to me)

19 hours ago19 hr Member It's gotta be the current regime. Plus, isn't it an established fact that Corday pretty much gives his head writers free reign? There's always been a little too much focus on the Dimeras, even before Ron, but I don't think it was ever like this. Having EJ basically poke his finger into every pie isn't helping all that much either.41 minutes ago, Soapsuds said:Wait a minute, they killed Peter off after the, if you blink, you miss his return.Yep. Rolf injected him with something, and then he was dead. At the time, I thought they were implying that he was gonna be brought back sooner or later, but now I'm not so sure. 7 hours ago7 hr Member What a great opening scene! 😉😍😂😂I liked seeing Holly and Tate be so sweet today, and that he was there for her when she got sick. I just hope she's not pregnant though. But Holly's a lucky girl... in a lot of ways lol and I'm interested in seeing what's going to happen for her and Tate, especially since Amy is now suing her in civil court. I'm also looking forward to seeing how their storyline is going to be tied to other storylines. Raven Bowens continued to do a good job today. I still wouldn't have picked this storyline for her and Johnny, but it is really allowing her to show her talents as an actress, once again. I liked the little bonding scene that she had with Theo and Lani too.Btw, Happy Anniversary Abe and Paulina!Abe was really sweet today and I felt bad for him. As much of a misfire as this whole storyline is, I do like that James Reynolds gets to have scenes like he had today. It's a really good use of him. But yeah... I still don't care about this whole thing about EJ and Rolf trying to keep Lexie alive. Plus, James has absolutely no chemistry with Nikki Crawford. As for the ending, I guess that means that all the speculation about Sydney coming to Salem is actually true.
4 hours ago4 hr Member Nikki Crawford is a bad fit all around. I don't think she has chemistry with anyone in the cast including her friends and siblings. She probably works the best with Theo, but even that chemistry is slightly off.Count me in as another person who assumed Peter would be back. His death was so quick and random.
1 hour ago1 hr Member Days is so predictable and so farcical. The writers and others can't seem to let people stay dead. Without that, the soap seems short on ideas, with tiresome and annoying characters. Of the soaps I watch, three, it's my least favorite.
1 hour ago1 hr Member It's one thing for characters to somehow escape death, pretend to have died by faking it. But actually dying and being resurrected by a Dr. Frankenstein (Dr. Rolf)? More like Dark Shadows, not a relatable soap plots. Days is so out of ideas. Even when it repeats familiar themes and plots, it doesn't do them well, and the denouement is always anticlimactic, after taking forever to get there.
1 hour ago1 hr Member I about died when I tuned in and out of nowhere Lexie or E.J. was like 'the rat Dr. Rolf was working on died!' Is this our standard for medical care in Salem now? Mad scientist Dr. Rolf and some rats? I can't see how I'm supposed to take that story seriously.
