@DramatistDreamer Hats off to you-a great scenario.

Run down one of the BTG writers on a motorcycle and take their job!

LOL, I'll never be as desperate as Leslie.

@DramatistDreamer I enjoyed your plot machinations. Maybe they're not for everyone, but I think you have a lot of good ideas and I don't see a problem with a post like this. It's not as if you write them all the time.

I didn't read any previous comments except for yours and Paul Raven's. I didn't realize I was that chick who caused a whole lotta conversation. 😆

I won't be doing anymore noodling at the keyboard again in regards to this show at this point, because as I said before, I don't work for free (although this is more of a thumbnail sketch, nothing more, no serious plotting involved). The cotillion remark and this-- is where it ends. It was more of a nod to the fact that I actually have a M.F.A. in this sort of thing but I realize soaps aren't written like this and soap fans are used to more basic scenarios. It was an impulse, won't happen again. Oops.

Nothing interesting happened on this show today except the scenes between Doug and Deanna. It looks as if they may have Deanna have a mental breakdown, which would be a shame because it looks like they want to strip away everything that made this character interesting.

😂 Yes, you definitely caused a lot of conversation. I guess that can happen when the show is so meh that no one comments about it.

I'm sure you know you said enough here to get yourself even more comments. 😆

I'll be unhappy, too, if Deanna has a breakdown. I want her to be a force against her trash mother, and instead we're going to get the opposite.

I'm not sure how I feel about Doug being a figment of Deanna's imagination or the two of them having some type of psychic connection. I'm willing to see how it plays out.

I need for Bill to finally catch on that Hayley is a grifter and trying to kill him. The Cotillion is over and that storyline needs to kick into high gear and conclude.

I love to hate Vanessa for being so stupid and gullible. Joey had Doug killed and everyone needs to know that. I don't despise Joey like others do, but I need something more but not sure what that more is yet.

I much prefer Nicole with Kial. He's dreamy and they look great together.

Saw this on FB. Made me chuckle. I don't want it to end. They need to ramp it up full blast.

Well, I had no problems with it. I was just being playful with my post.

I think everyone here is valid and wrong at the same time 😆. I don't take it too seriously.

As for the show, the best thing about it is the characters. You can tell they were fully envisioned and haven't been tainted by years of bad or uncharacteristic writing that often happens in soaps through bad writing or continuous shifts in teams.

I haven't watched yesterday's episode as there are some real life things going on, but it seems like many didn't find it all that interesting. I guess when we had a pretty strong week like the last one, it may seem dull in comparison. Although, I will have to see for myself.

I always thought Jason Graham left BTG for a health reason. Is this maybe why he's not "back from the dead" and just being used for a (possibly) quick storyline? I hope JG is well. He looks great!

They really need to pick back up the momentum they had and push the Hayley story full-throttle. As everyone has said, it has dragged on for too long. I want Hayley caught BUT I want her to stick around. Just as they pivoted to the "Kill Bill" story, I hope they pivot with her again. Maybe she should lose all her access to money and become a waitress with June at Orphey Jeans. She can then have to serve the Duprees until one day a new character walks in and she finds her next mark.

I really wish Kial was on more often. I'm not sure if it is because of GV's availability/commute or if it's the writer's choice, but the current couple of eps here and there aren't doing it for me. I have no reason to invest in his character even though I like Kial so far.

That was totally false.

Made up nonsense on the internet.

Those Facebook pages are known for false info.

SPS/Dana wouldn't be in the situation she's in with the free clinic had she listened to Derek. She is the type of individual that ruins a company culture.

Ashley is a typical only child with Derek's death being all about her and not about his family and friends.

Episode 150/151 was when Hayley was revealed to be a con...and we're at almost Episode 300 with little to no movement since then. Me thinks this was a Guza plotted plot and his replacement isn't sure how to pace it. Problem is that no movement is far worse than too much movement. Either she needs to be caught or Bill needs to be in the hospital with Hayley hightailing it out of town.

So Trashley is the only person we get to see grieve? Not his bestie Jacob, etc?

original release date: Wednesday, May 27, 2026 | writers: Michael Montgomery, Judy Tate | director: Michael V. Pomarico

Thoughts:

  • Disappointment from a parent is truly a punishment in and of itself. And good on Martin for hunkering down on the family breakfasts. Nice to see the Richardson-Smith family really connecting like this.

  • Oh, is Shanice about to tell Ted her decision about their future together? Hoping this goes well!

  • Jan and Mona! I have missed these two gossiping queens and their Orphey Gene's dates.

  • I love that Naomi is bringing a "care package" to Ashley, who looks like she has little-to-no interest in this visit. The poor dear is going through it in her grief.

  • Paper aeroplanes? I always sucked at those but the sentiment is really sweet. I hope it works for Ashley, even if it is temporary.

  • I feel like Jacob is too harsh on Grayson. I understand where he is coming from, but his harshness is a bit... overkill.

  • Oh, yay! Shanice does not want to give Ted up! That makes me so very happy. And speaking of inappropriate times, here comes Dana. Good on you, Ted, for being firm with Dana. It will continue to fall on deaf ears, but at least you did it.

  • Oh, damn. Not the cinnamon roll being a trigger for Mona... reminding her of Randy's so-called inappropriate moment with Lynette that had her clutching her Bible to her belt like a priss.

  • 500 sheets of colour paper?!?! Damn. That brings me back to my childhood of those booklets.

  • Brian?! Brian?! I am going to assume this Brian is Derek's father, which is why this visit is going to be emotional for her.

  • Not Tyrell telling Bradley and Martin to get a room... when it is their home. Haha. But that was a cute moment. I liked that.

  • So Martin is not a gold star gay. Disappointing, but also understandable. But I appreciate how honest Martin is being with Tyrell. It cannot be easy to have this kind of talk with your child, no matter their age.

  • Whew... they wasted no time in removing Lia Whitmore as chief of staff. That was quick.

  • Not Dana trying to take over the press conference and put on the performance of losing Derek when she could not care less about him. He was not your favourite. You hated him. The histronics are ridiculous. And I hope that the press see right through it.

  • Type 2 diabetes? Interesting. Did not expect that to be why she is not into eating her cinnamon buns anymore.

  • So, Derek is going back home to Brian and Melody. That seems very sweet, and I hope it brings the Baldwin family closer and brings them comfort. And I think it is sweet of Brian to give Ashley some tokens of Derek's that he believes will be of meaning to her. So thoughtful.

  • Martin's continued transparency about realising his sexuality and walking into it is so refreshingly beautiful. I know so many have the same experiences.

  • Not Samantha clocking Tyrell's "big goofy smile". Ha. And I am glad Jessica is not going into details, and it is nice seeing them getting along without some underlying snark.

  • Super sweet of Shanice to stop by and check in on Ashley and bring what looks like some of her home cooking. Food from the heart. And what a sweet sentiment to host a memorial for Derek in Fairmont Crest. And at Uptown? Yeah. He loved it there.

  • Oo-wee, Brian is going to give it to Jacob. This is going to be very... interesting to say the least.

  • Oh no... this is the last thing that should be happening. Oh no... Tyrell's worst nightmare coming true. Poor thing.

  • Wow... an ounce of humanity in Dana by offering Grayson a genuine position at the clinic? Is it going to be Derek's former position, possibly?

Notes:

  • Montgomery and Tate did outstanding with today's scriptwork. Again, the former's history as continuity producer always shines in how he runs and flows the scenes. And it showed today in scenes remembering Derek and the character's history throughout the serial.

  • I have said it before and I will say it again: the lighting on this soap is unlike any other. The way they produce the morning light is just outstanding. Beyond outstanding, and it feels real. The way it is always sunkissed is brilliant.

  • Jen Jacob (Ashley) continues to shine in her work in this current storyline, regarding Derek's death and Ashley's ongoing grief. She is embodying the emotions so well. I feel her grief and it makes me want to just comfort her.

  • I appreciate the continued talks of sex on this soap. They do not shy away from the taboos of it all, especially when it does come to virginity and intimacy with a romantic partner.
