Soap stars in worse circumstances with ABC or the other networks have come back to their show before (maybe the worst at ABC was Michael Nader, but he doesn't quite count since he only came back to AMC 2.0 on Hulu though I'm very glad he did). Roscoe Born was blackballed for awhile for walking out on AMC. Then of course we have Missy Reeves v. Ken Corday.

I can maybe see Ingo and ABC mending fences years from now, but I'd just as soon recast given how toxic he's become and I don't think they'd get much pushback on it. They're just trying to avoid giving Ingo more cause. IIRC the Kari Wuhrer situation had them gunshy for a long time too.

Give us Jerry back. 🤣

Hate Jerry! No thanks. He was the villain that lasted so, so long. Someone is threatened and might die? Tied to Jerry of course. Who was basically a lovable scoundrel in 1998

Yeah, they ruined Jerry quickly despite an excellent recast. There was no way to easily dig him out of the hole Roche started in (the death of Alan Quartermaine), and they really, really failed to even try because Guza was still hellbent on 'his' hardcore original version of Jerry after being pissed at Riche's more charming and cuddly iteration in the '90s (Julian Stone).

I could not understand the obsession with Jerry. He was like Sidwell before Sidwell down to the accent.

I hope ABC locks out Ingo forever. He's a POS right wing freak and a troublemaker.

I don't think there is any danger of Ingo being back on GH or any show unless he moves to God's Network and does some movies lol. I would be shocked if we ever saw Jax again even with a recast.

SR was great. I am not sure why he needed to be Jerry. If Guza was hell bent on tying him to Jax he could have easily been a long lost Jax brother or something. Julian Stone's Jerry didn't set the world on fire or anything so a recast was fine in theory. I would never have taken Jerry in such a diabolical direction if you wanted to, say, pair him with Alexis lol.

I didn't know Riche and Guza had a difference of opinion of Jerry back then. I do recall Julian Stone's Jerry not jiving exactly with the details Jax gave in the past about him. Jax made him seem a lot more cunning and ruthless but he was a bit of a hapless dope when he turned up.

I think Guza loved, loved, loved Jax/Brenda. That was his pairing idea. Carly and Jax with LW were a happy surprise, but they did tease it in the TB Carly days. I never thought the show had much use for Jax post-Brenda, but he was popular enough to keep on. If Ingo wasn't such a dipshit we'd be talking about how poorly Jax was used through the years. He always was a good utility player and the only character that was seriously right about Sonny because he lived through it.

I agree, especially about Jax/Brenda. When she came back in 2002 for me they wanted the audience to think it could be Sonny/Brenda again, but had no interest in actually doing it. They clearly wanted Brenda/Jason and Jax as a foil again. When I found out after the fact that Sam’s baby story was supposed to be the next part of Brenda’s had she stayed, I thought my instincts were right. It was all Sonny/Carly back then, and I never enjoyed them as a pairing, which lead to several viewing breaks during Guza/JFP.

I don't think Dingo realises that Steve got rehired because he kept his mouth shut. He didn't sh*t-talk his former employer, and he understood the consequence of his decision, etc.

I think his stance on vaccines was incredibly stupid, selfish, and not science based at all. But this was the guy who hawked Monavie to fans, so I wasn’t surprised. But the one thing he did that Ingo did not is he carefully walked the line about it being his personal choice, and accepted the consequences. Ingo wanted to make it everyone’s choice and not have any consequences at ABC.

I never thought Guza got Sonny/Brenda the way Labine did. He hardly wrote for them as a couple. Most of it was triangle based plots through his runs. Guza prefers his own creations and that was Jax/Brenda and Sonny/Carly. The problem is that I don't think Guza knew what to do with Jax without Brenda while he obviously had more affection for Sonny, Carly, Jason, Brenda and later Dante. That's why it's not surprising Guza would shoot his shot with Jason/Brenda and even Dante/Brenda. If Vanessa had stayed in 2002, I do wonder how that baby story would have turned out. I doubt the show would kill a Brenda baby off. I ponder if they would have moved back to Sonny/Brenda or Jax/Brenda. Jason/Brenda don't feel like endgame to me, but it could have been for Guza. I assume there would have been some Jason/Brenda/Jax/Carly/Sonny partner swapping that would dominate the show for years and years lol.

I agree. When it came out that Steve wasn't getting vaxxed my mind immediately went to his juice shilling pyramid scheme lol. That being said, Steve made one statement, left, took a job at Days, didn't burn any major bridges, and waited it out.

Ingo decided to make this his entire personality and cause. He'd probably be back too if he shut up. I obviously don't know either man, but it seems like Ingo's shift to MAGA/Anti-Vax nut happened quickly. From all accounts he was well liked for years on GH and seem to be a decent guy until he went right wing.

With the Joss/Carly/Jax ongoing discussion especially about a return or a recast…

How about recast with William deVry? Loved him as Julian Jerome but I think he’d be perfect for Jax if needing the character to return. Thoughts?

I doubt even the Jesus Network wants him. He seems happy focusing on his kids' swimming careers.

Trust me, I think anyone who tried using religion in the way both Burton and Rademacher did is a moron. I don't think being anti-vax is acceptable at all. But yes, he did walk the line very carefully. He wasn't dumb in blaming ABC for violating his rights or making derogatory statements against cast members of the soap he was leaving. He made it known he knew his choice could have resulted in the result he got, and he accepted that publicly. Now, whether privately he said otherwise, we don't know. But he knew not to bite the hand(s) that fed him.

Rademacher was in hot water even more over the vaccine mandate when he was beyond homophobic and transphobic, especially regarding Cassandra James (Terry), and then tried to cover it up by saying he allowed his sons to wear dresses at Disneyland, as if that excused his poor behaviour. And the fact Disney ABC did not fire him for that was unacceptable, especially given the stance the network took regarding Roseanne Barr's racist rant on Twitter at the time, as well. Additionally, his support for the terrorist attacks on January 6th revealed everything we needed to know about him.

No. Absolutely not. William deVry must never appear on any soap ever again.

I have a different perspective; I always pictured him as Peter Blake on Days of Our Lives. Plus, we do not need former actors returning to this soap. Let's leave that in the past!

I seem to recall an episode where Jason, Spinelli and I think Sam gave that MonaVie [!@#$%^&*] to someone who was unconscious or whatever. At the time, as I watching that, I thought ABC was taking an enormous risk by aiding and abetting what was clearly a Ponzi scheme on Burton's part, lol.

Ingo is just a puzzling man to me. He's a weirdo that I don't even think is a citizen and was not claiming religion when he had kids out of wedlock and living with his now wife for years. Maybe he's reborn or something. I still like Jax, but I will never understand his actions.

And hilariously, Ingo was the one that publicly called out the Monavie bullsh*t on GH.

Also, no judgement @Rocket Man, but I probably couldn't think of a worst recast for Jax. WDV is not a thing no matter how much GH tried to sell us on him. Mesure or the guy that played Wagger would have been better.
