The primetime medical drama “Brilliant Minds” is likely to be canceled after just two seasons, according to Deadline‘s NBC Renewal Status Report, published on Monday.

The outlet says the likely reasons leaning toward a cancellation include the show being pulled from the schedule post-Olympics, its ranking as the network’s lowest-rated drama overall, behind “The Hunting Party,” and ratings that fell by double digits year-over-year, despite retaining the same time slot.

Though six episodes remain to air from the show’s current second season, the series, which was scheduled for Monday nights at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT, following “The Voice,” is being replaced by two-hour editions of “The Voice,” which now begin at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT, following the already renewed “St. Dennis Medical” and the new comedy “The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins,” starring Tracy Morgan (“Saturday Night Live”), Daniel Radcliffe (“Harry Potter” film series), Erika Alexander (“Living Single”) and Precious Way (“Days of our Lives”), among others.

Inspired by the extraordinary life and work of world-famous author and physician Oliver Sacks, “Brilliant Minds” follows Dr. Oliver Wolf (Zachary Quinto), a revolutionary, larger-than-life neurologist and his team of interns as they explore the last great frontier – the human mind – while grappling with their own relationships and mental health.

“Days of our Lives” star Al Calderon (Javi Hernandez) joined as a series regular for Season 2, playing Nurse Nico Silva, who is described as the “Mayor” of the fictionalized Bronx General Hospital. “One Life to Live” alum Teddy Sears also stars.

“Brilliant Minds” was created by Michael Grassi, who also serves as writer and executive producer. Greg BerlantiSarah SchechterLeigh London RedmanLee Toland KriegerDeMane DavisMelissa AouateHenrik BastinJonathan CavendishAndy Serkis and Shefali Malhoutra also executive produce.
