BTG is starting season 2 firing on all cylinders. My only complaint, where the hell is Greg Vaughan??? The two episodes we saw of Dr. Kial Rollins I really liked. He fit in seamless with the cast and he has great chemistry with Daphnee Duplaix.

I really hope that it turns out Vanessa is playing Joey and this is all part of an FBI sting or something. A boy can hope.

I would have to assume that JL is now on contract which leads me to believe that Joey will be around for quite a while.

Of course he was appearing as much as other contract players when he was recurring, so maybe there was BTS stuff ? Contract status ensures a regular income rather than per appearance.

Perhaps he requested contract status to continue? Anyway the decision was made to demote Ben Gavin and give Jon the contract.

Contract can also be used to secure an actor for the duration of a finite storyline.

I don't think Joey is dying any time soon, but I do think he will go sooner or later. Possibly by 2027. I think it's a matter of time. So his status doesn't bother me, and I find he gives good villain. Much better than in the show's earliest days.

That's true. Y&R did that back in the day. They seem gung ho on Joey/Vanessa and could easily get another year out of the story,

I think they're a toxic, poisonous and sadomasochistic couple but entertaining in their machinations, and I think the show is aware of that and clearly not expecting us to find it to be some earnest, beautiful love story lol. I just think sooner or later he's done and she'll go on.

I actually agree. I expect that he's going to be around for a long while, at least long enough to make some kind of impact on the show that's going to reverberate for many years to come. I see him lasting for at least another year or two depending on how things play out.

The reveal is going to be dragged out so giving Lindstrom a contract was probably a fair option for his time even if Joey is set to end up off the canvas eventually. EON gave Kim Hunter a contract to play the loony Nola Madison for an arc.

I still strongly suspect they'll reveal Ashley is his kid. Which is one way to try to make her interesting. I'm open to seeing if it can work.

Nola Patterson Madison. Loved that murderous woman.

They need to work on those hospital scenes to make them more realistic. I also have problems with the PDA between Madison and Chelsea every time they're shown at the hospital. I don't think that's realistic or cute.

The changes to the characters' names in the credits is ridiculous, period, especially Leslie's name. Why make it all busier?

I've been pretty clear about how I feel about Joey. It is cartoonish and cliche. This show wants to have a big bad mobster while also keeping the actor on the show, and it doesn't work for me.

That Golden Corral Casino set doesn't scream power or money, and I HATE that everything he does USES and ABUSES POC in general and Black people in particular. It's maddening.

And yeah, I know that many viewers think Vanessa will take him down and has a plan. The problem is she's not written that way and LB is not playing her that way. She comes off as in love with this lowlife hood who controls all the Black people in town. Will it be another year before we get the "Surprise! It was all Vanessa's plan!" ??? I don't want it.

-- That cleavage today on Vanessa did not work.

-- I understand the goal with Tracey's conversation with Anita, but it made me cringe. Tracey went on and on with the negatives, imploring Anita to face up to how awful everything is. I thought it was a rough way to make the point.

Vanesssa playing Joey is wishful thinking by the audience. There is zero onscreen, in the scripts, or even in any of the performances that even remotely hints that Vanessa isn’t madly obsessed with Joey and never loved Doug. If this is some sort of ruse it will feel completely unearned and a shock just for the sake of a shock. As I’ve mentioned before, if she was playing Joey, why was she at Winterfest sloppy drunk and crying just cause he wouldn’t show up and hold her damn hand.

While the acting has been good when I allow myself to watch, the breast cancer story just isn’t for me. My mother is in remission from breast cancer and it was the scariest thing I’ve ever been Through. So while I appreciate what they’re trying to do, hearing the word cancer over and over and over every episode is just a bit much for me and I find myself looking at my phone until other scenes come up.

Emma Samms most recently returned to "General Hospital" as Holly Sutton in 2024 for a short-term arc. She was on contract. Although credited as recurring, Erika Slezak played Veronica "Ronnie" Bard on "General Hospital" under a short-term contract, according to her official fan club, which quoted Slezak.

Sure, but that doesn't usually mean the person gets headshots and a slot in the show's opening sequence rotation. Anyone can come and go at any time, though I do find it interesting that it took nearly a whole year for the show to update its opening sequence in any capacity. Additionally, updates to the show's end credits in Season 2, and not a single time toward the back half of Season 1, is also very interesting.
