Thanks. That's where I get confused as until recently I thought they'd basically said he was dead.

I agree they should have had John and Stefano die together. It would have been fitting.

The show goes down a slippery slope with Dr. Rolf bringing every character ever back from the dead, so I guess characters believed there was a slim possibility he could still be alive. At the same time characters would point out Stefano would be a very old man so it's unlikely. Idk, I dislike the tease of it. It was okay the first few years after JM passed to keep it mysterious, but it's been far too long now.

I definitively think that Ari was sidelined because Doug III kind of turned out to be a flop that got written out quickly.

I won't say too much about the actor - because, frankly, most casting choices on DAYS mystify me - but I do believe that how you introduce a character, especially one who has ties to one of your show's main families (even if we've never seen them or have heard about them before) - can really make or break you. To be more blunt: don't show me Doug III for the first time on the lam and right on the heels of his grandfather's death, when you haven't so much as kept me up to date on where Dougie LeClair has been all these years or what he's been up to. That's a surefire way to make me hate the kid from the start.

This! Horrid introduction of "Doug III" , clearly shoehorned in for plot.
If the writers thought it would be a tribute to Bill Hayes' Doug, just no! It did not work.

I get you on that.

Well I myself personally will say about the actor Peyton Meyer that he could not act. I know some posters here found the actor to be physically attractive. But he could not act, and all of his scenes (and his storyline) were cringe to me.

Why did you had mixed feelings about their scenes?

And why he was a dick?

Because in some ways, it felt like he cared more about his relationship with Sarah than his kid.

But his kid is so awful that I didn't mind 😂

Do you think there was any real story need to make people think Stefano might be alive and then declare Stefano dead when Joe Mascolo has been gone for a while now and Stefano was shot to death in Mascolo's final appearances? Did they say in the narrative at the time that Stefano wasn't actually dead?

No need.

But at the same time, I'm kinda glad that they finally wrapped up the mystery surrounding Stefano's death for good. And officially got Hope off the hook.

Catching up on this week's Days. I will from here on out be referring to Alex as the "stuck up little bitch"! I really wonder if the show knows there is a pretty large section of the Days viewing audience rooting for the stalker. Like please take this snooze fest of a couple out!

What if Alex was the stalker or was at least helping them? ;)

With all the time he spends being shocked with the stalkers message board posts while burning Adrienne’s lasagna and lusting after Stephanie’s blandness, all while Papa Steve is in the next room searching the dark web….I cannot even imagine. If the stuck up little bitch was doing that though I might just change my mind 😂 😂 Hell, it would probably be the most exciting thing to happen in years.

Stefano was presumed dead. They never found his body. I never paid a ton of attention to the narrative because I knew JM was gone although I don't think anyone thought he was truly alive. But everyone would say the Phoenix always rises and idiotic Susan was having premonitions that Stefano was alive plus Marlena was having dreams about Stefano so it was still being teased.

Anyhow if the show really wanted to end Stefano for good it would have made more sense for John to die while finally killing Stefano. I am still not a huge fan of how John died, but perhaps the show didn't want to deal with two major deaths at once even though JM has been dead for a long time.

Actually didn’t Andre find Stefano’s remains in the building Hope/Rafe buried his body in? I thought that’s when we had true confirmation he was dead.

I agree completely. He was a total block of wood.

Wait how is Hope off the hook? Who killed him if it wasn’t her shooting him?
