I'd forgotten that kid even existed. That is a great idea. Austin can die offscreen in a horrible auto smelting accident, freeing Carrie up for non-bionic love.

That whole Carrie thing was probably the only thing that could ever interest me in Rafe lol. I gave it a chance but it didn't go anywhere.

If DAYS was able to block-tape the same way GH does certain guests (like Emma Samms) you might be able to spread the wealth around re: Christie visiting over a long stretch of time to give the impression of Carrie having moved back home. But they have enough taping issues as is.

I think Clark's husband is a renowned chef (correct me if I am wrong) and she doesn't necessarily need money or to work.

She seems very open to return in limited capacity.  I don't know how you would work around that even with block taping.  Perhaps bring her son on and have her do guest stints.

It's what I'd do. I'm sure some block taping spread out could cover some of it, particularly if they're primarily using Carrie as a talk-to for her son or slow-rolling some smaller romance.

I'm glad Christie has married well. Reminds me of people like Tina Sloan and I think Noelle Beck and Robert Tyler at LOV, where after a certain point they were only in it for the love of the game on soaps.

At this point, the best way to have Carrie at least visit sometimes would be to introduce Noah.

Have him transfer to Salem U, and Carrie can help him get assimilated for a little while. He could live with Roman and Kate. And, he could also be put in a triangle with Holly/Tate 😂

Smart idea. They mentioned Noah is around 18 now, right? I'm just glad for once they had an off screen child be named and mentioned throughout the years after Carrie & Austin left together in 2012 with her pregnant.

Speaking of pregnancies and talking about Melissa, I do remember when she visited for Bo & Hope's non-wedding of November 1996, Lisa Trusel was about to pop; full on preggo. I want to say they mentioned this was "baby number three" but I could be wrong. One of them turned out to be Nathan I guess.

And yes, add me to the pile of Christie Clarke lovers. I'd love to have her back in any capacity.

Ironically they did the same with Robin and Patrick on GH, who have an offscreen son with the exact same name (and near the same age).

Yeah.

Carrie or Anna mentioned him having his high school graduation when they were back for John.

I have always been surprised Christie left when she did.  Days was basically placing her as the new lead.  But she was a child actor and I can see being done and moving on.

I get the thought of I have worked all these years so peace out, but she much more palatable than Sami or Nicole as leads.  No shade to Ari or Ali, but their characters are kind of disasters.

I also liked Carrie/Rafe lol.

Poor old Nicole is one of those characters like Kate or Chloe where the only thing they haven't done at this point is fúck a space alien. I'm at my limit!

I actually think Nicole/Ari rolled with the punches pretty well (outside BTS matters).  Her writing was chaotic, but she always kept some throughline for the character.  I am not the biggest fan of Eric/Nicole, but Ari could hold her own with Ali Sweeney and still be likeable while switching infants lol.

Nadia would get fired every other year and have to completely remake Chloe every time.  The writing was bipolar at best-and she's not the strongest actress.  Very pretty LOL.  Sometimes she was a heroine and sometimes she was the slutty villain.  The show never really landed on Phillip vs. Brady so now she has a kid with Daniel lol.

As far as Kate, well, only Lauren Koslow and her blue hair streaks could save that.  She was the town mattress for years.  It's nice she settled down with Roman, but you still think she would want more than living upstairs at a family pub.

That is crazy to me that Kate has gone for that lol. Serving the chowder! I do like them together but eeesh.

Nicole I gained a new respect for her in the early 2010s after hating her for years, but since then they've just driven her into the ground. I just feel like she's spent. I could be wrong.

Wait...you don't watch the show every single day?  I can't even talk to you lol.

Kate is mostly a spent character, but her and Roman are cute if you take everything about their past away.  The show never really clicks on subtly like Roman/Marlena/John or Kate/Victor. I don't think Roman has mentioned Kate once being engaged to John ever lol. They just are happy to serve some pub food and talk to the teens.  She went back to Titan to publish Stephanie's book so she isn't working at the pub anymore.

Nicole has never been my favorite, but I really always felt Zucker showed up no matter what.  I don't think she's spent.  I prefer her to Godfrey.

-- The Jack and Jennifer clips were great, especially since we got clips we haven't seen or haven't seen in forever. Here's to DAYS having a budget!

-- And, yeah, Matthew Ashford sure was pretty when he was young.

-- Lots of great comments on the show this week, and I've enjoyed reading them.

-- I do wish DAYS 2025 would capitalize on its streaming status. All we get are different run times. Even without a budget, why can't the show be more "adult"? Even a little? Both content and language could use a mature upgrade. I thought we'd see it with the move to streaming, but it has not happened.

Aw, I my sporadic viewing pre-teen/adolescent self loved Nicole back in the day as the boozy bitchy gold-digging hotmess, with a harrowing back-story. I never bought the baby-rabies version of her character that killed her spark for me, even though Arianne Zucker's self-admitted acting classes prior to her initial return helped immensely in strengthening her talents as a more well-rounded actress. Though I am reminded that one of Dena Higley's better post-it note ideas that I'm sad never really came to fruition was when she first returned and had her sights set on seducing Philip, when JKL was still normal and sexy as hell, though I hated the misplaced Paris Hilton schtick with that stupid dog she carried around. Probably for the best she is in rest mode now.

All this to say, sign me up as another one on wishing Carrie was back in Salem. I'm still pissed we didn't get to see her reunite with Kate on-screen a few months ago.

Speaking of Kate, I wonder if they'll bother giving her an anniversary episode in January. It would be tricky, since all her best/closest relationships are gone, but this show is no stranger to returns. I can definitely see Mary Beth Evans getting one in May.

After whatever went on with the Paul and Andrew wedding, they may be under more pressures than we realize, although I think those who run the show would never have felt comfortable with much more than we get now.

What exactly happened? I thought DAYS was as gay friendly as it gets on daytime these days, though BTG is starting to distinguish itself with frontburner story for two different core LGBT characters.
