Today was a short one. Only 31 minutes.

There also were a lot of odd choices, filler, missed beats and a lot of it seemed like a big joke as well. I think that means we know who's responsible for today, and I'll never understand why they didn't fire his no talent waste of life ass when they fired Ron 🤮🤮🤮

Holly causing a fire in her dorm room was the oddest choice and it reeked of no budget lol I don't see why they couldn't have had it happen during the blackout itself but whatevs. It doesn't seem like there's going to be any aftermath of it and there should be. As for Tate being hungover, I can understand that, especially after everything that happened with Holly and Sophia but I really would've liked to have seen it happen. His scenes with Brady should have gone on much longer too.

I'll always enjoy Kayla going head to head with EJ, even though EJ suspecting that Kayla is Anastasia Sands and clutching his pearls about it was stupid. If they were trying to build up a way for Stephanie to be revealed as the author, it could have been better than this. All three of them deserve better than this actually. Stephanie being caught between Kayla and EJ over whatever's going on at the hospital could be so interesting, especially since she and EJ do have chemistry. Weaving in her relationship with Alex and all his drama with the Kiriakis family, and Jeremy's return could make it a lot better as well.

Johnny and Chanel deserve a lot better than this too.

As for the ending cliffhanger, I hope the reveal means what we've all suspected.

So if the DNA test is to be believed, if Tate isn't Tesoro's father, does that mean Aaron is? I wonder if it's going to come out later that Sophia took advantage of him in some way in order to get pregnant and pass off the baby as Tate's. Wouldn't surprise me at this rate.

Um, Paula Cwikly and Jeanne Marie Ford are responsible for todays episode. They are the headwriters. Ron Carlivati and Jamey Giddens were immediately hired by Michele Val Jean.

I have always suspected Aaron was the father, but I wouldn't put it past Melinda doing something wacky like switching the results, especially since Kayla didn't do them herself.

This is exactly why I'm not taking this at face value. We don't even know if the DNA test results are actually legit; not to mention that there is a long and well documented history of DNA test tampering at the hospital. I want actual proof one way or another before we jump to conclusions.

Aaron comes off as a pretty lousy friend here.

Sure, he was in Canada for most of the pregnancy, but we know Tate told him Sofia was expecting. Aaron even referenced it at graduation. So for him never to mention that he slept with Sofia? That’s a major bro-code violation.

I’m holding off on final judgment until we see how it all plays out, but it’s not looking great.

Also, what exactly was Sofia’s plan with that photo? She didn’t know the evil social worker was at Johnny’s house. Was she just hoping Chanel would stumble across it? At first, I thought she was being strategic, but the more I think about it, the more it feels like pure dumb luck dressed up as clever plotting.

Final irritants of the episode:

  • Was that evil social worker sent from 1962?  Why are adoption workers treated so poorly by soaps?  They're all stuck-up white ladies who should be running a debutante ball, not a government child care agency.
  • Kayla won't run a DNA text without consent, but she will reveal private health information of two adults (Tate and Sofia)? I hope Melinda helps Sofia sue the hospital for so much money, she winds up as the new owner.
  • Why does Stephanie need to remain anonymous, if nobody knows who she is?  The stakes are so low.  What's the worst that would happen if EJ announced Stephanie was an author?  Two people would be surprised, the other 300 million of us would not notice.

I hope it turns out that Aaron is the father, and that Melinda didn't alter the test somehow.

Altering a DNA test is too overdone 😂

Those episodes were the reason why I wondered if maybe Aaron wasn't the father, but now I'm not so sure lol

I co-sign to all the complaints about today's show.

-- That "fire" in Holly's room looked like they spent $2.49 on it.

-- No one cares that Stephanie is Anastasia Sands. What an awful storyline.

-- Johnny and Chanel's home visit by the Evil Home Visitor was maddening, because DAYS has done this way too many times. She pulls out an "anonymous letter" from the baby's mother?

-- Then she asks ridiculous questions that could be handled anywhere, including the office. What's the home visit for? That's right -- we can't see her move around the apartment because it's 6'x10'.

-- That photo on Johnny's phone? Jesus. GMAFB. And Chanel exploding when she saw the picture? GM Another FB.

It all sounds bad. I'm not currently watching. I'm waiting for the anniversary episodes to air before starting to watch again.

They showed a flashback to Sophia overhearing the exact time of Johnny and Chanel's scheduled visit from the social worker, so I presume she sent it at that time so it would pop up during the visit. That's about the only part that DOES make sense.

Convenient that it arrived right as the anonymous letter was being read. And either the photo came from Holly's phone, which means Sophia stole it, or it came from Sophia's phone which would be easy to track. I wasn't clear.

I assume the reason Holly was hospitalized in the morning was so that it'll eventually come out that Sophia set this all up since Holly couldn't have sent the photo, thereby clearing Johnny's name.

Today just seemed very lazy, overall.

Hopefully, things will be better tomorrow.

There's an ironic humor that we all assume it's Aaron because DAYS wouldn't hire another teen character to be Sofia's hookup. 😉

Here's the loose thread I need explained.

If Sofia knew that Tate wasn't the father of her baby.  He wasn't able to get her an abortion in Salem.  Why wouldn't Sofia tell Aaron he was actually the father so she could've had an abortion in Canada (or wherever Aaron was).?  Like, why go through the whole nine months, if she knew Tate wasn't going to be with her? And wasn't pregnancy prevention more of a priority than scoring with Tate?  Thus, the only explanation that I would buy is that Sofia didn't think Aaron was the father, and she'll be surprised by the news.

But, the social worker came early for a surprise inspection?
