Either we see them so infrequently it's absurd or a hundred obstacles are thrown in their way.

And the thing is...this show used to do the latter. And I used to vent about that all the time because it would usually be for a couple that was actually intriguing, that the audience wanted to see together, and the couple in question had natural chemistry that grew organically. And when you have that chemistry and the story writes itself, why would you throw everything AND the kitchen sink in their way when the setup for the couple does that automatically. It made no sense.

These days they do the former. And that is equally as frustrating.

it's a shame they don't see the potential in Emma. I truly do believe her not being Joss is the biggest factor.

I agree. We see Anna more than her. And at least when Emma first returned, I was hoping for a continuous relationship between her and Anna. If they are not going to show us Gio/Emma often, they could show her there. But alas.

Terrible terrible terrible wig.

It really was. But good to see Carly back in scheming mode. I was about to be annoyed that she forgave Brennan too quickly. But as I hoped, she IS about the payback. I'm sat.

I know everyone has said all year that Brennan feels like a placeholder for Carly. That his days are numbered. NOW I feel that.

The second he recruited her daughter to the WSB, there was ZERO chance for them.

Very. I'm enjoying that the storyline is finally moving rather than being reduced to stalling tactics.

It's precisely what @Vee had predicted when the announcement was made that The Real Joey Buchanan would be the new Brennan: that he was just there to run out the character's clock and send him packing (presumably, with a bullet or three in his back).

Yep. Pretty much.

I mean, I get that Chris McKenna probably doesn't want to commit to soaps again full-time, but...yeesh...this is the second time (Y&R being the first) that a soap has snagged him for a role (or in this case, a recast) that amounts to a huge-ass waste of time.

I could see Chris wanting to stay, especially as he's a new father, but the role not ever working out that way. It seems like the main reason he was cast is because the other actor quit so abruptly and Frank trusted him enough to pinch hit in a very rushed timeframe.

Enjoyed the cliffhanger with Veronica and Tracy dealing with Monica's will.

Rory Gibson is so mesmerizing. I can't believe how badly YR wasted his talents..

You can just tell how much DT likes working with Genie. He practically glows when Curtis is in scenes with Laura.

Much like Sprina, they have inadvertently struck gold with Gio/Emma. Both good actors, both decent characters with good ties to the canvas. And once again just sitting there.

I truly do not get Valentini’s favoritism. Joss has nearly always been in story and in relationships. It’s been a decade, and other young women have languished while they keep throwing everything at her. And I don’t hate the actress, or Joss really. But she’s not growing an audience enough to justify all the time devotion. Sprina had actual, organic fans that were vocal and performers that played into it, giving the show free publicity. It’s the same mindset that wasted all that time on Easton and Howarth. Other actors might have made those roles worth it!

She does have some fans, as I know many of them pop up with stan wars with Trina fans, but nowhere near enough for the level of effort made to suppress other women in her age range on the canvas. Even when Brenda took off I don't remember the show actively suppressing other women in her age group, although I may have felt differently at the time (even then I don't think I blamed Brenda - they just didn't really have anyone who clicked outside of Carly [Robin too but Robin was sort of in her own little grouping]).

I would go further and say when Brenda was originally there as a thorn in Karen’s side the show let Vanessa play vulnerability and not just a straight up vamping vixen, which judging by Levinson’s work on GH and background I have seen on what type of character they wanted as a rival she was supposed to be. And pretty soon we got Brenda’s character established and it just made that younger set stronger. They let them both have something to do.
