I love when people make up their own stories about what the show is going to do so they can insult something that hasn’t even happened.

💯💯 Or try to make it some cheap imitation of the already cheap Tyler Perry productions. We love to see it.

BtG has some garbage time here and there, but it's still better than current Y&R.

Agreed. BTG is still by far my fave of the shows. B&B is hard to sit through. As is Y&R, but I at least enjoy a lot of the actors so it's more tolerable.

I love it when people make up their own stories too! They often read better than those of the actual "writers" and often make a lot more sense too, whether it's good or bad, liked or disliked.

Tyler Perry didn't get to where he is, nor did he acquire his very loyal and sizable audience, by being basic. He just didn't.

It’s just become tiring and predictable 8 months in.

It was tired and predictable eight months before the premiere. 😬

Danielle was on a few of the Locher Room interviews, and she said Claire Labine mentored her and that her first assignment was writing the filler scene (i.e. anytime a script needed an extra scene to fill time).. so she would write a friendship scene and/or a family scene.

Claire Labine is one of my favorites and she definitely excelled at scenes like this. Very interesting to hear!

Tyler Perry built his audience off of his plays and movies that drew a church audience who liked the message of overcoming trials. His TV shows are all about over the top drama and shock value. He is basically JER without the supernatural and magic elements. I do give him credit for getting the ball rolling on Black drama series becoming common place though.

I'll be the first one to say I am very proud of Tyler Perry. His achievements are beyond awesome and I hope continues to prosper, but I will never tell the lie that a lot of this product is not basic. Tyler Perry is very smart. He knows his audience doesn't expect much and it totally works for him.

On that note Beyond The Gates writer and production teams needs to stay f'king far away from anything Tyler Perry related.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!

  • Not the con artist child bride already planning her next move... sweetie, Bill is not even dead, yet.
  • Winterfest?! That sounds chilling but also very fabulous and luxurious. Let's bring it on, although it feels a bit too early for my liking.
  • Of course the snot-nosed, spoilt bitch would persist on things. Tomas is continually needing to tell her off about this stuff... he should have chosen Eva instead.
  • I love seeing how Eva and Ted are developing their relationship as daughter and father, respectively.
  • It is nice to see Dana and Jan reconnect as friends. Feels weird with Mona being missing, but I understand her absence.
  • Laura bringing up Dana in regard to Anita's intent is so smart. We love how aware she is.
  • What a fantastic idea Dani had to auction off a lunch with the Articulettes. Let's just hope that Dana does not bid on it. That would be an absolute mess.
  • Wow. I really like seeing this more authentic, vulnerable side of Dana. I hope it is true and not an act to gain sympathy from Jan.
  • Aw, what a sweet sentiment from Ted to Eva. You can tell it means the world to her to be hearing these things.
  • Damn. Madison's mother really has her wound up, and it is also giving some kind of cult situation. Whew-wee. I can only imagine what could possibly happen if/when Willow shows up in Fairmont Crest.
  • Not the deed to the Saint Barts home going into the con artist child bride's fake-ass name. Not a good idea, Bill.
  • I think it is awesome that Madison has approached Nicole and done so rightly in Nicole's office and not the main nurse's hub.
  • Uh-oh. Tomas just dropped the bomb about who Izaiah actually is.
  • The con artist child bride is pulling a full bitch fit in Orphey Gene's, and she clearly does not know who Joey is or how he operates.

Notes:

  • Normally, I am a fan of Zimmerman's breakdowns, but today, her work was giving the writer and writer2. I am hoping it is just a one-off and not something consistent moving forward.
  • Jeresa Featherstone made the right choice in putting Tamara Tunie (Anita) in tomato red. It works so well against her skin tone. Positively beautiful.
  • The little café spot that they keep using is cute. I really like it. And it feels quite casual, which is always appreciated.

And yet, somehow it all worked for him, and still does.
