BRAVO! This show didn't forget we heard LUKE being mentioned very early on and didn't change a thing. More male characters have been needed so this is a win.

I'm hoping Jacob has a 3rd brother ( a brother that's a cop, but dirty/unethical like his father) because it would be nice to have a family without daughters on this show.

• How sweet that Vernon and Anita had Bradley and Martin over for dinner. Ravioli is yummy, but Lobster ravioli? Mess me on that one. Hate seafood. And Rowena sounds like a hoot (hope we meet her in season two).
• No offence, but Elon you are not someone Jacob should be looking to for learning about cop things. Nor is Marcel. He is doing just fine!
• Not Shanice eavesdropping and Nicole knowing that she is. Oops. But Italian sounds delicious (and I say this as an Italian).
• Anita dishing out that gospel truth. I love it.
• Shanice, shut your trap. You have no skin in this, nosy bitch.
• Not spoilt bitch having a crush on Eva's future man. Hypocrite.
• So, Izaiah is the outcast of the Hawthorne family, I assume. Elon, you need to sit your ass down!
• I can sense where Ted is coming from; Carlton has broken the so-called 'bro code' I hear about. But at the same time, Ted, Nicole is no longer your wife.
• Not those beginning-of-the-year school fire drills. I hated those.
• Not Samantha being inspired by the spoilt bitch's sex talk. Sweetie, do not take the hint from her. PLEASE!... and not the attempt to immediately backpedal on the discussion.
• Not Ted threatening violence on Carlton. That is not cute behaviour.
• And it looks like Nicole is over the Carlton and Ted B.S. already. Would not be surprised if that date were off... permanently.
• SAMANTHA RICHARDSON SMITH is RIGHT! Girl..... you dumb as rocks!

• UGH! Not a breakdown by writer². We were doing so well. Time to suffer.

• Ugh. Right as I complimented him, David Lami Friebe (Izaiah) was bobbing and weaving worse than ever before. Lord, give me the strength to not vomit from motion sickness at this point.
• Ugh. Not the forced political dialogue. I understand the importance of it, but it is absolutely not for me.

Rowena was mentioned about 6 times in the opening scene. Surely we're getting a Rowena, right?

Like there’s literally no justification on either of their parts. Ted cheated what 30 years ago? And was completely obsessed and devoted to Nicole ever since.

I like daddy Elon for aesthetic reasons, but his lying and hypocrisy is amazing.  Again, he was trying to make Jacob feel guilty about accusing him of being on the take when he knows it's true. And coming down on Izaiah for perceived irresponsibility? Come on now pops.

On another note, how thoughtful of the writers to give all four Hawthorne men biblical names. I suppose the next addition might be Elon's twin brother "Elijah?" 😃

After seeing a text from Yolanda, I 100% think we'll see her in the future, just as Isaiah and Eva are happy, perhaps.

Slower episode today, but nice family scenes. 

Turns out Nathan is not a bad guy after all. He is giving Samantha an out. 

I'm not going harp on the sets thing, but the reality is Samantha would have taken him to her room and not be open out on the couch. That's just dumb.
