I'm sure there's a lot you can say about Steve Burton BTS (most of the rumours probably have a degree of truth to them) but I think he's always been genuine in his love and respect for the vets on the show. I've never seen or heard him be anything but kind and loving about Leslie (him speaking at her funeral I think speaks to their relationship offscreen). He's always spoken highly of Jane and Stuart, as noted up thread. And I remember hearing clips of his interviews with people like Finola, Genie, Nancy, Jackie Zeman, Kin Shriner, and Jon Lindstrom where he was nothing but complimentary, warm, and had a lot of praise for them, along with the other older actors from back in the day.

I think he's to blame for a lot of bad Jason decisions over the years, but it's not his fault JFP clearly had no use for anyone older than Maurice Benard.

When soap mags were still real, and Stuart Damon was fired, I remember how publicly pissed Kimberly McCullough was, and she spoke out. I always thought she was a real one for that.

"It's completely irresponsible and cruel and uncalled for. That's on the record." I'll never forget that. She had grown up basically at Stuart's knee since she was six or seven, too.

What I also never forgot is that at the time IIRC Steve gave a quote that basically amounted to 'sh!t happens.' Which infuriated me back then. But these days I think he was just trying to go along to get along at the network, because he has been very vocal and fulsome with praise for Stuart in recent years on his podcast and in interviews, crediting him as a key mentor and praising him heavily when he passed away. So I can let a lot go, as Steve has been equally vocal about Leslie ever since he and Bradford got in their podcast thing.

I never got over Alan being killed. I was pleased when Ron and Frank had allegedly intended to bring him back when they thought the show was going off the air in 2012 (I think the captured Robin was supposed to find him alive in the same facility she was being held in... along with Trevor St. John from OLTL), but it didn't get cancelled and Stuart's health was not great.

I also remember around that time Geary talked about how they were on the set and someone else noted they were not valued anymore. IIRC it was Leslie. And Tony said none of them were young and important anymore to TPTB. I remember at the time reading that and thinking if Tony Geary feels this way then none of the vets are safe.

I think Steve bought into his own hype and Kimberly never did.

I respect Geary for feeling one type of way but Luke was treated a lot differently than the others.

You could argue no actor on GH (maybe on daytime) was given as kind of treatment as Geary.

Yeah the entire time I was watching GH, the Quartermaines were getting killed off and Luke was constantly on and the show kept finding ridiculous ways to cover for Tony’s vacations. The other vets were either treated like trash, killed off, or barely featured. I still hate that Luke is considered some great love for Tracy.

I agree, Geary got what he wanted in order to keep playing Luke. But I also think this was self aware too- he knew if he wasn’t Luke Spencer, which was still a big enough deal to ABC and the genre, he knew he would be shuffled off too. He allegedly used some pull to save Jackie Zeman’s job when JFP wanted to get rid of her earlier than she did.

One of the things I love about Kimberly McCullough was that she was very committed to making things work. She and Jason worked hard to develop Patrick/Robin. She clearly loved the show and her co-workers. But she was not in awe or beholden to the business side and wasn’t afraid to speak her mind. Much like Geary, and Tristan, but with a little more tact.

As much as I love flashbacks, just once I wish they would add an actual scene too, so you could see the whole context, not just a clipped couple of lines. Modern fans should get to see the scene with her and Alan when she confronts him post surgery, and asks him if he still wants to go to bed with her. When I think of Monica, I think of many things from the breast cancer story. I also think about Leslie Webber slapping her over Rick!

Thanks for pulling her quote. She was right in every way. We loved Alan. But they also all loved Stuart, he was described as a pro and a joy to work with. Even when he got cuddly with the arrival of Emily, his Alan still had that pulsating anger there, mostly used against AJ and later, Sonny by then. I also never got over it. I can enjoy the show but to me, Alan was the Maureen Bauer of GH. It was a piece that once removed just left the show unbalanced and lacking something that never was captured fully again.

I loved the big soapy look Lucas threw at Anna and Dante when he realized the man on the gurney was Nathan (as others have said, you wouldn't even really know who he was).

Van Hansis still isn't who I would have chosen as Lucas, but I do enjoy how he throws himself into the melodrama. Luke was such a dour character most of the time, he didn't really have as many of those moments.

The character on the gurney at the end should have been AJ or Emily..

I can't believe Britt told Lulu out loud that she has a better connection with Rocco than Lulu does.  Horrible human being.

Why is there such a musical chair homing situation with Outback?  Like I love the dog, but why is this a story?

Everything else about the show was very nice.  I liked Lucy/Tracy and Michael talking to Sonny/Carly.

The Nathan stuff is meh, but it's at least a tiny bit interesting.

Whether or not Britt is doing this to push Rocco away for his own good out of fear of her 'mystery' boss, it's a disgusting look. The show had already tried to excuse and whitewash Britt's actions with Dante and Lulu weeks before her onscreen resurrection. By the time they get around to the reveal unpacking Britt's latest ugly behavior no one is going to care. I've said it before, this crap Frank, CVE, etc. are pulling (because I do not believe Liz Korte gives a damn about Britt lol) is what will sink KT this time around.
