Devious Maids was decent, but it seemed more like a Desperate Housewives in maid uniforms then anything different.

I agree on both assessments. Though they did recover creatively and put on an overall consistently strong show from Season 3 to the end, they really took the wind out of their own sail with that disastrous season 2.

I loved Desperate Housewives, but what I don't love is how so many scripted shows since have adopted that cheeky, wink-wink nudge-nudge to the audience, where's it's half drama / half comedy.

Case in point: DAYS' Possession 1.0 took themselves seriously. Possession 2.0 was a cheap Ron version of a Desperate Housewives clown show.

After Tr*mp was taken out of the dinner and brought back to the White House, he gave his own press conference. And of course he is trying to use this situation to justify building his ballroom bunker.

I can believe him as Buzz by that stage in his career. He'd aged noticeably and lost a lot of his vulnerability. I could see him embracing the snappier con artist persona Buzz had early on. I don't think they could have remade him into a mainstay the way they did with Justin as he wouldn't have stayed long. It would have been a bit strange seeing him as a father to Frank and Harley though.

Wash. D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser,
Wash D.C. Metropolitan Police interim chief Jeff Carroll,
ADIC of Wash. D.C. field office of FBI, Steven Jensen,
Director of the Secret Service Sean Curran,
and federal prosecutor Jeanine Pirro (the former TV judge) who was still wearing her fancy dress from being a guest at the event.
The most useful statements were from police chief Carroll, and Secret Service director Curran. The FBI guy was mostly hype.

Summary:
The suspect was armed with a shotgun, handgun and multiple knives.
Suspect was a guest at the hotel!
Some of the common area of the hotel wasn't screened. The checkpoint was set up within the hotel at some point before the entrance to the ballroom (The dinner was in the ballroom).
Suspect simply walked into the hallway or lobby with his weapons, and then charged the security checkpoint, and shot a Secret Service agent with a shotgun. Agents then discharged their weapons and pursued the suspect, exchanging gunfire and later tackling and handcuffing him.
Re: the Secret Service agent who was shot: He was hit in his bullet-proof vest but taken to the hospital.
The suspect was * not * shot but was transported to a local hospital "for evaluation".
They are searching the suspect's hotel room.
The suspect is believed to a lone gunman and they don't think there's a threat to the public.
Pirro says that the suspect will be arraigned on Monday in federal district court.

Still scratching my head over the abrupt and bizarre Ivy exit: 'I've overstayed my welcome' and then leaving the office with a fake plant in a box, but re-iterating that she'll return. What?
I understand why AB is being sent off-canvas, but just have Ivy to tell Bridge, 'you know, I'm going to Oz for a bit to let things cool down.' Oh, and, who wasn't laughing at Bridge passing judgment on Ivy's meddling.
Let's hope when AB returns, The Vine continues to stir things up - perhaps with RJ in ways that are not proper, not proper at all.

Did viewers know about Alexandra when the Spaulding family was introduced in 1977, or was she a later creation?
