Finally just watched Wed-Fri.

I loved every part of the "family reunion" with June. I don't think it was rushed at all and I'm curious to see if the kids will let her into their lives.

Now I'm really looking forward to Anita vs Dana. This should be good.

I'm starting my rewatch for the week and while Anita had mentioned the trust to Vernon when she revealed the truth about Barbara to him, in the talk Anita is having with Nicole, she's giving specifics on the trust.

The money was set up to what Barbara would have earned if she had continued on with the Articulates as well as investments that had been made throughout the years (and Anita said invested wisely). Barbara's family is listed as the benefactors and Anita's name is hidden on it. And as Anita also mentioned the reunion concert money went into it as well.

It seems like Anita is still actively involved in that trust so I can see why SilkPress will be going directly to her this coming week...outside of the obvious.

Leslie is overplaying her hand going to Anita so soon. Id wait till I get access to he account and have collected some of the deposits bc if I was Anita, the first thing Id do once learning she is the recipient, is dissolving it

With that said, I dont think Leslie will be going to her specifically about the trust. While she can deduce that Anita is the one that set it up, it is anonymous and could have come from anywhere. I think Leslie is self centered and wants to make her presence known in that she isnt as insignificant road bump as Anita dismissed her as being months ago. She may even blame her for the suicide and throw that in Anita's face.  Either way its gonna be good and we will feast

I know there is speculation hat she will use this to get a house behind the gates but if Vanessa is the one to sell her a house, as Nicole's BFF, she aint ish. Really security should have her banned

Oh, I for sure think SilkPress will go over there to make her presence known which is why I said the obvious. But I do wonder if there is something in the paperwork that she might need Anita for just off the dialogue on Monday about the benefiency. When my father passed, there was drama over that very thing (the wording). Allegedly. Even though my father made it very clear about some things. And the state also made it clear on some things. Some family members felt differently. But I disgress. Short version, there was paperwork specifically with MY name on it. And those members had no choice but to back down.

I expect it's an Irrevocable Trust, which means Anita can't terminate it or change the beneficiary.  🤣

When Anita established the trust, she likely specified the distributions would be made to the "next of kin of Barbara Mitchell", with the assumption that "next of kin" would be a sister, brother, parent, aunt, cousin, or whatever.  But obviously the "next of kin" is Leslie.

As for how Leslie was located, I didn't bat an eye.  I know that on soaps, people are always having Top Secret Pregnancies.  But in the real world, folks are apt to notice when a girl looks pregnant. Barbara's mama probably told the trustee, "I'll be glad to take the money, but I believe Barbara's got a baby somewhere.  She looked mighty pregnant, but when it was time for the baby to be born, Peaches disappeared and I ain't ever seen a baby."  Wouldn't take much work to track down Miss Peaches and then ask her to track down Leslie.

Poor TED --- he'll never hear the end of this!!!

I think it will be convoluted and interesting drama, and I'm sure Ms. Tunie will be great.

But ...  not a good storyline for me --  I won't be feasting.  The more I think about this, the more I absolutely hate the idea of Leslie getting more power and influence.

It's a big deal for me -- I don't want villains to profit.  I just don't.  I feel there's enough horrid things in the world, that I want to escape to drama where things get intense but the villains ultimately pay.   I *need* to see the heroes win sometimes.

I've posted this before, and will say it again -- I don't want villains hanging out with the heroes.  I feel it dilutes everything.  Yes Trisha Mann-Grant is a great actress, but I just don't want to see Leslie anymore on my screen.  I'd rather the actress got a job in the movies, she'd do great.   Send Leslie to jail, don't give her money.

Seriously if this starts being a Leslie-dominated show, I'll just stop watching.  Life is too short for me to spend my time feeling frustrated.

This is a soap opera. Antagonists are always gonna be there. There are far worse than Leslie on daytime.

When the antagonists start dominating, I stop watching.  I know it's an unpopular opinion, but it's my opinion. That's how I feel.   I watch a lot of crime dramas, but I like it when the bad guys lose.  It's the thrill of solving clues and catching them and then sending them away to jail.  I don't mind criminals, I just want them to lose.

Who’s a hero in this story? Bc the hypocritical and cutthroat Anita isn’t.

I don't think the antagonists are dominating the show. Far from it.

So who has been receiving the trust money up until now?

As for Leslie, having her as an attempted murderer is a step too far. But that decision was made, probably in keeping with today's soaps letting this sort of stuff go unpunished.

I don't like it either. It's just lazy writing.

With all due respect, perhaps you should think about watching Hallmark Channel movies since you'll be guaranteed to have the heroes win and the villains pay.  Soap operas haven't been about the villains getting their just dessert since the 90s, unless they become completely unhinged... and she isn't quite there yet.

And quite frankly, this soap doesn't really have any heroes.....Vernon and Anita aren't heroes to me.   I view them and the rest of the Duprees as the antagonists/villains.
