Maybe it could be a new punishment? Force people who behave badly to sit through a weeks worth of B&B episodes.   🤔   Then again, I think that would classify more as torture than punishment.....

That is how I imagine hell. You wake up to find yourself alone in a room with only one TV that has non-stop Bold 24/7 (episodes starting from around 2021 - that's when sh-t REALLY hit the fan in my opinion) and there is no way to turn it off. In the pauses between episodes... you hear snippets from Brad Bell interviews in which he says that these are his best seasons. You cry and you scream and beg someone to stop this misery and open the door, but the only thing you hear is Brooke repeating "destiny" and Sheila laughing in the distance.

You find yourself in Kafkaesque nightmare you can't escape.

after 13 years away from soaps, i started watching btg. never watched b&b, but a couple of months ago, i turned the television on early and was so mesmerized (and not in good way:) by what i saw i was compelled to watch the next two episodes.

recap has always been a part of soaps, but covering the same material at least six times in the same 30-minute episode?! i know that the cbs audience has always skewed old, but not everyone watching has a short-term memory deficit.

How incredibly random. 20 episodes a month, starting TODAY, and with the May 2, 1995 episode. Someone with a VPN is about to go off.

At least they get to watch Lorraine Broderick’s early 1995-96 run, which was probably the last really good run for the show.

yeah, it's very easy to access with a VPN, but the pricing system is bizarre.  To watch 20 episodes a month would cost more than a Peacock subscription, and it is PPV, so you're only "renting" the 43-minute video.  And then, next month it is gone from your library.

But, the workaround is fairly simple.  With a VPN, (Windows 11, and most browsers have VPN options, it is very simple) you can watch the clips for free, and they've clipped the best part of every episode.  For example, do I want to watch a whole 43 minutes, or do I just want to see Haley confronting her mother? and, Haley meeting Mateo? and, Haley leaving Alec at the altar?  For me, that's enough of a hit to satisfy my nostalgia itch.

I hope someone figures out how to save the episodes and upload them somewhere.

What country is this accessible to if not the U.S? Can Canadians watch or do we need a VPN too?

I am shocked and so very very happy to hear this!  Wow!

Now I just gotta figure out how to access it... I'm in my 40s now, I need a teenager to help me figure out the VPN stuff :P

Such amazing moments!  Man, did I love to hate Alec McIntyre and Arlene LOL.

My question is - why do they think international audiences would be interested in this? I mean it’s great - and I’m international - but I’m a niche in a niche…

I'm guessing that Disney have put together this package for sale to digital platforms. It's obvious since they started talking about those Lifetime Movies that they're interested in doing something with the brand, they just don't know what yet. Plus, this is a fairly low-effort and low-cost way to test out potential models for future potential streaming soaps. Even if it doesn't do blockbuster numbers for BEONDTV, it will tell them a lot about the viewing habits about those that do.

Agreed.

I find this, the Lifetime thing and the new GH timeslot reversion on ABC all curious.

I mean... if you count how much it will cost to watch a year of the show... I doubt many people will be willing to give hundreds of euros for it. (Especially when you don't keep the episodes) It's too niche, as @Aback said. Some will definitely pay, but the more adequate scenario would have been to put 40-60 episodes every month and just make people pay like any other subscription. Maybe a cheap subscription without AMC and a more expensive one for the AMC catalogue in it. I would be willing to pay for something like that. But having to constantly fuel money into some platform and pay for each episode... when I don't even have the time to watch it for much long... makes it hard. Not everyone will be able to watch at the same time they are uploading. Some will want to binge and others take their time with it. Why are they going against the basic rules of modern viewing-streaming habits is beyond me. Still I'm excited... and I'll try the platform in the coming days. I want to check-out the quality.
