This explains why Anita and Dani don't tend to gel with one another... because of them suffer from main character syndrome.  I still remember the looks Anita gave when she saw Vernon coddling Dani instead of giving her his full attention.

If MVJ is truly serious about doing her own version of the Supreme mess... then she needs to really work to develop the other two women since OG Mary and Florence were talented individuals that were overshadowed because their bestie Diana Ross had the more mainstream look/voice (and willing to sleep with Berry Gordy).

Dani doesn't come off like a big personality to me. It feels so forced and put on. I like her best in her humble scenes with Nicole. I think it's easy to dismiss them as bitter and miserable, but listen to them. Sharon and Tracy don't just want to be in the background anymore; they want to be involved in the creative process. Anita has it all, and you can't be selfless for one night? I don't like that. She only cares about herself and her family.

Sure, Sharon and Tracy may need this reunion, but let's not forget Anita called them! So her walking away didn't land on the right side for me. It was still her calling the shots and showing them who's boss!

No wonder these two bore me lol

Completely agree. We’ve seen glimpses of it (mostly Anita being imperious and Vernon rushing in to be the coddling Daddy), but they should have had a few real, nasty dust-ups by now, given Dani’s reckless behavior over recent months.

To be honest, after the big reveal in May, the Leslie/Ted/Nicole story has stalled and we've had so many repetitive scenes with all characters involved with Jacob/Kat being the worse offense. Im ready for that to be resolved bc there's been no movement. I dont care what happened to Laura. Lets move on

Regarding Dani and Anita. I said the same months ago, but the rate we're going, I won't care by the time we get there! Anita is not a good character to me. I can only tolerate her around her family. I don't find anything about her endearing.

How MVJ writes/presents the Duprees is exhibit A on how working for years under Brad Bell's B & B can dilute the talent of a good writer since her structure of the Duprees as being in the center without a strong 2nd family is quite like B & B's continual reliance on the Forresters without a strong 2nd family that isn't ultra tied to the Forresters.

Difference though is that B & B is a half hour show so that structure can sort of work on that show.. but BTG is an hour show so there should be a 2nd family that isn't related to the Duprees.  Also... The Duprees are as delulu as the Forresters.

It's tiiiiiiiiiiiiiime!!!

That's true. I would say the opportunity has always been there for Jacob's family to become the rival family. Now will they go there? I don't know. This week of episodes felt so GH-lite, and I don't think that's the move for this show. Why else have a family this size and not dive deep into some family drama and childhood scars? 

The stories are not bad, but it's the rotation and beats being played that upset me. 

Jacob and Kat...the gift that keeps giving. lol. Though it's weird to see Kat here be so likeable versus yesterday when she was...not. 

 

It's funny hearing Samantha talk about stranger danger when her brother just did what he did with Kenny.

 

This is moving kinda slow for me.

I am enjoying Chelsea and Madison's story and their relationship, but at the same time, I feel like they're moving too fast with this storyline. Especially now with Alison being a part of it. Sort of like with Leslie; once the climax takes place, what happens next?

And sorry y'all, I couldn't help but be on Tracy and Sharon's side a little bit today 😂😂
