Collectively agreed it had to be due to the Juneteenth holiday. No other reason makes sense since nothing outstanding was expected to happen on the day. Plus, Friday was its second-best day of the week, so maybe whoever didn't usually tune in liked what they saw?

That's immediately what I noticed too, along with BTG going from .25 to .16, Wed to Thurs, which is opposite. Did the BTG audience go outside the house on Thurs while the GH audience stayed in? I'd be curious to see the streaming results for those two days on Paramount and Hulu.

You know that there are problems with BTG when Y&R has more than double their audience. I watch BTG. It’s on in the background but nothing draws me in. The production is terrible. They seem to fade to black in the middle of words. Where are the cliffhangers? The show needs a revamp, already. It’s not catching on.

BTG loses demos from its lead-in. That’s never good. And CBS is already showing a week of repeats next week, which is unheard of. (Save for covid). Hopefully they are retooling the show.

I think most of us know that the ratings of a 50+ year old soap do not have an apples-to-apples comparison with a brand new soap. Y&R ratings have nothing to do with problems BTG has.

Do you realize how many problems Y&R has? Maybe you should ask why people continue to watch that dreck.

This week of repeats is not about retooling -- unless you know that production has shut down for a week so this retooling can take place.

Gates tapes about 3 months ahead, so there's no reason to run a week of repeats to "retool."

Beyond the predominantly black cast, BTG seems to share a lot more in common with Generations than I initially thought. Both start off with some promise, but the execution left a lot to be desired and there was very little heat to any of the stories that should be more exciting than they actually are.

Generations didn’t start to ignite into something interesting until Jorn Winther joined as Senior Executive Producer and brought some recasts and forced Sally Sussman Morina to step her writing up (for her standards at least).  By the time things truly started to gel, NBC was ready to cancel it. I hope the same doesn’t happen to BTG,  but it’s clear they need someone with a stronger vision to steward the overall production and story execution into a better place like Winther did for Generations.

I realize BTG had only been on the air for like 5 months, so I’m really hoping they’ve started to retool some things as they gear up for the second half of the year.

I do wonder if something has been said behind the scenes which is why MVJ responded to some of the negativity on social media (and I haven't even seen that much negativity).

I know some of the names attached (like Carlivati, Jamey Giddens, Julie Hanan Carruthers) didn't exactly suggest a needed new approach for the genre.

Wow, they're doing a whole week of repeats? Its return ratings is a catch-22 for fans of the show. If they're back to its average, CBS has the green light to do this on the regular. I guess the ideal situation for BTG's fans would be bad ratings the week back, then back to normal the following week.

I know Y&R has problems. BIG problems. BTG has big problems too when they lose over a million viewers from their lead-in B&B. And out of nowhere, CBS decides to air repeats of BTG next week. This was not a planned week of repeats. Something’s up.

Michele isn't a very good HW. I had high hopes for her, considering what a great scriptwriter she is, but unfortunately, my hopes have been dashed. Michele needs a strong co-head writer who can help her improve her stories.

Omg.  I've been saying this about the music every week. 1000 percent agree. Some of the bad acting looks even worse when it's happening without some kind of music.

Okay, don't use music when Anita is speaking... it doesn't bother me. But... please put some instrumental when the AI robot dating Kat is trying to talk.
