Days of our Lives S60E204 – Thursday, June 5, 2025

Okay, today’s episode was kind of boring.
It was nice seeing Jack and Jen back, but they wasted an entire episode on Jen chatting with Julie - one scene would’ve been enough.
Also, why didn’t Jack and Jen go comfort Marlena? And wouldn’t a flashback with Jack, Jen, and John have been great? Maybe something from the Cruise of Deception era?

Bottom line - it feels like once John’s memorial is over and the returning fan favorites leave Salem… the show’s going to be dull again.

A little too much focus on Chad and Cat today but I enjoyed the episode. I have a feeling that Jennifer’s gonna get dumped on though, even though I think that her anger is completely understandable and justified. And honestly, Ron is finally gone; Abigail can come back now.

But, welcome back, Anna!

It was nice seeing Carrie have scenes with her mother. Christie Clark and Leann Hunley have never really had that many scenes together and to see them have them now is really nice. I’m glad that both of them were there to comfort Marlena too. Their words were definitely the thing that Marlena needed to hear.

Btw, with all this talk of Noah, does it mean that he’s gonna be introduced soon?

Amy, revealing that John changed her flat tire many years ago seemed a little random though. I would rather she have said something about how everybody in Salem knows of John Black because of how he was always such a hero. But at the same time, her story also showed what a great guy John was.

I liked Kate’s scenes with Philip too, and her promise to get back at Xander for what he did. And since we didn’t see JPL in the bed, did he need some time off or something?

And yeah, everything involving ‘One Stormy Night’ still seems very Ron-like to me.

Quick question - did Christie and Leann share any scenes together in the '80s before Leann left the show?

Yes.  I remember them together during the early summer of 1986.  They didn't share scenes again for 30 years until 2017 because Carrie wasn't on the show when Anna returned during Sydney's kidnapping.

Couldn’t have summed it up better myself. Truly unbelievable Sami of all people will have no parts of John’s death or memorial.

Also strange it appears neither Claire is being brought back? But somehow we got Chelsea of all people for Victor’s funeral.

This show treats Claire like a glorified extra prop not the granddaughter of the 2 biggest supercouples this show has ever had. I don't think was ever invested in Claire nor writing for her & her connections to majority of the town. What a waste of a legacy character with so much potential

There were only 5 episodes that Leann and Christie were in together in 1986, so these are the only episodes they may have shared a scene in (my scene logs don't go back that far): 5/20/86, 6/2/86, 6/10/86, 6/11/86, 6/26/86.

Mrs. H used the donuts to distract from the expensive jewels that she hid in the walls of her kitchen.  Now, it all makes sense...  😉

I thought a smart cookie like Caroline Brady would've had the chance to hide a bauble of her own from her dalliance with Victor.

Tomorrow is National Donut Day! Here’s Alice Horton’s famous recipe!

#NationalDonutDay #Donuts #Recipe #DOOL #Days #Daysofourlives #TBT

Ingredients:

2 eggs
1 cup of sugar
1 cup of milk
5 tablespoons melted shortening
1-teaspoon vanilla extract
4 cups all-purpose flour, sifted before measuring
4 teaspoons baking powder
½ teaspoon salt
1 stick butter, melted
Cinnamon
Sugar

In a large bowl, beat the eggs until foamy. Gradually add sugar, beating constantly.
Stir in milk, shortening and vanilla.

Sift together flour, baking powder and salt.
Add to the wet ingredients, mixing well.
Cover and chill the dough for 30 minutes to one
hour for easier handling.

Preheat the oven to 450 degrees. Spray baking sheet with vegetable cooking spray.

Roll out or pat the dough on a lightly floured board to a half inch thickness. Cut with a doughnut cutter. Place the doughnuts and holes on the baking sheet, one inch apart. Bake for 10 – 15 minutes or until golden brown.

Brush each doughnut and doughnut holes with melted butter and roll in Cinnamon Sugar to coat all sides.

Makes about 36 doughnuts.

Cinnamon Sugar:
1 cup of sugar
1 teaspoon of cinnamon
In a small bowl, combine the sugar and cinnamon, blending well.
