Nope.  Brady definitely favors his kinda-grandpa Ernesto.  They have the same strong jawline.  They were both cheated upon as an open secret.  And, Brady absolutely inherited his affinity for a bad idea, from the guy who brought a vat of acid on a cruise ship. 🤔

Yeah, like others have said, Paul took it home for me today. We'd be so lucky to have him back for good.

These episodes have been delightful so far. I enjoyed everyone who stood at the podium today, as it reminded me of all the decades of history.

The Cruise of Deception was the first thing that came to mind when I mentioned that Brady might take after that side of the family 😂😂😂

IzzyB stupid? Any examples spring to mind? It's been many long years back but I recall her being pretty astute about the men in her life, for example. She didn't take a lot of crap off of powerful men. Also it seemed to me she didn't suffer fools, at all. Now, Brady, sometimes he seems to be like the Scarecrow, no brain installed, other times he possesses smarts. But, honestly, he doesn't resemble anyone he's related to, IMO.

Yeah I don't get the slagging of Isabella. She was smart and kind and all around lovely. And she loved John a lot. I hope wherever he is he's with her.

That is a very lovely thought!!!

Ok, so the memorial felt a bit... underwhelming.
I couldn’t help but wonder - where’s Julie? Would’ve made sense for her to be sitting next to Marlena. And Maggie, who’s been close to John and Marlena for decades? Sami? Hope? Carrie?
What about Tony and Anna? Jack and Jen? And Will?

And Kristen - even just a short, quiet scene of Eileen Davidson by his grave would’ve added so much depth.

That said, Paul’s eulogy really stood out. The line “Can’t wait to play basketball with you again” was genuinely moving.

We saw Hope, with Bo, where she revealed John's death to him & he immediately wanted to leave for Salem & we saw the two of them talk to a doc or an admin about whether he would be allowed to be discharged yet. 

Someone, maybe Will, talked to Sami on the phone and at the airport Sydney had taken a fall, sounded like she was on a moving sidewalk, and had at least 2 breaks & was scheduled for some kind of orthopedic surgery. 

Since it is clear that Sweeney cannot or will not be available, again I say  it is time to recast. 

Wasn't Carrie lock-step with Belle the whole time?

In general I thought all of the eulogies were both good & appropriate. Yes, Paul touched me like no other. Loved Abe. I still miss previous Little Rachel but for the first time new Little Rachel also moved me.

And, amazingly, I am caught up again. Whoopeee!

 

Today was the day everybody recreated the flower ceremony from John and Marlena's 1999 wedding 😥😥

And once again, it was beautiful.

I also couldn't help but laugh though when Brady brought up John's use of his eyebrow whenever he dealt with his kids or grandkids. It's little lighthearted moments like that, that really have helped make these episodes and this tribute so real and genuine.

And even though they couldn't get Alison Sweeney back for John's memorial, I'm glad that they came up with the idea to have Eric read a letter from Sami. The way that the letter was written is pretty much what Sami would have said if she had made it back to say goodbye to John. 

Marlena and Bo's eulogies were the ones that got me today. I seriously wonder if their's or anyone else's were scripted or improvised. And I agree Bo, John's huge heart and compassion was his true power.

I watched Monday's and Tuesday's episodes last night but feel asleep and missed most of Tuesday's episode.

Still not happy certain characters weren't there. It makes no sense. It must be Days awful schedule of taping.
