AS has also said things like she respects her marriage and partner and Josh's partner and doesn't want her kids to see "sexual" content of her on the internet.   I absolutely respect Amanda's religion and beliefs, but she's continually building it up to be something not about religion just her own, personal choice and JS is just along for the ride being respectful of her beliefs.

AS and JS have a personal deal about how they want to frame their content.  ON A SOAP OPERA where romance is key.  I don't think acting is the right job for you if you are that serious about religion and sexual content and I don't think that's an unfair point of view.    Maybe ministry is a better choice for Josh if he feels so strongly about it all.

I think we're on the same page here. Like you, I respect Amanda's religion and beliefs, but I kind of resent that I even have to say that. Framing soap opera romance as "sexual content" is absurd, in my opinion. Where's the context? Where does she draw this imaginary line about what goes too far?

So it's OK for Chase to be shirtless as long as she's bundled up in a terrycloth robe That's the biggest thing we've ever seen? Then it's not "sexual content" that her kids would see?

Is it "sexual content" when her kids see the scenes where she talks about getting knocked up as a teen? Or is that not "sexual content"?

I could go on and on with this, but the bottom line is that JS and AS can make all the personal deals they like. Those deals should not have any effect on the writing. They are not being asked to do anything that wasn't done on soaps 50 damn years ago. When wardrobe -- layers and layers of unneeded clothing -- is ridiculous, we're taken out of the scene.

GH clearly is on board with their "personal deals" and it affects the final product. In the end, the show is to blame for indulging these actors.

As you stated, if you have these modesty rules, perhaps daytime isn't the right place for you.

Yes.  We are on the same page.  Where is the line drawn?  I could care less about a Chase/BLQ love scene but perhaps just discuss with your partner and children that this is your job and it's not REAL instead?   Amanda already has clips out there from OLTL of her being a stripper and romping around in bed with Clint lol.

I feel like we are manipulated into this narrative that AS/JS care about their partners and children, Idk, more than any other soap actors that do their jobs and do love scenes?   I don't want to get too far into religion or JS/AS's specific beliefs because I don't know them, but a job on tv doesn't exactly line up to what they at least say about their respective religions and practices.  Amanda doesn't need to be in a bra and panties.  A nice silk robe would be fine.

It's not that serious and I doubt it will change, but it does annoy me lol.

I co-sign with this and everything else you said.

I admit I am bothered by all of this in part because of that implication -- that  they care about their partners and kids more than anyone else. It's why I resent having to say "Well, I respect where they stand on wardrobe and values and sexual content," as if I and others are disrespectful and living on some other values plane.

I don't think it'll change, either, but I'll continue to talk about it when I see it....even if I know I'm beating a dead horse LOL

She was fantastic. And I would’ve felt bad for her if we hadn’t been shown time and time again that she literally can’t think for herself since getting with Drew. I loved her line before she collapsed as she looked at Drew. “You said we would win.” She hasn’t had a rational thought of her own in like 10 months now. She decided it was her and Drew vs the world and now she’s lost her kids.

My mom is in her 70’s and dresses more youthful than Amanda. It’s one thing to dress modestly, it’s another to have zero fashion sense at all.

I am in my 70s & I'd put my attire up against hers any day. You know us Boomers we're not gonna get old, much less dress old.

We are definitely beating a dead horse.  But by the time Amanda and Josh's kids are old enough to google their GH scenes-they would probably be lucky to still be on the internet. 😂

You’d be hard-pressed to find a more content-restrictive medium than soaps at this point. There aren’t many other acting jobs where you know you’re not going to be asked to simulate extreme violence or sex, appear nude, or use graphic language. To ask for additional restrictions on top of that is really bizarre.

Exactly.  Soaps are tame. I assume Amanda's perspective changed after becoming a wife and mother and was more thoughtful about what she was doing in her career.

But no one's forcing you to be paid for this job.  If it doesn't align with you any more please move on.  Lots of actresses in LA would be willing to play Brook Lynn correctly.

Yeah... somebody really needs to punch Lulu in the face

I can't believe how strident and ugly they're writing her character. She has no remorse over how the Gio story came out at all???

Her last line to Brook Lynn today had me cursing her out 😂

And there have been other successful recasts.

Hell, Amanda Setton herself is a recast. What's Adrianne Leon up to these days, anyway?

In any case, it's General Hospital, not The 700 Club. If Amanda Setton won't do the requisite soap plots/mchanics (including love scenes), she needs to find a new line of work.

Setton has always been a solid BLQ recast. I was very excited when she came in to make the role a substantial lead finally. I think she's done a good job in this storyline. But the restrictions and issues have taken a toll not just physically but at times on how she plays the character and certainly how the show writes her. So if she can't see her way clear to loosening up with the material and how Brook Lynn appears, I would regretfully recast.
