Guza and Geary had so much contempt for Greg's version of Lucky, and for any Lucky who wasn't Luke Jr, he was never going to stay.

I still wonder if they are going to reveal this isn't actually Drew and is Shiloh, as some fans have speculated.

They did a decent job with the memorials for various other characters without tying them to Sonny, but I imagine Carly will play a sizable role. Luckily with Jason and Tracy back they can have more angles beyond Carly and Michael and Sonny.

I was being partially sarcastic but this is the same show that had Sonny at the opening of a wing dedicated to Monica without any mention of him killing her only bio son in cold blood.

That was such a mess in general but barely felt like it was about Monica. Hopefully her funeral will be.

Correct me if I'm wrong, Greg Vaughan was let go from GH so Jonathan Jackson could return, but Jonathan Jackson has been in and out ever since 2009. While I'm always glad to see OG Lucky if he isn't going to stick around long-term Greg should've been kept on.

I appreciate that scumbag Drew is a departure from Billy Miller's redundant Jason, but what is the end goal of his brutal character assassination? Redemption or death as others have suggested.

I'm clinging to the fact that it was Jill in charge when GV last got "treatment" from GH. Praying he has no reason to blame Frank.

Love2Hate Drew seems multiple choice: redemption or discovery of his not-Drewness which means they've got Drew tucked somewhere, probably where NotBritt has been kept.

I have only one thing to say about JJ. Clearly he has a future in PR or politics. Who knew he could tell a tale so well?

So Lucky is finally gone. Thank God -- that was brutal to watch.

His goodbye to Laura did nothing for me. Giving Aiden a scene with Lucky -- as if that shows he's a great father -- was laughable. His goodbye to Liz was not touching or sad or emotional or anything. This has to be one of the most expensive and disastrous returns in soap history.

Jonathan Jackson gave Elizabeth a goodbye kiss and couldn't even hit her lips. Please keep this sanctimonious religious freak off my GH screen.

It was the most unromantic kiss I’ve seen in awhile.

Sucks. Lucky and Liz from 1997-1999 was magical and one of the best young love stories I'd ever seen on soaps. Unfortunately the magic could never be recaptured since Lucky "died" in that fire.

Is there actually anything Willow will believe about Drew? Does he have to kill someone in front of her?

It's sad because Lucky/Liz were an amazing young couple, but they were very much a moment in time unlike some other soap love stories.  Liz grew up and moved on and had growth in her life.  BH/JJ still have fantastic chemistry but it just not workable anymore as a coupling.  My teenage heart cries although I find it very realistic.

Lucky's final scenes came off as  strangely clinical and unemotional. You'd think the actors would up their game, since this is probably the last time JJ will ever be on the show, but nope. There wasn't even any crying from JJ, for old time's sake.

I feel like he'll be back, if at least for appearances, depending on how much longer GH lasts.

I don't know if JJ will ever return. I would never say never in daytime. I remember when a lot of people were persona non grata in far worse situations where we were sure they'd never return, and honestly this kind of weird in and out stint is not unusual or uncommon in the UK soaps (and usually is followed by the actor returning for good in 6-18 months). And then there's Thiebaud, who swore off soaps forever at least once or twice and insisted on her permadeath last time only to come crawling back. If Jonathan never commits again then I'd very reluctantly recast, but I wouldn't rule another round out. And I think this whole thing is a terrible shame, because they just didn't want to use him properly. They clearly had different interests for the character than Jonathan, either in terms of FV's preferences for the character or just in terms of possibly not wanting Lucky there at all. I think Liz and Lucky still work well chemistry-wise, but it would take a hell of a lot to dig out of this. The show just didn't put in the time. Of course if Dixie can come back from the dead twice or Dimitri Marick can return to Pine Valley, who knows.

And as we've said many times I don't think the FV taping schedule allows for organic story flow a lot of the time either. Stories rotate, characters get islanded too often, and if you have an actor with a deliberately relaxed schedule they can easily float in limbo. The difference is that when Guza II, JFP, etc. had an actor with a short contract or a low-guarantee one who they cared about, they would maximize them whenever they could. Vanessa Marcil had a six month contract in 2002 and I think she had exactly one day off. That wasn't sustainable and they should've given her what she asked for (time off with her new baby) to stay in '03. but it just shows the difference. JPS/Valentin was on recurring for a decade but half the shows' veteran story was hung around his absentee plotline a couple years ago, because Frank wanted to accommodate him. That didn't happen with Lucky because they didn't want it to. And Lucky, Laura, etc. are among the few characters I'd say still warrant that. (As is Brenda, who I am now sure if she came back Frank would end up firing VM too.)

It's a pity too, because there is good stuff on the show these days, good drama, good performances, good choices being made. But it so often gets drowned out by this, that or the other for me.

I'm cool with loathsome characters (CamDrew) because they can move stories forward, but what did ABC Daytime Icon ELR do to deserve this?

Granted I've seen very little of Nathalia, but the Marco/PCPD scenes make her awful - not in any kind of fun, mischievous or, even compelling way that can pave the way for more (e.g. Ava, CW's Nina). She's been written with no humanity. Why would ELR sign on for this?

I suppose it's inevitable that CAva are gonna do it in the Q barn stables - complete with hay, wool blankets, sweat and being found by Tracy.

I wouldn't be surprised if Ava figures out what is going on and turns the tables, especially if all this is meant to be some kind of angst for Cody and Molly. They seem completely at a loss on whether to take the Cody character. It seemed like they had gone back to his relationship with Lulu and now we have this.

I did see the clip where Cody thought Kristina wanted him to hook up with Alexis, which was amusing (and would probably make more sense given Kristina's mental state these days).

I don't have any idea what they have planned with Natalia, unless they just have appearances to burn off for her.

Maybe they can make Cody someone's long-lost son?

Never mind, they did that already.

Seriously, Cody should be a recurring character and not a contract one.

I agree that the show seems at a loss on how to use Cody, but I don't think that Josh Kelly should be on recurring. In fact, I see him as one of the show's MVPs, since he's one of the very few men on the show who has chemistry with a bunch of female scene partners. If they move a Josh to recurring, it should be Josh Swickard (Chase) whose only purpose on the show these days seems to be telling Brook Lynn how great she is.

Yeah, she's not a very fun character, but I will say those PCPD drunk scenes are the first time I've actually enjoyed watching ELR onscreen since she got to GH. Maybe they should just have Natalia fall off the wagon completely so she can play "chaotic entitled drunk lady" for the rest of her time on the show.
