Yeah… free Derek. And honestly, free Andre too. From both of his women 😂😂😂

I actually enjoyed seeing Smitty in reporter mode. It’s nice seeing his character start to develop. I still think Martin trying to prevent him from going to back to work was way too rushed though and kind of hurt both characters.

And I agree with everybody here; Martin and Smitty should have had a love scene (or at least a shirtless scene) before Chelsea and Madison did.

Michelle needs to not antagonize her audience. Don't be a Ron Carlivati.

I did get that vibe too, a little 😂

I don't like that, either.

Smitty doesn’t seem like the tattoo type. And maybe they don’t want to cover up Mike’s tats 😂😂😂

We all make mistakes in our 20s... and considering Smitty has a 30 year old daughter posing as a teenager... maybe the tats were a phase in his wild days. 🤣 We all get innocent and proper with age.

That could be a good storyline for him and Martin

This is why creators shouldn't be the showrunners because they're too close to their creation and can't be objective enough to shift gears if something from their vision doesn't work.

My issue with the show is the pacing because most of the stories are decent.. but the choice to heavily feature one of the stories for a week and then either not feature it all.. or not really mention it for awhile is not logical.

Unpopular opinion:  Chelsea is the weak link of the younger set and she isn't a strong enough actress to be leading a story nor being in a pairing when that airtime could be given to more talented performers.

I agree with this.

BTG has some good scenes everyday but that doesn't make a good story.

The stories, especially Martin's, need more of his family involved. Why aren't his parents involved? Why are there just Vernon and now a missing Anita involved?

Where is the drama in this soap? Where?

How can you say this when we haven't reached a point where we are watching episodes that came at a time they could incorporate viewer feedback? We haven't even had four full months worth of episodes yet and the show films three months in advance.

This reminds me of how British soaps are structured and I actually like this. Instead of the repetitive conversations for weeks on end, I like that they rotate the stories and keep things moving.

It's a very British way of storytelling, and I happen to love it.

I agree; it's a nice change of pace from the monotomous same stories constantly being told.

I aint mad at it. Criticisms are valid yes, but a lot of folks do too damn much and need to be told to chill tf out.

See I have to disagree somewhat. I feel they have found a rhythm. Finally. Before it seem they were figuring what works. And some of the people over there do see that the way to go is to have an A story with B/C plots lining it week to week. However, I've felt in terms of A story, they have only had...3. The problem early on was that they couldn't use (or wouldn't in the case of Martin's secret) it to anchor on due to what they had planned. It's part of the reason that the SilkPress storyline was the best paced of the main A stories. I also feel that's why it IS still featured even if it is more or less a B/C plot (depending on week) as they not only play beats, but allow it to build again. The issue becomes what they choose to rotate in from week to week. Sometimes it has been good. Other times it can be jarring. ie. having a strong week only for Vanessa/Doug storyline to pop up jarrily.

I am also starting to feel some of the rotating of plots to the point viewers ask about it right up until it appears again like magic is probably intentional. But I personally don't see how anyone (not meaning you) can pick on missing plot threads so doggedly on a show that's been on for only months when GH has made it an art form and it's been like that since RC was HW.

I do think creatives should listen to overwhelming/trending feedback from audiences so they're not totally tone deaf and can write to what's actually resonating with audiences - and if something isn't working with the audience, they need to strategize how they're going to fix it.

That said, in the social media age, there's always going to be "haters" or a group of people that bombard with negative sentiment over and over again. If you're going to keep your profile open to the public, that is the price you have to pay.  MVJ needs to learn to not take any of this personally, tune out the unnecessary noise, and take everything with a grain of salt. Defensive social media posts like that will only give attention to the people who she wishes would stop, and frankly, does not come off as being confident in her own work.
