Y&R: June 2025 Spoilers

It's real and it's current.  Joshua Morrow recorded this Cameo for Mothers Day 2025.  Mothers Day 2025 was May 9th. He would probably have recorded it a few days early, so that the purchaser would be able to send it to the intended recipient in time.

"I'm just sitting here at work, waiting to go on. We've been shooting this massive story, this murder mystery extravaganza thing.  And uh, long hours, *LONG* hours - but we're just digging in, you know, just making it happen, and um, you know, just grinding.  Because that's what we do on The Young and The Restless.  You want to be on the Number One show, it's what you do, you work your tail off."

A murder mystery?

Well a murder needs a victim.

I can see it being Dumas. And various characters with a motive. But of course Dumas won't be dead-just toying with people to see who would try and bump him off.

Can't think of anyone else who could be killed.

If they are working long hours I can see this as an explanation as to why things have been deadly dull for weeks.

The show has been saving up money to pay for the Dumas set, having more characters onscreen and working extra hours to bring it all together.

And JFP is there to bring her expertise at producing this kind of thing.

I’ll keep an open mind I guess. If it’s Cane it wouldn’t make much sense though. Why would anyone wanna kill Cane? (I haven’t been an avid viewer so unless I’ve missed something I can’t see why anyone would care enough to kill Cane)

My thoughts on some of the possible rumors/spumors/spoilers

There was a "Cane" name on a hanger in wardrobe.
Well it said "CA...." (the end was obscured) but it looked like "CANE"
but it's not absolutely clear.

Possibilities to explain the name on the hanger:

  • Dumas is a pseudonym for a recast Cane
  • or there is a Cane recast, who is a separate character from Dumas
  • or they cast someone to play Cane temporarily
  • or they cast someone to play Cane only in flashbacks.
  • Or the name on the hanger that starts with "CA" is actually another character.

For months, the assumption has been that Billy Flynn is playing Dumas.
Now the speculation is that Billy Flynn is Dumas who is actually Cane.

The only other sign pointing to Cane is that Damian asked Lily about her husbands recently and she told him about Daniel and Cane, and she said Cane broke her heart.

The running wild speculation is that Cane is doing some grand gesture as Dumas in order to impress Lily.  I think that's ridiculous; but I'm listing all the theories, and that's one theory.

There is also a theory (despite the enormous age discrepancy)
that Dumas is a pseudonym for Tucker.
I don't agree with that one, but I'm also listing it with all the theories here.

_____________________________________________

1) Why on earth would Victor Newman or Jack Abbott care about lowlife Cane?
2) Is it really possible that con artist Cane has become a mysterious billionaire?
3) If Dumas is really Cane, why doesn't the all-knowing Victor know this?

4) If Dumas and Cane are the same person, then the show has completely changed the character to fit the plot, making Cane into some powerful yet debonair brilliant businessman.  Total rewrite.

_____________________________________________

Since they are going to all this trouble to cast Billy Flynn on Y&R, then I doubt that his character will be murdered (regardless of whatever character he's playing, they wouldn't kill him off this soon.)

If Cane and Dumas are two separate people, then I could believe the show might kill off Cane, but then again, why would anyone bother about Cane?

So, I have no idea who will be murdered.
_____________________________________________

End of my thoughts.

I wonder if there are any other theories about who Dumas could be. What if he is an entirely new character? I’ve seen the theories on Facebook about it being Tucker or Drucilla but I think we’re past the point of being able to rule them out of even being a possibility.

I do believe that Billy Flynn has the ability to play a powerful yet debonair brilliant businessman, so Billy Flynn is likely "Aristotle Dumas".  I just don't know Dumas' real name.

As I said on another thread, I would have loved for Amanda (or resurrected Hillary) to be the real Dumas.  With Billy Flynn playing a rival.

Michelle Stafford posted a video on instagram
on June 7 and she says that "yesterday" (June 6) they had donuts ...
and you can see that Mishael Morgan is there and still taping.
And she Stafford confirms they've been working very long hours recently.

Conner Floyd IG stories June 7, 2025

That might be a clue, or it might be a random post.

I remember a few years ago, Conner Floyd posted a photograph of a Crimson Lights menu, which had details.
** (It showed sandwiches and salads, which I never heard of Crimson Lights selling.)
So I wondered back then if it was a spoiler that Sharon or her manager was going to make a change, but this menu was never seen or discussed onscreen.  I guess he just thought it was an interesting prop.

Re: this new photo  -- either there's a change coming, or it's an old prop.

It almost looks like nice linen for a table setting.  Could this be for the Dumas event?

    • "And OMG, watching the scenes of Roger's return in comparison...the quality in the writing really nosedived. The stupid mask." Very much agreed.  Having Roger hide behind a mask for weeks/months, with it culminating with him swinging in on a vine at Blake/Phillip's wedding....geez.  So juvenile. IMO, Guiding Light never did a good job reintroducing major characters, either from the dead or elsewhere.  Masked balls = awful.  Amish = awful. When Reva was brought back from the dead, she should've just showed up in Springfield as Reva, and informed everyone that she had been gone for years because she felt like it.  She had a four-year fling with some dude who ended up dumping her due to disloyalty. Josh would be pissed and declare that their love is not *always* but *sometimes* and he'd act accordingly.  Her kids would hate her.
    • Agreed. The Emmys next year are gonna be a pretty tough competition and I hope we get a Days sweep lol  Not only does Deidre deserve a nomination for these last few weeks, but I also think Paul Telfer, Raven Bowens, Carson Boatman, Dan Feuerriegel and Alison Sweeney have good chances as well.
    • It’s not about a lack of faith and trust in MVJ, it’s about a a lack of faith and trust in Ron Carlivati, who I think can be very sneaky and manipulative when he wants to be.  And, all that “He’s just a breakdown writer” talk never changed my mind about anything, because at Days, it was “just a breakdown writer” that gave us some of the worst episodes I’ve ever seen.

    • I think they’re desperately trying to cover his awful tattoos. But anyway them being unable to style short kings properly has been a major pet peeve of mine for a while now.  I honestly don’t understand what some people expect from actors to even begin considering them for recognition. Let’s be real—awards mostly mean that an actor is respected by their peers and has some level of cultural relevance. Actual judgment on the acting itself? That’s often secondary—highly subjective and shaped by the times. I completely agree on both points. If you’re an actor or a dancer you shouldn’t get any tattoos (sorry not sorry). Tomas’ tattoos are ugly too. And regarding the couples- you’re completely right. These writers are unable to write romance.   Further comments: - Kat cannot be this dumb to keep tampering with evidence over and over again. And I’m officially not a fan of the actress—every time she’s in a scene with Leslie, she doesn’t seem intimidated at all. She plays it like comic relief, which is just too much, especially when paired with Leslie’s histrionics and over-the-top antics. Leslie is older, dangerous, and has literally been portrayed as homicidal—Kat should be at least a little scared. • I also didn’t like Kat playing damsel in distress with the hotel manager. It gave off the same weird energy as Dani with the cop. I would’ve much preferred the version Paul Raven suggested, with her sneaking in through housekeeping. • And yes, Dani again accused Hayley of faking the pregnancy—this time even specifying she might be using a pillow under her shirt. (No fake miscarriage being mentioned) I stand by my take: this is ridiculous writing. No one in the real world—except us, the chronically online soap watchers—would even think of such a conspiracy theory. Haley is no Beyoncé. • What in the world was Chelsea wearing in her hair the other day? And this whole thing with Madison is beyond cringe. Chelsea’s coming off as needy and toxic—basically like every other Dupree. • I’m glad the casino storyline is moving forward, but it’s still boring as hell. Honestly, I’d be so here for a plot twist where Vanessa and Doug take Joey out. • The direction and editing lately have been rough. Abrupt cuts, weird pacing… something just feels off overall. There’s a strange uneasiness to how it’s all coming together. • And finally: Tomas is too much of a saint. Where are the messy sluts when you need them? (Vanessa doesn’t count.)
