CharacterS, plural. Who besides Dani are you speaking of here? Just curious. Of course, could be the s is a typo.

Typo as I am referring to Dani alone.

  • So Deadbeat's secret has to do with a car accident?
  • At least Nicole is getting dressed. That's a sign of good things to come.
  • Eva looks gorgeous in her sparkling pink number. Very age-appropriate and fashionable.
  • So, Douglas is back to his gambling addictions and lying to Vanessa, and here comes Joey, ready to fully cash in on the debt owed to him.
  • Jan, you look gullible, but do not let Dana continue to trick you into believing her sob story, because it's just that: a story.
  • If you're going to eavesdrop on someone, maybe do not make it so apparent (i.e., the new character: Kenny). But at least Deadbeat isn't running for president anymore. That's a sigh of relief.
  • Anastasia, the town gossip, is a mood. Hoping she's an occasional guest when things need to be spiced up a bit.
  • So, Deadbeat is no hero? This is alluding to this big, bad secret that's being harboured. Interesting.
  • "You is kind, you is smart, you is important." We love historical references, this time to The Help.
  • Oh, the showdown face; Nicole's slight eyebrow lift at the sight of Ted and Eva. If Vanessa knew she'd be showing up with Dani, then she really should have given them a heads up about who was at the country club.
  • Not Derek just throwing his nasty, dirty shirt on the ground. I would be completely pissed off... and I guarantee he's using all of the steamy hot water, and I would absolutely off him. He and his ugly-ass chair would be out of the home.
  • Oh, so everyone knows about Anastasia, and I do adore her. She gives me Leanna Love from Y&R, but even juicier.
  • Eva, don't beg Dana for forgiveness; she manipulated you most of all... and you deserve better.
  • So Anatasia wants lip filler? Or is she hinting at something else...?
  • Well, well, well... Joey's true colours are finally coming out, and not going to lie... I believe him.
  • Dana putting on a show that makes her look even more psychotic than she actually is.
  • Dougie boy, do not sell out Vanessa and her business.
  • The anvils dropping about Dana's future in Fairmont Crest keep coming out more and more.
  • Months to build debt and one week to pay it off? Sounds about right to me.

Notes:

  • Karla Mosley (Dani) was right during the premiere week: Dani would be leveled out, and these last few episodes have showcased that. It's nice seeing Mosley showcase some good range and the capability of everyday range, as well.
  • Jon Lindstrom (Joey) is showing what a capable actor he is; GH only barely tapped into that during the long-winded, dragged-out Kevin Chamberlain revisit.
  • Ambyr Michelle (Eva) continues to be the undisputed standout amongst the cast. She's going places.
  • Brandon Claybon (Martin) and Ben Gavin (Derek) continue to be standouts in the most needing of being recast, immediately. We've now got a second year under our belt, so now is the time to tweak the casting on both roles. Although Derek could easily be written out via a fire or emergency via his job.

Trisha makes it so hard to hate Leslie. Missy is just getting started to unravel. Can not wait.

+1 - She and Ambyr go above and beyond the scripts they’re given.

Scenes like that yesterday and today make me view Dani as the antagonist.  I don't know if MVJ was intending that or not.

She really does - they are clearly writing this as if Dani is supposed to be THAT GIRL that we’re supposed to find fierce and rootable. I don’t and she needs to stop trying to make everything about miserable ass self.

Agreed - and I stand by thinking MVJ’s personal friendship with Karla Mosley skews the writing for this character. The writing is slanted IMO that we’re supposed to be on Dani’s side, root for her, cheer her on as she berates other characters.

I don't agree that we're supposed to like Dani in obnoxious mode.

I think Dani was written over-the-top intentionally for the first few weeks of episodes, to get the viewers to be evenly divided as to like/dislike the character.

I don't think Dani is being written over-the-top or obnoxious anymore.
I think Dani is now more of a background character who is being assertive but still in the background of Nicole.  Nicole is the lead of the show.

She's been featured way more since the reveal than Nicole has.

Also, she may not be written as OTT or obnoxious... but Karla is playing the lines as such.

And Dani has been featured more than she needed to be.  The Bill/Dani scene should have been Bill/Naomi or Bill/Chelsea... and the Ted confrontation scene should have been Anita solo.

Very happy we got Mona's reactions yesterday and now Jan's today.  I'm so happy they aren't forgetting these minor characters.

Yes both were real highlights of the last two episodes.

Dani?  Honestly I've barely noticed her.   My focus has been on Nicole, Eva, and Mona.

Got it! Between typos & idiotic autocorrects our keyboard tech is trying to kill us.

Those messy diner scenes were amazing. I love this kind of soap scene. Multiple characters in each others' business at the same time. So fun. And so different from Y&R that seems to only have 2 or 3 people talking to each other while the rest of the restaurant is empty.

Amber has completely won me over as Eva. She's currently my fave daytimer. I can't wait to watch her continually shine.

The best thing about this show compared to the others is that it...moves. Compared to Y&R and B&B where they have literally the same conversation for an entire week (sometimes weeks!), BTG doesn't feel at all repetitive. Finally. A soap soaping. Such a breath of fresh air.

And, even if the same topic of conversation is had, it isn't a re-hashing of the same dialogue over and over again; it's refreshed, and slightly changed, etc.

The Jan/Ashley phone conversation today - They talked about Jan as a single mom raising Ashley.
The Jan/Leslie diner conversation today - Jan said she she never lied to Ashley about the father.

So then does Ashley know who her father was/is?

Recently she even said this

"Contrary to popular opinion everything does not have to be about me." - Dani BTG

and to me it was consistent with her actions of late.  I love her perspective about Nicole as her sister, now, in a time of need. She's literally been all about someone else, quite recently.

Yes, I am glad to hear that. I personally feel he shines in other areas.
