Right.  The reason we get Y&R a day ahead and have for ages (and I think at one time did with DAYS too?) has something to do with the fact that it airs very late afternoon (it used to be 5pm where I live but now is 4pm) so at some point because it aired after the US air time--or so I was explained--that would default to the next episode.  Or something.

At any rate, this isn't the situation here.

As another gay woman, I'm interested in what you may be thinking. Does it have to do with Chelsea's newly found interest in a WLW pairing? Or is it about something else?

If by this you mean me, as usual you are talking nonsense. While it's true that I am involved with a group on Twi/X and on Facebook, neither group has this kind of utter stupidity as parts of them. IOW, you could not possibly be more wrong. Your time might be better spent on almost anything else. You have a nice day.

So I have been busy at work closing out the school year, but took yesterday to get caught up on a week and half of episodes while I cleaned house.  Here's my thoughts.

1- June-Intrigued by the character and loved the ATWT references. Wondering if she will be connected to Hayley (as her sister) and the mother of Martin and Smitty's twins.  I have seen something saying she is a long lost DuPree.  So who knows, but I like the character.

2- Liking Jacob and Naomi more and like seeing them on their own.

3- Nicole-  I want to see her on her own for a while. Figuring out who she is as a woman, a professional and a mom.  Have her date some and enjoy life before automatically getting back together with Ted.

4- New Ted-  Jury is still out.  Having a hard time not hearing the deep voice and while I like Keith Robinson, he could pass as Kat's brother.

5- Andre and Dani-  Why do I feel they are going to catch feelings for one another??

6- Chelsea- Enjoying her exploring her sexuality. Kind of reminds me of the coming out story and Erica's initial reaction on All My Children.  Hoping to see where this goes and have them flesh out the character or Chelsea more.

7- Martin- BC still hasn't grown on me.  I may be in the minority, but I would love to see the character recast.

8- Ashley and Derek- Better apart.  I am hoping now that they are apart they will flesh out both characters more. I would LOVE to see Ashley revealed as mobster Joey's daugther and her mom his former wife/lover.

9- Vanessa and Doug- I am torn on them. I love her with Joey, but I like her with Doug too. I do think they are doomed and something tells me that Doug's days are numbered (take that how you want).  I hope that we see their children return home.  I love Doug with Shanice...speaking of her..

10- I wish they would give Shanice her own storyline and flesh out that character. She has so much chemistry with so many characters on the show

11- Tomas and Kat- They are a dud to me.  Tomas shines more with Eva, that would be a pairing I would be interested in seeing.

12- Anita and Vernon- Enjoying them.  Interested to see what skeletons are in their closets and if it will keep them together or pull them apart.

Have I said how much I like Jacob and Naomi? As the first in-bed couple from Episode 1...and a good guy/good girl couple, I do love seeing their development. Together. And separate. So doing my rewatch, it's great to see them together one moment and making their lives work. And then the next minute, they are off in other stories. I liked the Naomi/Derek scenes. Meanwhile DETECTIVE Jacob is involved in the SilkPress storyline due to Veronica Mars aka Kat on her and Eva's case.

Dani, Dani, Dani. I thought it was a good episode to show her different sides. The outrageous Dani who would kiss her friend in public...and figuratively blow Bill's head off. And then...there's Mama Dani with Chelesa. She is always going to be divisive, ain't she? Sidenote...good to see a bit of sass from Pamela on Vanessa. It's clear they don't like each other. I do wonder if that will turn into a C plot.

Speaking of C plots...well...I still can't believe how invested I have been in the Derek/Ashley mess. And another element in it that I liked this episode was how it was affecting Dani/Andre. Heck, they were all in the montage at the end.

And another speaking of C plots, Bill and that hand. smh. I didn't care for all the Bill/Hayley time, but that hand shake continued. I do wonder where that is going to go. MS perhaps? I believe in rare cases that it can happen to men, but I am probably wrong. Still...a chance to educate.

I loved the Dani/Chelesa scene for sure. I'm sorry that things did not work out for Chels and the girl. But it was nice to see that in the spotlight and something just different for soaps. And it led to such a great talk with Dani.

Mmmmm at the SilkPress/Eva scenes. It was such a visual version of what Eva and Tomas just talked about in the last episode with parents. And SilkPress admitting what she did. I totally missed it the first time around. I live for their scenes regardless. Though I'm starting to think (and the synopsis for this coming week doesn't help), that this A story is about to shift into more of a B story status to focus on the other A stories (Martin's secret and another round of Dani/Bill/Hayley).

Odds more likely Parkinsons. Hand tremor is one of the first symptoms, often. Actually it could be any number of neurological issues. Not all are Parkinsons.

I think I already posted about Dani's laser focus on her girl. But in case not, this goes double for me! Totally love & also appreciate scenes like these Dani scenes. Showing some layers, she is! Whether its with her sister or her daughter, as long as the subject is family, Dani is down.

I doubt they're going to give Bill Parkinson's considering that it would be something he would have to live with and gradually decline. It'll likely be something they can sweep under the rug eventually (though it wouldn't surprise me if they pull the misdiagnosis trick between then).

You make a good point. I just reached for something, unfortunately more & more common & the meds are good & most people have a long honeymoon before any decline. The most obvious thing would be an impending heart attack. That could be played by an immediate crisis followed by fairly ordinary time.

  • I feel bad for Chelsea; she's exploring her feelings, and they're getting [unintentionally] hurt. But I love the support that Katherine has for her cousin.
  • Bradley, you deserve one hundred times better than Deadbeat. So much more.
  • Anita essentially tossing Tracy out... whew. She's done. DONE.
  • Ouch... Chelsea hit the nerve with Katherine.
  • How interesting... I feel like Tracy is becoming the mirror Anita has been avoiding while being a Dupree. What are these top secret things she's harbouring?
  • I really hope Jessica's interest in Tyrell is genuine, because if it isn't, it might just destroy him.
  • Back alley meetings? Your family? As if Bradley is not part of your family... Deadbeat, sit your ass down.
  • Hey, Childbride, lower your damn voice. You're in the country club, not the country field where your ass belongs. And oh God, she's knocked up. Whew... here we go!
  • Dante Greene, what control did this man have? But I appreciate that Anita and Tracy are uniting together; I pray that Sharon joins them soon.
  • I love how easy Katherine and Tomas are with each other; it's smooth, it's natural and it's blooming in all the right ways.
  • Hayley is about to battle the Dupree women for all she's worth. I am calling it right now.
  • The unwavering support Vernon continues to provide to Anita is paramount; I adore them as the couple they are.

Notes:

  • Mike Manning (Bradley) continues to show up time and time again in scenes with Brandon Claybon (Deadbeat), who brings nothing to the table. There is an extreme lack of romantic chemistry between them.
  • I'm wondering how different Dante Greene is going to be in comparison to Berry Gordy Jnr; we know the true history of Diana Ross and the Supremes, but how different will it be with Anita Williams and the Articulettes?

    • 1976 Pt 3 Jenny has now left the order, but her recuperation  at the Craig home is hampered by pain and dizziness. Jenny admits to Larry it may be fear of her future that’s hampering her recovery, and she and Tim to put off the wedding. But suddenly she’s overcome by a presentiment of fear and anxiously tells Tim they must be married right away. They arrange a wedding for the following week and rent an apartment. Celebrating there with champagne, Jenny gently refuses Tim’s suggestion that they fulfill their love there by explaining that she wants to bring perfect love, without guilt, to their marriage, to give herself to him without guilt and as a gift of married love. But the following day, while she is making plans for the ceremony, Jenny’s world crashes as Vince, desperate to stop what he feels will be sacrilege, argues  with Tim, shouting again that God will seek revenge. Tim, at the top of the stair landing, turns to swing at Vinnie and falls the entire flight of stairs. Jenny insists that their marriage take place immediately upon his return to consciousness, and they are married in his hospital room. Tim’s condition worsens - shortly, and just before he’s to be taken to surgery, as he and Jenny talk about the love they share, he tells her, “If I don’t make it, you go on. I don’t want you sitting around grieving over me, because I love you too much. Live a good full life.” Jenny assures him they'll live that life together, telling him he must believe that. Tim replies, “Oh God, I want to,” and then he dies. Vince is going through hell, feeling that he killed Tim, and his pain only begins to be assuaged when Jenny compassionately and honestly tells him she doesn’t blame him and she’s sure God doesn’t either. Tim’s sister Julie flies from Florida for the funeral, then asks her mother if she wants her to stay, saying that they need each other. Ellen, however, tells, her  daughter she must go back to the new life she has made for herself; to delay would only make the goodbyes harder. Ellen offers Jenny some of Tim’s personal possessions, but Jenny gently declines, explaining  that Tim will always be with her and she doesn’t need his material things Viki was planning to tell Joe about the medical problem when news of Tim’s death came, and after the funeral Joe suggests that if the baby is a boy, they could name him Tim, and this Tim would live a long, full life. That decides Viki once and for all. She tells Larry she just won’t risk telling Joe after everything that has happened, and that’s final. Since her refusal of his marriage proposal, things have been strained between Tony and Cathy, and Pat, wanting to see Tony happy, pushes Cathy to make the first move—if not a phone call, then at least attendance at the opening of his club, Tony’s Place. The Opening is a great success, but Pat, hearing Tony sing “I’ve Been Alone Too Long,” remembers only that Tony sang that song to her so many years ago in Rio. Dorian manages to leave early with Victor by telling him she’s suffering a headache, and then tells Tony, when he calls the following morning, that their noticeably early departure was Victor’s decision, as he had business meetings the following day. When Tony follows up his call with a visit to his father, Dorian, who worked her way into her preferred position as lady of the house by treating Victor during his heart attack, turns Tony away, claiming that Victor has had too much stress lately and can’t hold up under a visit from Tony. Concerned, Tony leaves a note for his father, which Chapin, Victor’s butler, sees Dorian destroy. Dorian then instructs Chapin that Tony is not to be admitted to see Victor, and when Chapin replies that Victor has ordered that Tony’s visits and calls go through immediately, Dorian countermands those instructions, citing Victor’s health as the reason. When Victor asks Dorian to ease up on Chapin, as Viki has mentioned that Chapin is unhappy, Dorian makes it clear to the faithful retainer that unless he follows her orders explicitly, his years of service to the Lords will be over.  Dorian and Victor give a dinner in honor of successful enabling legislation licensing Peter Jansson to practice medicine, and Tony later learns from Jenny that Victor is fine. Realizing that Dorian stands between them, Tony races out to Llanfair to tell his father what he’s married to.  Tony confronts his father with Dorian’s schemes, concluding with the revelation that Dorian and her accomplice Matt McAllister knew Tony was Victor Lord’s son but kept the knowledge from him for personal gain. Victor adamantly refuses to believe’ Dorian could betray him this way, but after Tony’s gone Chapin confirms many of Tony’s accusations. When Victor faces Dorian with Tony’s accusations, she evades by insisting that this isn’t rational and she won’t discuss any of it.But, hearing Victor calling his lawyer, Dorian angrily accuses her husband of having judged her and found her guilty. When he concurs, saying he believes his son, Dorian bitterly  snaps, “All right. Yes. I knew Tony was your son!” She then pours out the entire plan of how, when she  was fired from the hospital, she vowed to get enough money and power to control Llanview and everyone in it. When Tony came along, he was a threat to her plan, and she tried to get rid of him. But, she reminds Victor, she saved his life medically and has given him something to live for; she has been a good wife and hostess. Because of that, she deserves what she has; she has paid for it! Victor, her words hitting upon him like tidal waves, pleads, “Dorian, don’t say any more,” as .he moves to the sofa, where he collapses, suffering a massive stroke.
    • I have had a semi-obsession with end credits. Back in the early '90's, I would copy ATWT's cast list. That was fascinating (at the time) because they were listed by length of time on the show. And in the '00's I would keep track of the scriptwriters/directors. Now I catch GL's and realize how many names stayed with P&G for years in different capacities. And I obsess over Maeve's credits, whether it's Vanessa Chamberlain or Lewis. I just caught an episode during the Infinity story where she's back to Chamberlain. I swear, someone in the production office (or whoever handled updating the credits) loved the sound of the name Chamberlain and were determined not to let it die.
    • I'm not sure they ever had a clear vision on Hart. Other than being the only real instrument that could make Roger pay for his actions.
    • Just an actress that truly knows her own character and plays it so real.
    • Thanks for posting. Is any of her soap stuff, especially from OLTL, available?
    • Lol.  Even if the writing has been slightly better I am not going to claim it

When NuArianna said "OMG, my cousin and uncle are right there" when talking to Doug 3 I had to pause and remember if it checks out.   It did.  Gabi also hilariously said Ari doesn't know any man in this town she isn't related to so they did acknowledge the log jam of Horton/Brady/Kiriakis blend kids.
    • In my fanfic reboot, this would've all foreshadowed Viki finding her daughter Megan.  They could've saved money on all that Eterna mishegoss.  And, given justice to Cathy Craig for being gaslighted by Tony and Joe.  She wasn't always unstable, but the guys she liked always lied to her as if she couldn't cope with the slightest bit of stress.  Meanwhile, she was probably a much more talented writer than Joe.

Side note: It is ironic that Dr. Danny and Megan Gordon were on screen at the same time.  He dated, her lover's younger sister. But, if she was born when Viki was 17, and Danny was born in 1971, she would've been at least five to ten years older than him.
