Town square stairs: Nicole claimed that Jennifer pushed her but actually Nicole simply fell.  (I think? ? ? ) .  Nicole claimed that the fall caused her miscarriage but actually she had just miscarried before the fall. (I think? ? ?)

Jennifer fell off the balcony from the Bistro or from just outside the Bistro (Bistro was on second floor at that time), and that fall put Jennifer in the coma during the timejump year.

Gwen was involved in a fall storyline but I try to forget about Gwen, so I don't remember anything about it.

Wow... today's scenes with Christie and Deidre? I'm speechless. Carrie’s return to Salem came under such heartbreaking circumstances, but it was incredibly emotional - felt like real closure between Carrie, John, and Marlena. And you could tell those tears from both actresses were 100% real. John’s memorial is going to wreck us. tissues will definitely be needed

I am blown away that Christie Clark is 51, and she debuted 39 years ago.

They gave her a lovely script today.  But, I could not think of any other examples in culture of someone able to jump right back into the skin of a character, after virtually retiring from acting years ago.

I was trying to recall if Carrie left for a bit with Anna after Roman died (because she wasn't at Bo & Hope's wedding), and then returned as a pre-teen Christie?  Or if she was just SORASed off-screen?  But, whenever I see the character I am reminded how much more trauma she's endured than Sami, and yet she remains such a nice person.

Carrie, as played by Andrea Barber, was at Bo & Hope's wedding. She was the flower girl. The ringbearer was Zachary Parker, the little boy that Megan tried to pass off as her and Bo's son.

Andrea's Carrie was at Tony & Anna's real wedding (Aug. 5, 1985). She appeared for the last time on March 21, 1986.

Christie's Carrie debuted on April 14, 1986. It appears that Carrie remained in Salem, just off-screen, during that near-month. Christie picked up with what Andrea had been playing, apprehension over John.

Christie said in her interview this week -- that before taping this, she had recently started taking acting classes again, and had been doing some work in England, so that helped her to jump into Carrie for this (as well as it being all so familiar, it really was home.)

Tuesday: I loved that Melinda/Sophia/Sophia's mom scene where Melinda told them about her own teenage pregnancy and giving her up, and Haley's death.  I thought it was a great choice to include Melinda in this adoption story, at least just for today.  Tina Huang is always great whenever she's used.  I hope she sticks around under the new writers.  You need supporting characters like Melinda.

Wednesday: All of Carrie's scenes with Marlena and John were so good and emotional.  "You are my daughter.  And you are John's daughter as well." ".....family is who sits in your heart, who brings you to life, who makes it worthwhile, and you, my darling girl, will always be our daughter."

Loved Abe's scene with John too.  I smiled when Abe called John "partner."  I started watching DAYS in 1993, so Abe/John will always be "partner" for me, not Abe/Roman or Steve/John.  "I'm so honoured to stood up for you. I'm holding out that my son will marry your granddaughter, and we will stand up for them together.....because we're family, John. Family. You always will be. Always."      God, such a good script today.

    • Really frustrating show today: -- I agree with others that Leslie has made far too many visits to Ted's hotel room. Why would he entertain a thing she said? -- More plot convenience: Kat walking in Ted's hotel room without knocking just so she can catch them having some contact. -- I don't mind Jacob and Kat confronting Mona, but they'd better get to Shanice in a New York minute. -- In no universe was Dani the victor in those scenes with Hayley and Bill. She made a complete fool of herself -- again. She had a couple good lines, but they were lost because she's already lost the plot. Breaking into someone's house will not garner sympathy for her. -- Even if Hayley isn't pregnant, Dani will never be the winner in those scenes. Why not let the months ahead take care of that? -- Dani pulled her "I'm a Dupree" at Uptown, and it was as obnoxious as it sounds. -- I never thought that back room was the full casino. Regardless, it's always looked cheap and ugly. -- Vanessa is for the streets. I'm sorry, the woman is trash. -- Do I want to see Joey and Vanessa having sex on a poker table in a back room at a casino? I do not. -- Actually, I don't want to see Joey and Vanessa having sex anywhere.
    • But it's from a viewpoint of I didn't watch back then so it didn't happen lol.  It's really not a huge deal.  We generally share the same views.  But ignoring big plot holes doesn't make it a good story because actors are doing great work.  I actually mentioned you had a good point about fallout.
    • It felt very hoary long before Reva had it. I forgot Bill got it too. A shame Michelle wasn't around to share tips on how to cope with temporary blindness.
    • I have updated this list with the following info: 5/29/25 UPDATE: Now that we know the "long" commentary (during the morning & afternoon sessions) listed on Vanderbilt for October 1973 is incorrect, I am adding these updates for 9/24, 9/25, 9/26: These are the time frames listed on Vanderbilt between the morning & afternoon sessions, so these shows likely aired on these dates (the only ones to air on the networks specifically these days): 9/24/73 ABC 1222-2PM All My Children, Split Second & Let's Make a Deal 9/25/73 NBC 1213-2PM Who, What or Where Game & Three on a Match (Jeopardy possibly from 1215-1230PM) 9/26/73 CBS 1233-2PM: Search for Tomorrow (1235-1PM) & As the World Turns
    • Too bad! Maybe something will pop up on social media. Seems like a fun event.
    • I didn't hand wave all the inaccuracies in the story, and I wasn't dismissive. I just disagreed and explained why. I clearly stated that I understood why some people have problems with the story and that I get it. I did say I was surprised about all the negativity regarding the story, but that's not dismissing those concerns or hand waving them away. I offered another viewpoint, that's all.
    • Not one shred of that sounds familiar. Sudden blindness is one of those soap tropes that was overused to the nth degree. I've just sped through '08, where Bill starts out the year blind, and ends it with amnesia.
