It wouldn't surprise me if it was a stunt, and then karma hits and he strokes out for real some time in the future. I would never toy with medical conditions.

I knew that Joey's mother was dead from the minute he started with the whole buying a house routine. And it is no offense to the actor but this whole idea of Joey being captivating and attractive is not selling. Putting the looks aside the character itself comes off as too nefarious to be attractive.

It's a guarantee that Hayley will get in Naomi's face saying "You put your father in the hospital" (if he's admitted). And of course Dani will have to rush over to check on him which will trigger a clash with Hayley.

Someway, somehow, I believe in them as potential characters who can mix well with the rest of the cast. Proper writing for them is obviously key.

At this point being sick is the only thing that would get Naomi to soften toward him so he probably is pulling a trick.

Today was the kind of episode we did not need, especially for a less than two month old production. Can't have too many of these going forward. The momentum and the pacing has to remain on point.

The real twist will be if he is NOT faking it. Then he'll realize that a hooker in her 20s can't help you while you're confined to a bed and need real care and attention from a grown ass woman.  That may be a way for him and Dani to grow closer again. I don't like it... but it's possible. Especially if the doctors order him to abstain from "excitement and sex". If Hayley doesn't work her magic on him every day... her cards are a lot less strong. Without sex, I'm quite sure... he'll start missing the family meals with the crazy wife and the kids. Hayley is fun, but she's not that deep.  

All of this reminds me of... how some men treat their wives badly... cheat on them... desert them for a young inexperienced selfish girl... to only then in a year or two... NEED someone to take care of them and be there... and now they start calling that ex that they called old last year. Typical behavior. 

But I think you guys are probably right and he's faking. 

It's odd that in planning out the early stories they decided on Naomi v Bill and didn't include an office set for her.

Wish there were some outdoor scenes sprinkled in as in Wk 1. Provides variety and realism.

That odd raised  platform in Ashley's apartment - first order of business-some sort of screen or curtain.

I know Doug is a cardiologist and Bill could be having stroke which is neurological, but if Bill has any ties to Joey or Joey owes him a favor then Joey could easily get Doug to help back up a fake stroke scheme.
