RM is a piece of sh*t, I'm glad he's gone. All the sh*t he and his sh*t wife said about TK after he was cast as Ridge he can f*ck all the way off

TK IS RIdge, they've changed the character to fit the recast, which shows do. IMO He's a better Ridge than RM ever was

I respectfully disagree about that. Ronn Moss, for all his faults and his lack of acting skills, is Ridge Forrester. He embodied the role in a way that Thorsten Kaye can't as far as I'm concerned. Thorsten's lack of real chemistry with KKL, who usually can create chemistry with any inanimate object otherwise (case in point: Ronn Moss

) doesn't exactly help, and I doubt that he would have had the same connection to Susan Flannery that RM had.

No one is denying that TK is the far superior actor, but RM was simply better at being Ridge Forrester.

The problem I have with Brooke is that... when you don't invest in developing your characters... and you repeat the same storylines every few years... you risk one day waking up and finding you've created yourself a caricature. That's when the real trouble starts... when the character has aged, but has not matured in any real way. Hasn't moved on from her initial traumas and motivations. And Brooke is still stuck in the beginning, some would even say - stuck in 1987 - chasing after Ridge after 40 years. Like the squirrel from Ice age... she just never stops chasing.

Maturing would have been moving on from him, doing something new businesswise. Brooke could have transformed into a different type of matriarch - not the controlling granny... but a modern 2025 one - a woman approaching her 70s... but still with a youthful spirit and motivation to continue being creative and dynamic. With her past history in FC she could have become a leader of a new fashion brand. Yes, keep it lingerie... but separate it from FC. Brooke should have left FC long time ago in my opinion. She worked as a CEO and the scandalous stuff... but after that - it demeaned her to be a part of the company, but not do anything. They made her as important as Pam the lemon-bar biddy. Even if she stayed in FC - she should have taken control, not GIVEN control... but connived her way back to it... and then renamed it Logan Creations or something like this. She should have been narcissistic and messy as fu-k and I would have loved every minute of it.

So what we have now is yet another repeat of the old triangle situation of Ridge picked Taylor, who is a safe choice... and Brooke is now...  going to try and seduce him. REALLY? IN 2025 THIS IS THE STORYLINE? WOOOOOOW.  I get that the triangle is iconic in a way - it worked when she was in her early 20s, 30s... hell... even 40s and 50s... but there comes a point where... it just... is tacky to see her humiliate herself like that. Brooke needs to be able to offer the world something more than boobs, ass and sex. Something more than "Riiidge, let's go to the steam room." KKL still looks amazing, that's not the point. The point is that it's sad to see her repeat the same thing for 4 decades... soon starting the 5th one.

I will not be surprised if in 10 years... we still have Brooke in lingerie waiting for Ridge in his office to surprise him... when she is in her mid 70s. 10 years is nothing. It will pass like THAT. Knowing KKL, she'll probably look as stunning as now... and Bradley will continue writing her like this.

Why I'm saying all of this - because I know where the triangle is heading and I'm just sick of watching this for the 1889th time. And maybe it's the second or third ride for Fake Ridge... and first ride for Fake Taylor... but it's the 12344232th ride for KKL's Brooke. How many times will we see her beg Ridge to pick her? How many times will we see her jump out in a bikini shocked to see Taylor? It's getting grotesque in terms of the character still acting like a woman in her early 30s... maybe even late 20s! I can't help but... laugh... But that laugh is slowly turning into weeping.

P.S For illustration only - Here is Brooke's storyline with Ridge...

You nailed it with your analysis of the entire Brooke situation and storyline. I have nothing to add.

For me, Ronn Moss "fit" Ridge better, but he's an absolutely horrible actor -- one of the worst EVER on daytime. He's also a colossal POS as a human being, so I'm not sorry he's gone.

That being said, Thorsten Kaye is not Ridge and will never be. Is he a better actor than Moss? Uh...that's an awfully low bar, so it's not worth discussing. I do not think TK deserved his two Lead Actor Daytime Emmys, either. That alone shows why the Daytime Emmys are a joke.

Kaye looks like he's in pain most of the time. I have a feeling he hates the storylines given to Ridge, and that he's there for a paycheck.

Judging by the way Brooke and the reactions to her... back in tacky lingerie last year were... I'm left with the impression that Bradley Bell thinks it's better to NOT CHANGE and just be proud that you've still GOT IT and that's IT. THAT'S THE END GAME for him in terms of growth and development. You were once a hot husband-stealing tramp... you SHALL REMAIN THAT. And be proud that you can still play-out the same scenarios.

In Bradley Bell's mind and his expectations for viewership reaction... we should probably be like - "How amazing it is that Brooke is still able to do this - seduce Ridge with her boobs... 40 years later! This is riveting stuff! WOW."  But it's not. And... It's not about age, damn it. Not about sex. It's about evolving. It's about not giving your viewers the same freaking meal every single year for decades.

I am not opposed to seeing mid-60s woman be a sex kitten... Why not? He could have continued that erotica-aspect of Brooke by evolving it through different storylines. Hollis could have been a start. I would have loved seeing Ridge feel inadequate compared to a young hot fresh man that doesn't have that baggage that he has. A clean slate for Brooke. Something new that she can start breaking from scratch. And not anyone's brother, father... or son. Been there, done that. It could have been fun to play these new dynamics. Yes, cliche... but we are talking about Bradley Bell here.

I would have loved to see the judgmental society that still to this day... condemns women who dare to date much younger guys. Madonna is being dragged about that every other week. Ridiculed that her lover is 25 or something like that. Brooke could have worked that angle perfectly and we all know... KKL is best when she plays Brooke in some kind of scandal or controversy. I would have added an older woman... late 60s actress... that plays the young guy's mother... who is instantly determined to break her late 20s son's relationship with that controversial legendary Bedroom queen.

We also know that... KKL's Brooke shines... when she is opposed by a cold moralist. That's one of the beauties of the character. And she's been lacking this for years and years now. Bradley is attempting to create it with JMW's Steffy... but Steffy is NOT IT. She can never be a moralist after the history she had in the show. She's also not the vibe for it. We need a clean-slate bish that is very uptight and judgmental and... hates women like Brooke. But a bish that has the backbone to do this... not some ex-slut herself. I hope you guys can understand what I mean.

It also worked with Stephanie because deep down Brooke wanted Stephanie's approval. She cared about her and on some level respected her. She has none of those feelings towards Steffy, so her disapproval means absolutely nothing to Brooke.

Perfect point. And out of the context of Brooke... Steffy is the LAST person who should be slut-shaming or moralizing ANYBODY on this show.

I agree - and - unfortunately TK is Ridge.  I still stand by what I’ve said - they’ve never had the right actor for this role.  RM didn’t count as an actor and TK isn’t it either.  I still cannot think of someone to take this role, make Ridge likable.  But once again I feel like it’s got to be different.  I’ve never been able to come up with an idea of who I’d like to possibly see?   About 3 or 4 years ago when I could see zero chemistry - (TK actually had more chemistry with both Katie and Caroline than he does with KKL) - but 3 or 4 year I thought of someone but - after Greenlee’s failure with Taylor - I  like Rebecca Budhig but she’s just not Taylor.

Thus I would not risk my idea of John Stamos as Ridge.  I have no idea who I’d like to even see try.

I'm sorry... but I don't agree with calling Ronn Moss a piece of [!@#$%^&*].

I'm gonna leave it at that... Because I'm not into mood for something more hardcore. I have work tomorrow.

What is wrong with the Liberty biberty guy?  He is so funny on those commercials. But his acting on B&B is painful to watch.  Is he being directed to act in such an affected way??  And if so, why?   Something tells me he's capable of playing this stuff straight, but somebody's advising him to do it "stupid."   Weird for sure.

    • One thing I thought about is if Hayley will have a reaction to Bill threatening to kidnap and sell a baby. That's another level of viciousness and with her just having thought she was pregnant it might make her feel some type of way.
    • You're welcome. Fall 1982-Spring 1985 was the peak of primetime soaps. What a time to have been alive.
    • 1990/91 Cheers, Roseanne, A Different World, The Cosby Show, Empty Nest, The Golden Girls were still Top 10 shows, and Murphy Brown and Designing Women became Top 10 shows. It was the following season that I think was the transition season for sitcoms.
    • @xtr I loved Martin in Thursday's episode, he was almost a different character. I thought he was flirty, funny, carefree, and giggly. Glad I have someone to share my top 2 women(Nicole and Eva) with, I agree Nicole is the heart of the Dupree family, and also the heart of the show IMO. We rode into the show on the passenger side of her car, lol. What I am enjoying the most about the show, is that they did such a great job character building, because all I care about is the CHARACTER journey. Nicole, Eva, Leslie, Dani, Chelsea, etc. very invested in what's coming next. I even feel that way about Mona, Shanice, and Doug.
    • I know we have discussed the fact that Another World seemed to be planning a location shoot in Finland that got cancelled. I came across this item from the syndicated Soapbox column published June 14, 1982. "Soap operas have been experimenting extensively with on-location shooting in recent years to enhance storylines and increase their viewing audience. A major drawback is the added production costs involved. Another World, for example, cancelled a special trip for Victoria Wyndham (Rachel Cory on the show), who was scheduled to shoot scenes in Finland. The producers felt that the high price tag, along with resentment of the cast members who also wanted to travel but were to be left behind. was enough to scrap the whole project."
    • A few more thoughts about these last two episodes. I thought it was interesting how much disdain both Dani/Anita have for Eva. I thought it was amusing how Dani was calling her lying/conniving and how Anita pointed as if to say, "that part". They definitely are not here for her, and I could see them having harsh confrontations with her in addition to Leslie. I'm curious to see Kat's interaction with Eva on Monday's episode. I think it might be interesting if Kat (along with possibly Naomi/Chelsea) come around to Eva before Dani/Anita do. Of course, Kat will be understandably angry at her. But maybe a tiny part of her might feel sorry for her if she really does believe that she's Ted's daughter as well and that Leslie lied to her. I could see Kat confronting Eva again and warning her not to harm her family anymore. But I could also possibly see Kat admitting that what Ted/Leslie did regarding her was messed up as well. And maybe that will pave the way down the line for them to get along better. I also agree with the comments/speculation made in the threat that Nicole will eventually accept/probably love her someday as well. I still wouldn't mind if somehow Nicole ended up being her biological mother. They have both been acting like they care for each other in this storyline. Nicole somehow ending up being her mother would be soapy and provide some more interesting layers in this story. And regarding Andre/Dani's romance it seems like they are genuinely developing feelings for each other. I have missed episodes, so maybe more of this has been elaborated on. But it seemed like there was genuine affection between both of them when they snuck a kiss publicly in the hotel. And also, them both talking about going publicly with their relationship. I wonder what everyone's reactions will be should they be caught by someone together. Of if they flat out tell everyone about their relationship.
    • I was wondering what week it was, and it explains the low rating for Knots Landing. I was also wondering what preempted Dallas and Falcon Crest.
    • Interesting take on Dallas. Frankly I think the plot of JR Returns should have been the way Dallas ended but for whatever reason they thought they had the chance to get renewed for another season lol. A week later Knots’ 2 hour season finale ranked at #10 against Cheers #3 and LA Law at #5. There’s only a handful of other shows running that long and still doing well enough the ratings/rankings i.e. Gunsmoke, Law & Order, NCIS, Grey’s Anatomy and more recently Blue Bloods.    Another point of interest is the unraveling of the 80’s sitcoms had already begun in the spring of ‘91. The first part of a Who’s The Boss? two part season finale we see here ranked at  #40 and second part ranked at #43 the following week. Growing Pains finale the previous week barely made it into the Top 30. The Wonder Years fared no better. Cosby losing ground, Night Court and Dear John just being there etc.
    • I'm glad a lot of people are continuing to enjoy this show.

I haven't posted in a few weeks and have some catching up to do. But I did manage to look at the last two episodes after hearing about how good they were. I really enjoyed them. My thoughts on them: The affair/secret child reveal was very good. TMG was really good as Leslie, her whole confrontation with Ted/revealing all to the Duprees was very entertaining. I continue to love AM/Eva. She my top two favorites on the show (along with Nicole). I have a lot of sympathy for Eva and how she was conflicted/ultimately felt guilty about publicly revealing the truth to everyone. I wonder what will happen to her next, especially if she does go and live with the Doctor that is friends with Ted and Nicole. I lol'ed at how Martin/Smitty jumped up and grabbed Leslie when Eva was calling her crazy. The way they did that was funny to me. I haven't liked many of Martin's actions/his attitude especially regarding Smitty/his children, but I think it was interesting how he wanted to check Ted for his actions. And also wanted Bill to be questioned/confronted about his as well. I haven't been the biggest fan of the character of Andre, but I appreciated his calm and measured approach after the reveal and how he talked with Eva. I thought it was interesting that he knew about the affair and convinced Ted not to tell Nicole. Speaking of Nicole, I continue to love her character and view her as the heart of this show/Dupree family. I am interested in seeing where her journey goes as a character after this reveal. I'm looking forward to her leaning on Dani and (also Anita/Vernon, etc...) for a change.
