Sarah was deSORASed.  Or perhaps another way to say it would be: during her many years offscreen she wasn't SORASed in parallel with others the same age.
Originally Sarah was the same age as Will's aunt Carrie.  Now she's Will's age. I think they simply cast the actress they wanted, as the character had been offscreen for many years so it might not matter to some viewers, and the actress happened to be younger than I would have expected Sarah to be. (But this is Salem and I'm trying to explain the inexplicable, so nothing I just said is actually relevant, LOL).

Ooops yes! Name was JJ (which I found odd since there's an EJ on the show too).

The Maggie/Sarah thing- I meant it as a compliment. It's realistic to me.

Oh I see. Makes sense.  Thanks! I like it better than 40-year-old people playing grandparents.

Also, he has to be JJ, because there's also a Joey in his generation.

Although, also not as unique in the Days universe when there's also an Alex and a Xander.

And thank goodness you saved yourself from the shocking ages of Ciara and her niece Claire (Ciara is Hope daughter, and Claire is Shawn's daughter, but they're almost the same age).

Time is a circle.

1st things 1st, WELCOME!

Now, I cannot parse who you're describing. Male detectives at this time include: Shawn, JJ & really a PI now not a dick, Rafe. NONE OF THEM are DiMeras! Plus anyone who was Johnny's brother could not be Chad's & vice versa. Chad is Johnny's uncle, different generations.

Again, and still, not sure who you mean, sorry.

We have consensus on very few things. Ron Carlivati, Leo, ... Theresa's wig, Ken Corday, ... I think that's it.

Like most I am a huge fan of Eileen Davidson & so it took me a very long time to accept Stacy as Kristen. However, now, I give her strong support for Kristen & for Susan Banks but she has yet to get Sister Mary Moira's voice right.

I still call Kat F'Abby/Kat for Fake Abby because that is who she was for so long.

Kristen has more than one note. She wants Brady. She loves her daughter, little Rachel. She wants to know what happened to her mother, Big Rachel. She loves power & money & good food & drink. She's been in trouble with the law more than once.

Oh, yeah, commentary on your couples in your sig: Otalia, YES but Olivia & Phillip were HAWT, so yea, but, hold up, Holden & Carly?!!!!! Sorry can't go there with you. Holden & Lily and CarJack.

Paul would be the best person to come back and help Steve run it, but part of me doesn’t want them to recast either

There’s a funny, but kind of mean response to your post, so I’ll pass

Sort of mixed lol some people like her, some people don’t.

Me, personally, I think they should write her out

I hope it gets a rebranding.  John Black and Steve Johnson really missed the boat the first time when they rejected the obvious name: John/John.

Speaking of which, and given Steve's past in the Merchant Marines, perhaps a boating and fishing company might be nice for Rafe and Patch?  They both live by the docks.  ChatGPT has done away with our need for private detectives.  And the lake feels like an unappreciated resource for the Salem economy.

I just posted my favorite JJ scene on my IG.

https://www.instagram.com/p/DI7FFLeJN30/

DAYS, a blast from the past, 2013 & my favorite JJ scene, despite his not appearing. Still he made these donuts but they were not meant for the book club!!! This used to be a regular post on Twitter. Salvaged. "Stoned Book Club"

So, I finally watched Friday & am caught up again. Yes, the writing is more mature. Now, there is all together too much hugging in Salem. Why do all of these people do these full body hugs at the drop of a hat?!!! Crazy. Knock it the hell off.

Next, the cliffhanger. Nooooo. Hope gives Shawn bad news over the phone & it's about Bo!!!

Also, everyone is way over invested in everyone's stuff!

Meanwhile, in more usual territory Johnny, who is a cleverly concealed coward is set to back out on the adoption plans. IRL this would be the end of Janel. It's been bad enough that they are dreadful boring, now ineffectual, too?

    • I also like how they've set up all the pieces where they could do yet another "shocking Gio parentage reveal" in another year or so if they want to. Because it's not at all implausible that teenage BLQ would have sexually experimented with both Dante and Cody. So if they want another violin-smashing moment next year, just have Gio find out that Cody is his real bio-dad.
    • I agree, also am able to see various points of view. Lulu, Lois & I think the two of them are going to rival one another for the heat they are going to take.
    • When you think about it, someone who stayed on for as long as Devon must have some fans out there. She also had an alcohol issue. I saw a host of episodes with her and Cliff on YouTube. I wanna say that’s who Cliff was entertaining while Nina had the affair with Steve.  Do you believe she lasted so long because Brooke left and they kept recasting Nina?

    • Thanks again @Paul Raven  It shows you just what a unique and memorable performer Denise Alexander was that I can see her in these moments and hear her even though I've never watched any of the material. On paper it probably wasn't up to much, but I do wish I could see her playing it. Meanwhile, the Diana material continues to seem like one plate of ass after another...I was thinking she had finally been able to move on with the therapy breakthrough, but then we're right back with her believing Peter and Leslie are having an affair. I don't know how much further off the material is that made Valerie Starrett leave, but I can't blame her.  I see less and less of Jessie anywhere in this - is this when Emily's health troubles were starting to phase her out of story? Going a few summaries back, writing out Lee, Caroline, her son and his wife seems so rushed. It's a shame Marland, or whoever, killed off all of them (aside from Lee), as they might have given Lee some story down the line. Or maybe the daughter-in-law survived too - I can't remember.
    • Thanks!  I compiled the list and posted it for the 59th anniversary in November, but just made the updates now for the couple of new cast members we've had since then! Didn't realize until I did the update that Peyton is the first-ever contract actor born in Nevada, so that's another state off the 0 list!
    • What I love about this story is that I can empathize with both Lulu's point of view AND Lois's point of view. I can understand why Lulu thinks it's important for the truth to come out and why she feels a moral obligation to let Dante know he has a son. But these good intentions have gotten all mixed up with her hatred for BLQ, and so she's going about it like a self-righteous bully who hasn't thought through all the consequences of this reveal. And I can understand Lois's thought process keeping this secret. She couldn't bear to give her grandson away to strangers, and so she arranged an adoption that kept him in the family. From her perspective, it's worked out beautifully because as Gio grew up as a "Palmieri cousin", he got to know his father Dante, his mother Brook Lynn, and his grandfather Sonny. She just had the hubris to believe that she could play God and keep the secret forever.  Maybe it's just getting to see Cynthia Watros and Laura Wright in full-on catfight mode a few days ago, but the show is starting to remind me of Guiding Light in its heyday, where most of the drama comes from the interactions of long-running characters who are likeable in some ways but have enough fatal flaws that they create their own problems. That's a sharp contrast for the way GH has generally been written since the JFP era, where most of the drama comes from external threats: supervillians, Sweeps month disasters, the mob shootout of the week.
    • Wow, @JAS0N47, that list of states was impressive! And I never knew that James Read hailed from near me! (I was born and raised in a nearby city, about 15 minutes away!) (Liked him since he played Murphy Michaels on Remington Steele when I was a kid. As an older kid, I also loved him on North and South!)
    • Oh, I remember this vividly! So trippy to see Mike Brady as a devil-worshiping judge. LOL! (With the mustache and curly hair in some pics, Reed seemed to have a surface resemblance to early-Jeopardy Alex Trebek!)
    • This makes Karen, now this & a guy on Facebook named Brent Costel. Sony is really deleting so many files.
